Our Churches in Kampala are places where we meet regularly to worship God, to encourage one another, to help meet the needs of the community, and to tell other people about the fact that Jesus Christ is alive today and making a difference in the world.
Mission: KIC is an all-nations group of Christians seeking to experience and share the Kingdom of God in Kampala. The people who meet there each week are fairly ordinary people who come from all over the world and who now live and work in and around Kampala. We are drawn from all Christian traditions (and none), but find our unity in our worship of and witness to the Lord Jesus Christ. Our services are quite informal, with plenty of music, special times for the children, a friendly atmosphere, and teaching from the Bible dealing with the issues which face all of us in our everyday lives. We see much of the teaching as helping people creatively to relate the message of the Bible to life in a post-modern world. During the week there are all kinds of other things that go on as part of the church's life and the members of the church are themselves involved in all aspects of the life of the local community - as well as having a keen interest in global justice and political and social issues. Bible study groups, prayer meetings, and many other events which happen on a more occasional basis, including groups for those who want to explore what Christianity is all about. We would love to keep in touch with all of you.
If you would like to be updated directly about anything going on at the church please contact our administrator Catherine on [email protected] and request to join the Lifelines mailing list. This is the main way we will be connecting as family during this period.
Unless the directives change we plan to meet again at Heritage School on Sunday 26th April but we will keep you informed.
Our weekly sermons will be available through Lifelines as an audio link along with Junior Church lessons and suggestions for worship.
May God bless you all richly during these troubled and confusing times.
Message on COVID-19 from Ian Wardle,Team Leader at KICH
Dear Church. A number of people are asking if we are still meeting with the restrictions in place around the threat of Covid 19. The answer is yes we are, unless we are requested to stop. I am keeping an eye on any changes in directives from the government and also keeping in contact with Dick Stockley for any advice he can offer from a medical perspective.
For now, we have everything in place at all 3 congregations to keep running. We request that should you feel unwell do not attend church to avoid any risk of infecting others. Should any directive change I will let you know asap by email.
On another note, the verse below has been on my mind this morning. I have chosen to quote it from the amplified version:
2 Timothy 1:7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgement and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].
It seems that the world is in a panic at the moment. News, social media and many conversations are loaded with the latest views, opinions and conspiracy theories about “the Virus”...
The fear, that is spreading faster than the virus, is not from God. It is not of His spirit. As such we should rebuke any fear creeping into our thought lives just now and focus on what God has given us.
Part of the fear is the realization that we (man) are not in control of what is happening. This should not be new to us. We know and trust that God is in control, even at times when the world around us seems to be falling off balance.
He HAS given us a spirit of power and love. This is a great time to use what He has given us. The power to bring hope, healing, deliverance and love to those around us
He has also given us sound judgement, a balanced mind, to sift the avalanche of news, reject what does not build us up and make sensible, rational decisions about what matters.
And personal discipline, self control, not to react with panic, greed and fear. But rather to allow the Holy Spirit to take each thought captive unto Jesus as life goes on, work continues and we look to the good of others over ourselves.

The Leadership Team of KIC Heritage, a congregation forming part of the Kampala International Church (KIC) http://www.kampalainternationalchurch.com/, would like to invite applications for the position of Congregational Team Leader for KIC Heritage congregation. The Heritage Leadership Team (HLT) is guided by the KIC Overall Leadership Team. A copy of our constitution is available on request.
