May we not seek to be “fashionable” but to be those that are self-denying, cross-bearing disciples of Jesus Christ.
Thank You Jesus for salvation and the forgiveness of our sins.
We have such a faithful and loving Shepherd indeed!
It is much easier to praise Him and be thankful when all is well, when the sun is shining down upon your life, your marriage is doing well and you are working as a team (or content in your singleness), when your children are all walking strongly with the Lord, when your bills are all paid and current, when your health is well and you aren’t experiencing any body aches. However, it becomes a sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving to the Lord when you are walking through the unknown, you and/or your children are doubting and wondering if God is even hearing your prayers, when your bills are piling up and your paycheck isn’t stretching as far as it is needed, your health is failing and you feel the effects of age on your body, when your marriage is in a hard place (or divorce has hit home), or when you feel alone and like nobody cares about you. This is when we must remember that God is good; not all of life “feels” good but God has promised to never leave us nor forsake us. He has promised that He is near to the broken-hearted and that He hears the fragile, vulnerable cries of His broken and wounded children as they come from a humble heart that is seeking their Abba Father for the help, comfort, wisdom and grace they need. For that, we can thank Him and for that we can praise Him! He is an ever present God and we are never alone.
Applies to us as women too. 😉
Our Hope is in Jesus Christ alone!
Ah, yes! Jesus we want and need more of You! Help us to go lower so that we may have an even greater and higher view of You!
Let us be thankful that we serve a God who is so loving, caring and mindful of each of us! To think that the Creator of all the universe would even desire to have fellowship with us is mind blowing.
