GOD'S VISION FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE
BY: Pastor Okiror Samuel

“Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you.

Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.” *Colossians 3:13*

Showing grace to others is what God wants us to do, but it’s not always easy because we’re so often focused on ourselves.

You may see a family member who’s struggling right now as a drain on you rather than someone who feels hopeless over a desperate situation. Or you see the person who cut you off on the freeway as your worst enemy rather than someone in need of God’s love.

We all need God’s love. That’s why Jesus Christ came into this world. He came to show people grace. The ultimate way God does this is through forgiveness. And the ultimate way he asks you to show grace to other people is by forgiving them.

Colossians 3:13 says, “Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you.

Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others”.

People often ask me, “How can I find the strength to forgive? I don’t have it in me.” I don’t have it in me either! The only place I’ve ever found the strength to forgive is in remembering how much Jesus has forgiven me. When I remember that, then he gives me the strength and grace to forgive others.

If you don’t forgive, you’re not going to enjoy God’s vision for the rest of your life, because unforgiveness will keep you stuck in the past.

Forgive - and then get on with your life. This doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be consequences for what somebody did to you. It just means that you let go of your anger and hurt and give it to God so that you can move on with God’s purpose for your life.

When that seems impossible - when you feel like you can’t be gracious toward someone - remember this: Jesus forgave you.

Remembering the grace God has shown you will give you the strength to be gracious to and forgive others.

Take the Next Step of Faith
By Pastor Okiror Samuel

“And Jesus said to him, ‘Go; your faith has made you well.’ And immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road."_ Mark 10:52*

I don’t know what step you need to take next, but I do know that you need to take it.

Your next step may be to accept Jesus Christ into your life or to be baptized. Maybe you need to join a church, get into a small group, tithe, find a ministry, go on a mission trip, or invite a friend to church.

I don’t know what your next step is, but I do know this: You have one. God will never be finished taking you deeper in faith. There is always a next step.

If you don’t take the next step, you’re going to get stuck in a rut. And the only difference between a grave and a rut is the length. If you don’t move forward in faith, you will die. Your heart will grow cold, and you will feel more distant from God. He isn’t going to help you with steps two, three, four, or five until you take step one.

If you’re asking God to help you with something, he may be asking you, “Why haven’t you done what I’ve already told you to do?” You may have been planning to do something. Stop planning and just do it.

It is important to recognise that community development is a practice with a well-developed theoretical framework. https://www.facebook.com/106917191477498/posts/257773363058546/?app=fbl Community development practitioners should be familiar, through training or experience, with the theory, practice and principles of community development work.
https://youtu.be/HW5siMa8FaI

In saying this, it is important that community development practitioners have effective and respectful relationships with the communities they are working with, and sometimes the ability to be able to build these relationships with the community is a more important quality in a worker than having a community development qualification. In these instances, it is important that the worker is supported by someone who has a good understanding of community development theory and practice.

Blessings

PERSISTENCE PAYS

In the parable of the persistent widow (Luke 18:1-8), a poor, powerless person (the widow) persists in nagging a corrupt, powerful person (the judge) to do justice for her. The parable assumes John the Baptist’s teaching that holding a position of power and leadership obligates you to work justly, especially on behalf of the poor and weak. But Jesus focuses the parable on a different point, that we are “to pray always and to not lose heart” (Luke 18:1). He identifies the hearers - us - with the woman, and the prayed-to person - God - with the corrupt judge, a strange combination. Assuming that Jesus doesn’t mean that God is corrupt, the point must be that if persistence pays off with a corrupt human of limited power, how much more will it pay off with a just God of infinite power.

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING...???

Is your glass half-empty or half-full? How you answer this age-old question about positive thinking may reflect your outlook on life, your attitude toward yourself, and whether you're optimistic or pessimistic — and it may even affect your health.

Indeed, some studies show that personality traits such as optimism and pessimism can affect many areas of your health and well-being. The positive thinking that usually comes with optimism is a key part of effective stress management. And effective stress management is associated with many health benefits. If you tend to be pessimistic, don't despair - we can learn and practice positive thinking skills for the betterment of your destiny.

