pack611.org End of Summer Picnic! Posted on July 28, 2019 by pack611 • No comments The end of summer picnic will be 8/10 from 11A – 3P at Red Top Mountain State Park Picnic Shelter #2 ($5 parking fee required). Please use the link below to sign-up and join us! https://forms.gle/WJXneg4asQU3eXzN9
It's been a fun summer for Pack 611 so far. We participated in the Acworth Memorial Day service, leading the Pledge of Allegiance before going to Liberty Hill Cemetery to place flags on the graves of service members who passed away. Then in June, a lot of us attended the Silver Comet North Day Camp, spending a week working on advancements and just plain having fun.
In July, we'll be going to a Rome Braves game and then closing out the summer in August with a cook-out at Red Top Mountain State Park before we get back in the swing of regular meetings for the school year.
If you've been considering Cub Scouts or were looking to come back after a break, feel free to join us for any of the above or for our regular meetings during the year!
I just wanted to say thank you to all the Scouts and Families who came out to help with our area at Santa Comes to Acworth last night! We gave out almost 1000 cups of hot chocolate and we ran out of marshmallow sticks.
Next weekend, we'll be at the National Cemetery in Canton for our second service project of the season to help lay wreaths on the graves of service members.
[08/18/18] The Pack Picnic today is being moved indoors due to inclement weather. It will now be at Acworth United Methodist Church in the FLC (Building D at the rear of the church).
[07/31/18] The first meeting of the school year will be Tuesday, August 21 at 7PM at Acworth United Methodist.
Fun at this year’s Blue and Gold Banquet.

SCOUTBOOK AUTOMATICALLY RECORDS ADVANCEMENT TO BSA DATABASES
We have implemented the long awaited ScoutNet youth advancement sync. This means that Scoutbook units that have the sync activated have all their advancements automatically recorded at their council’s database when they approve their advancements.
All troops with Scoutbook subscriptions have been invited to participate in the sync and we are happy to announce that we are starting to rollout invitations to Cub Scout Packs and Venturing Crews. We should have all packs and crews invited by the end of the month.
When your pack or crew is invited into the sync, your Scoutbook unit administrators will receive an email with instructions on how to activate the sync for your pack or crew. Give us a few weeks to get to everyone.
More information on activating the sync can be found at this forum thread:
For more information on Scoutbook, go to http://scoutbook.com

Silver Comet District Pinewood Derby 2015
I want to inform you of the upcoming Silver Comet District Pine wood Derby on March 28. Attached you will find the event flyer with information and registration link. At this year’s Derby we would like to have your scouts that finished in 1st, 2nd or 3rd in their current rank( Tiger, wolf, Bear, Web I and Web II races) at this year’s PWD 2015 race. We will race by ranks and the top three from each rank of the districts race will advance to the District Finals that day.
We will be giving out Medals for the top 3 of each rank and trophies to the top 3 in the finals Race. Who will be our 2015 Silver Comet District Champion?? This year’s rules are attached as well. Please read through all the rules as they may differ from your Packs rules!! We will have patches for everyone who registers.
Before the finals race we will be having a siblings race as well with awards to the top 3 of that race. You probably will not be able to register the sibling, Doubleknot registration was not setup for it but, you may check anyway. Council may add it to the site. If you email me with a name of the" Sibling" only I will add it to the roster and you may pay at the event. If you email me they will be the early price.
I would love to have every Pack represented and to have a big turnout. These will be some exciting races. We will "Do Our Best" to make this a fun exciting event.
Please forward this to your pack!! The same information is on the district web site under Cub Scout program. http://www.mountainlakedistrict.com/default.asp
The location has changed from last year due to their calendar was booked! Location is on the flyer!
Again, only the 1st, 2nd or 3rd place scouts can participate.
[01/27/15] Reminder: There is no den meeting tonight. We will see everyone next week.
[11/15/14] Don't forget - POPCORN pick up is today(Saturday 11/15/2014) from 10am-12PM at AUMC (parking lot near the trailers).
Leadership Training Available.
It's training time and now that recruiting is winding down, hopefully you have all identified your new leaders and are ready to get them trained! Our district is offering BALOO and OWLS on October 4th. BALOO is most of the day that Saturday, OWLS will be all day (this is not offered as an overnighter).
BALOO information can be found here...
OWLS can be found here....
Remember, for a pack to go camping, at least one leader, preferably two should be BALOO trained. If a Webelos Patrol wants to camp on their own, their leader needs to be OWLS trained. This is a training that can only be taken at council or District level only. There is still space in both classes so sign up today!!
If you have any questions, feel free to ask or you can contact the training chair at [email protected]
