[01/08/16]   DEFINITION OF CONSECRATION

Making sacred, dedicating to the service and worship of God; separated from a common use to a sacred one. Metaphorically meaning perfect although not faultless, but bringing to a state of completion and fulfillment; to renew, to complete, mature, reaching the intended goal; to finish a work or duty.

BIBLICAL FOUNDATION FOR FASTING

“Is this not the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness. To undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?” Isaiah 58:6.

The three main types of fasting in scripture are as follows:

The Partial Fast – known as the “Daniel Fast” – (Daniel 5:3). This type of fast is not a total abstinence from food. The suggested guideline on the opposite side of this page is what would constitute a “Daniel Fast”. In this fast, 50 percent of all fruits and vegetables should be raw.

The Normal Fast – This is a total liquid fast, which includes complete
Abstinence from food for the duration of the fast. (Matthew 2).

The Total Fast – Total abstinence from both food and liquids for a brief
Period of time seldom more than three days. (Esther 4:16).

PREPARATION FOR FASTING

PRAY FIRST!
Once again, as with any nutritional/exercise program, individuals who plan to participate in this Consecration are asked to seek the Consulta- tion and advice of their physician prior to initiation.
Consult your nutritionist for a herbal program.

EATING PRINCIPLES (Adjust as necessary if diabetic)

1. Drink at least 1 gallon of water daily. While fasting, the body has more waste to get rid of. This is why this schedule is important.
The following schedule is suggested:
Morning: Drink 1 quart of water (over a 30 minute period).
Noon: Drink 1 quart of water (over a 30 minute period).
Evening: Drink 1 quart of water (over a 30 minute period).
(The overweight person needs to consume an additional glass of water
for every 25 pounds of excess weight).
When the body is thirsty, water should be taken immediately. This drinking schedule brings the body’s fluids back into balance. This causes more fat to be used as fuel. It also alleviates fluid retention, which helps maintain muscle tone and causes a natural decrease in appetite. When the body’s fluids are balanced, the body does not require or crave as much as when it is out of balance. For better tasting water, squeeze fresh lemon juice into your water.

2. Plenty of cranberry juice should be taken, this helps to flush the kidneys.
3. Abstain from fatty foods, caffeine, sugar, dairy products and meat.
4. For this consecration, “NO MEAT” is defined as no pork, no beef; you may eat skinless chicken and fish.
5. Resist eating fried foods, fast foods; and lessen salt intake.

OTHER GUIDELINES

Increase prayer time. Tithe at least 2 hours and 40 minutes every day through prayer, studying, meditation, or just being still. This time does not have to be all at one time.
Limit, avoid, or even exclude secular TV, radio, and magazines.
Limit or avoid excessive social telephone calls.
Suggested exercise program: Daily stretching and deep breathing. Walking is excellent. Three to four miles three times a week is recommended. Light toning, ie, floor exercises and light weights. Workout program may vary, depending on the level of fitness of the individual.
Married coupes. “Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time … “ 1Corinthians 7:5a.
For children: No fast foods. No video games. Generate family unity. Families sit down with their children.

BREAKING THE NORMAL OR PARTIAL FAST

So many people complete the fast successfully and then do damage to their physical temples by breaking the fast incorrectly. In breaking the fast, please do not eagerly seek to eat every type of food that was sacrificed during the fast one minute past midnight on the final day of the fast. Because your body has been through a transition, it is important to slowly break the body in.
To break the normal fast, it is suggested that the individual begin with soft foods that are not heavy, such as Jello-O, applesauce, etc. Do this for a day or two. Continue to drink plenty of liquids; water is highly recommended.
To break the partial or Daniel fast, increase the intake of foods that are on the suggested guideline. Continue to drink plenty of fluids; water is highly recommended. It is suggested that after you feel your body has adjusted, begin to eat small quantities of a healthy diet.

[10/23/15]   Truth About Halloween

“The celebration of Halloween is a survival of ancient pagan beliefs. When the early (Catholic) church was unable to stop pagan practices, it accepted them and gave them a religious tune.”

Can any Christian give nay scriptural – or even logical – reason for participating in, or approval of, that which is unmistakably associated with paganism, devil-worship, and witchcraft?

The 18th chapter of the book of Deuteronomy, (vv 10-13) very explicitly forbids Christians to have anything to do with witchcraft, spiritism, or the demonic.