#MarriageBoundaries

Being married is hard work! When you got married you probably said something that resembled the traditional marriage vows: “I will love you, and comfort you, and keep you in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, keep unto you as long as we both shall live. And I take you for better or worse, richer or poorer, in sickness and in health; to love and cherish you until death do us part.” But, did you really realize what you were getting into?

You probably got married as friends, but then found yourselves running into difficulty because you each had your own way of living and doing. You came from one family, and your partner came from another family, and those families were different.

Your job as a couple is to create some boundaries and rules that will guide you in your marriage. But if you’ve never created any rules before, and you or your partner don’t like rules and boundaries, it won’t be an easy task.

One of the reasons this process is so difficult is outlined very clearly for us in Isaiah 53:6: “We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us have turned to his own way.” We’re all human, wanting to do it our “own way.” But the reality is one can’t have it their way and make mutually agreeable rules and guidelines. If your attitude is “my way is more important to me than the marriage,” you won’t be able to function as a married couple.

The good news is that your marriage doesn’t need to be a failure. If you find you have the problem of self-centeredness, talk to God about it, He can change your heart. Ezekiel 36:26 tells us, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you.” There’s hope my friend, and it’s in God!

Take a step . . .
Take a few minutes to think about your marriage relationship: Why did you initially marry your spouse? What qualities does your marriage partner possess that you appreciate? In what ways do you want your “own way” in the relationship? Ask God to change your heart toward your spouse.

Scripture: Acts 1:1-14

Waiting on the Lord may be one of the most difficult aspects of the Christian life. When Jesus promised that he would return, he instructed his followers to wait. That is easier said than done. So what do we do in the meantime? What do we do while we wait?

BE ENCOURAGED WITH THIS SCRIPTURE👇👇👇

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 ESV

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

When Ye Are in the Service of Your Fellow Beings Ye Are Only in the Service of Your God.

ARE YOU CALLED TO MINISTRY?

You are called to ministry. Whether God has called you to be a pastor or a first-rate engineer, if you are a born-again Christian, God has a purpose for your life that will further the kingdom of God. He strategically places His people all over the world—not only in pulpits and on mission fields, but in homes, offices, schools and the marketplace.

But to succeed in ministry, it isn’t as simple as heeding the call. To be effective and fulfill God’s purpose for your ministry, you need to get on the road to excellence, run the race, and “obtain the prize.”

The ministry of Jesus was one of excellence, and one that laid the foundation for success. Once you know your calling, to follow Jesus’ example, you must pursue excellence in every aspect of your life and ministry.

ABOUT US

We the members of the Anchor of Light Ministries believe and trust that Christianity can help in addressing and solving Spiritual, Social, Intellectual, Economical and Physical needs of people in Uganda, east – Africa, Africa, and the World at large.

Now therefore, we form ourselves into a Non-Governmental Christian Organization to help the masses achieve their life expectations and believe that God desires mankind to be born again in the sense of John 3:3 and to be the Light of the World as it records in the book of Matthew 5:14.

Light:"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid" (Matthew 5:14). According to the Bible, we are to let our light shine for several reasons: 1) That they may see our good works and glorify the Father, and 2) That others may come to the Light. (Matthew 5:14-16).

And concerning “Life” however, Jesus Christ says, "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10).

General information

There is a new crisis in Africa everyday. Poverty… AIDS… orphans… famine… war… But in the midst of these challenges there is a great crisis that is going unnoticed… a crisis in LEADERSHIP. Abuses of power… corruption in business… political scandals… and the church is no exception to this crisis… from misuse of power to false teaching, even a false gospel at times… Africa, and most especially the church in Africa, is desperate for Christian leaders to rise up. Bill Hybels once said, “The local church is the hope of the world, and its future rests primarily in the hands of its leaders.” If you can train a leader you can transform a church… if you can transform a church you can transform a community… and if you can transform a community you can transform a country. Truly, Africa needs Christian leaders to rise up to share the compassion of Christ and the gospel of hope in a society that is desperately longing for transformation. Light of The WORLD Divine Ministries Int'l is founded based on this great need. Nelson Mandela once said: "Africa is beyond bemoaning the past for its problems. The task of undoing that past is on the shoulders of African leaders themselves, with the support of those willing to join in a continental renewal. We have a new generation of leaders who know that Africa must take responsibility for its own destiny, that Africa will uplift itself only by its own efforts in partnership with those who wish her well."
