True to His Word
If you’re spending more time talking about your problems than you are about God’s promises, that’s out of balance. The Scripture says, “God watches over His Word to perform it.” It doesn’t say God watches over our complaints or our begging, “God, please, this isn’t fair. You have to turn this around.” Yes, He’s concerned and sees the wrongs, but what moves Him to act is when He hears you speak His Word. It’s very powerful when you switch over to thanking Him for what He’s promised.

Make a list of what God has promised you and put it on your phone, your bathroom mirror, and your computer, and all through the day put Him in remembrance. God has never failed in the past, and He’s not going to start with you. It may not happen your way or on your timetable, but God is true to His Word. When you’re constantly saying, “God, You promised,” that’s what allows Him to bring promises to pass

“God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?”
(Numbers 23:19, NLT)

Is It Really Too Hard?
Abraham was ninety-nine years old when the Lord told him that within a year, he would have a son. He and Sarah were way too old to have a baby. It was so far out that when Sarah heard it, she laughed out loud. Has God ever put something in your heart that seemed so unlikely, so big that your first reaction was to laugh? He whispers in your spirit that you’re going to live in a nice neighborhood, lead your company in sales, see your family restored, or get your health back. If Abraham would have only looked at it logically, he would have given up. But Abraham did what we all must do: He believed. “Yes, it’s impossible, but God can do the impossible. It defies the laws of nature, but God supersedes the laws of nature.” Whatever looks impossible in your life, what God started He will finish. As was true for Abraham, you will see the promise come to pass.

Help Others along the Way
In Psalm 72, King Solomon asked God to make him well known, that his fame would spread throughout the land, that the wealth and honor of other nations would be brought to him, and that kings would bow down before him. You would think God would rebuke Solomon and tell him he was greedy and prideful, but He did exactly what he asked for. God answered that bold prayer because Solomon pledged to use his influence and wealth to lift the fallen, restore the broken, and help the hurting.

God has no problem giving you influence, honor, wealth, and even fame, as long as your dream, in some way, is connected to helping others, to making this world a better place. Whatever field you’re in—medicine, sales, construction, accounting, teaching—I dare you to pray, “God, make me famous in my field. Let me shine. Give me influence.” There’s no limit to what God will do for you if you use what He’s given you to help others.

MY CATHOLIC FAITH: WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF VEILING RELIGIOUS IMAGES DURING LENT IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH?

INTRODUCTION
Towards the end of Lent you may notice purple cloths draped over the crucifixes, statues, and saint images at your parish. In some churches, these items may be removed from the sanctuary altogether. What is the importance of this practice?

THE TRADITION OF VEILING RELIGIOUS IMAGES
The tradition is often practiced during the last two weeks before Easter, starting on Passion Sunday (now called the fifth Sunday of Lent) and ending on Good Friday. This time period is known on the old liturgical calendar as Passiontide. Even though this period is no longer officially called by this name, the tradition is still practiced in many places.

WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THIS TRADITION?
Firstly, this old custom of veiling religious images is a way of focusing on the penitential aspect of this liturgical season. It reminds us in a visual way that our faith in all its glory is made possible only through the work of Christ in his suffering and death on the cross. When we cover or remove these holy and sacred images that we are so accustomed to, we are starkly confronted and reminded in a poignant way of all that Christ has won for us.

More so, In covering the religious images during the height of Lent, all attention is centered on the Passion and death of Christ. This is why the only images NOT to be covered are the Stations of the Cross.

Also, Veiling the altar crucifix for Passiontide and temporarily veiling the crosses and religious images in the penitential color of Lent is a beautiful custom that helps us to reflect on the deeper theological meaning of the liturgical season.

Then, as in a dramatic unveiling, the holy images are again revealed for the Easter Vigil to mark the end of the penitential season. The joy of the Easter season and the hope of the Resurrection then comes to the forefront.

The unveiling before the Easter Vigil is a great reminder of our own life on earth. We live in a “veiled” world, in exile from our true home. It is only through our own death that the veil is lifted and we are finally able to see the beauty of everything in our lives.

WHAT IS TO BE VEILED AND WHEN IS IT TO BE UNVEILED AND REVEALED?
Crucifixes and images are to be veiled from the 5th Sunday of Lent and Crucifixes are to be revealed on Good Friday (to emphasize Jesus' death on the Cross on that day).

While Images and Statues are to be revealed on Easter Vigil (the early evening of Holy Saturday)

CONCLUSION
Just as the Church simplifies the sanctuary in these last weeks of Lent in order to focus on the penitential aspect of the season, we can also simplify our homes in creative ways by draping purple clothes over our crucifixes and other holy images. It reminds us that Jesus hid his glory during his Passion, so too we hide away our religious items in order to prepare ourselves to focus on and honor his Passion.