“Thou shalt not learn to do after their abominations…” (Deuteronomy 18:9).
“Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God”. (Leviticus 19:31).

It is obvious that the elements, symbols, and traditions of the Halloween observance with its emphasis upon goblins and demons, witches and skeletons, ghosts and apparitions rising from cemeteries constitute a dabbling with the very things which Scripture forbids to God’s people and are an open invitation to demonic activity. History clearly shows that Halloween is unmistakably a “religious” (pagan and Roman). Holiday.

It is indisputably clear that Halloween is not commanded or sanctioned by Jehovah God – the true Christian’s Superior, Authority – in the Scriptures.

“Abstain from all appearance of evil” (I Thessalonians 5:22).

“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” (I Corinthians 10:31).

Gay Marriage: Three things your church must do immediately to protect itself
Friday, June 26, 2015
whatnow
Dear Rosalee,
Without question, the Supreme Court’s decision to impose homosexual marriage as a constitutional right is disappointing. There was a time when the Court rightly bestowed a great respect for America’s Christian heritage and to the Creator on which the Declaration of Independence was based. Sadly, those time are passed.
As Christians, we know God, in His great wisdom, established the institution of marriage as only between one man and one woman. Not even the Supreme Court can change that.
Because of judicial activism, Christian ministries can and should take steps to protect their religious freedoms. No longer can even churches believe they are immune to the compulsive and aggressive nature of the homosexual agenda.
AFA strongly urges your church and other Christian ministries to consider three recommendations immediately:
Adopt a clear statement of faith regarding human sexuality and marriage.
Clarify that weddings in your church are Christian worship services.
Adopt a policy that clearly restricts the use of ministry facilities to the ministry’s religious purposes.
AFA makes several resources available to aid your church pastor, leadership and ministry in protecting itself against the coming storm of homosexual activism.
American Family Studios has produced a short documentary that provides legal analysis of the dangers posed to religious liberty by the ruling. Watch it here.
Read and print this article written by AFA General Counsel Pat Vaughn. It will help your church understand the dangers of doing nothing. Will a gay marriage storm crush your church?
Alliance Defending Freedom has produced a handbook that will walk your church through every step of adopting strong marriage policies, including sample resolutions and statements. A Legal Guide for Churches, Christian Schools, and Christian Ministries
As Christians, we can and must guard our religious freedoms while showing Christ’s mercy to people in bondage to homosexuality. Avoiding problems in the future depends on what we do today.
Please use the resources provided to insure your church or ministry is ready for the certain dangers ahead. May God bless our efforts, as we stand on His word.

Tim Wildmon, President
American Family Association

[01/10/15]   Thanks to everyone who made up the huge turnout of family and friends and at least 15 preachers for Benjamin Franklin Scott, III's "Celebration of Life" memorial service tonight at Abundant Life Outreach Ministries, Bishop Roy Dixon, prelate of our 4th Jurisdiction, came and took part in the service. It's obvious that Ben had a very positive effect on all who met him. A large number of people had heart-touching things to say about Ben and how he has been a blessing to them. Yes, Benjamin Franklin Scott, III will truly be missed now that he is an asset in Heaven.

[01/10/15]   Tribute to
Benjamin Franklin Scott, III
Sunrise 9-17-197 Sunset 12-25-2015

I bring you greetings, my brother, my sister.
The words that come next should cheer up the listener.

I didn’t think I would make it to this Celebration of life
Of a son in the gospel who had neither children or wife.
He called himself the Church Pied Piper of kids,
So find them and bring them and teach them he dd.

The love of God and pastor aside,
He was looking forward to making Mona his bride.
He never met a stranger; his heart full of love;
Always ready to tell others of the Father’s gift of love.

“He that winneth souls is wise”, is what he would quote;
As he witnessed to others, bringing them into God’s light fold

He prayed and he prayed with all of his might,
Not in the least ashamed to make known his plight.
With the other intercessors, he was down on his knees,
Pleading for all those who had some great need.

With acts of kindness and loving stride,
He and Patience would not hesitate to give you a ride.
We know that “yadda, yadda, yadda”, and “allie, allie, ah glory”
Will forever be a part of his heavenly story.

So as I prepare to take my seat,
I say it was a true privilege to meet
One with a thirst for righteousness and hunger for the Word,
None other than – Benjamin Franklin Scott, III
