Part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The Christian Church of Abingdon invites you to join us as part of the Body of Christ in worship, fellowship, and mission.
We are growing in faith together and celebrate the gifts of God among us. We are part of the denomination known as the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. We proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ as found in the Bible. We celebrate the Lord's Supper weekly and administer baptism by immersion. We recognize that the church is a universal fellowship of all those who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We strive to embody the grace of God in all that we do and say. We worship weekly each Sunday at 10:30 am. Come as you are. Worship is largely informal with a mixture of traditional and contemporary elements. Children are welcome in worship. A nursery is available also for infants and toddlers if preferred. Sunday School is at 9:30am.
Mission: The purpose of this Church shall be, as revealed in the New Testament, to win people to the faith of Jesus Christ, to help them grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ, that increasingly they may know and do His will and work for the unity of all Christians and with them engage in the common task of building the Kingdom of God.

We are all certainly missing the Chicken Pie Dinner this year, and we are hoping and praying we'll be able to do it next year! However - because of your generosity and support, you have raised almost enough to cover the cost of the church's annual insurance bill, which is WHY we have had the Chicken Pie Dinner since the 1920s. Thank you all who have helped, and if you have not considered contributing yet - there is still time.

We thank everyone for being understanding through this challenging time, and for your support through the years.
