[05/07/20]   “DRIVE IN CHURCH” beginning May 10 at 10:15 am
We have been holding church online since March 15. As the state opens up slowly we understand there are fears and concerns still held by people. We also want to be cautious and see where things go before we fully gather back in the sanctuary which might be many months. As much as we love being with you we want everyone to be safe. Since March 15 we have had two options for people to see church services: via Zoom and on Facebook. Beginning May 10 (Mother’s Day) we would like to offer a third option – “Drive-in church” knowing that some of our members do not have internet access and others might like to just go for a drive and sit and see the service in person. Think of it like going to a drive-in movie theatre. The following guidelines need to be understood as to how it will work.
• We would ask that you arrive between 10 & 10:10 so we can have everyone parked in the rows.
• We will have one person direct vehicles so you pull in the parking lot the correct way into lanes so that you can see Pastor Sandy and our musician upfront.
• A bulletin to follow will be handed to you when you park.
• Everyone MUST remain in your vehicle.
• You can have windows down and say hi to people but do not try to shake hands or get out of your vehicle.
• Turn your vehicles engine off and put turn your key so your radio will still work.
• Tune your radio to the FM channel that will be on a sign as you pull in so you can hear the service.
• If they are calling for rain on Sunday please call 717-484-4885 for a decision that will be made by 8 am on Sunday and the machine will be updated if we are still holding church in the parking lot.
• Communion will be offered on May 17, May 31 (Pentecost), June 7 (Trinity Sunday) for those who would like to have communion.
o Communion will be in the form of (factory) prefilled cups that also have the wafer included so it will not have been touched by pastor when she distributes them as you arrive and park. You will have to unseal them at the appropriate time in the service.
o Please bring a napkin or towel if it is messy when you open it. You will take the trash back to your house to throw away.
• During the songs if kids would like to bring something to make some noise with they are welcome to do that as part of the songs.
• Offering will not be collected during the service but if you would like to drop an offering off as you leave or arrive to the service you may do so or you may continue to mail your offerings to the church.
• When the service is over the lines of vehicles will be dismissed.
• We would ask that you use your bathroom at home before you come to church and only plan on entering the building if it is an absolute emergency.
• The plan is that services will last no more than 30 minutes.
Please know that we will reevaluate this procedure at the end of May as we see how the status of the county is doing or any changes we need to tweak. If it seems appropriate we would like to add that an area for those who are comfortable that they can bring lawn chairs and sit in assigned areas but we will let you know what week that will begin depending on area guidelines. We will also during this time continue to share the service on zoom and Facebook.

[05/01/20]   Week 7 -- April 29 We tried something different this Sunday and added a little puppet skit. We are trying to mix things up at times to keep it exciting for all of us and uplifting which is what we need now. As you read below you will see we will be trying something new later in May. I hope it will add another option for those who would like to gather. Thank you for those who continue to find ways to reach out to each other. We will also be adding a fun game night this week and there will be a time to hear the bells ring at church. See below for more info. Continue to join us on Sundays for worship and our social connection times. Call if you need something. We thank you for those who have sent your offerings to keep the church budget going. Every Wednesday I will send out weekly updates.

[04/28/20]   St. Paul’s has been asked by the mayor of Adamstown to participate in support of “Bells Across Pennsylvania Day,” an initiative of the Pennsylvania State Mayors’ Association which will take place on May 3, 2020 at 7 pm. We will be ringing our bell for 3 minutes as part of this.
The threefold purpose of the initiative is:
• To recognize and honor first responders, healthcare workers, and employees of grocery stores, pharmacies and other life-sustaining businesses who have maintained essential services while at risk of infection from COVID-19;

• To show solidarity with elected officials and residents of municipalities across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, all of whom are fighting COVID-19 on the frontlines together; and

• To demonstrate a collective resolve that Pennsylvanians will prevail over COVID-19 and work tirelessly to ensure that their businesses and civic life will thrive once again.
Mayors and other elected officials are being encouraged to hold whatever events “sheltering in place” will allow. Then at 7:00 p.m., all Pennsylvanians and churches will be encouraged to ring bells for three minutes – one minute for each of the above purposes.
