Meet our friends at WorldShare with whom we are building a bigger and safer space for pregnant and parenting teens in Uganda?
🎉❤️🏠 We're super excited to share that the new Wakisa Ministries centre for pregnant mothers in Uganda is now open!
Thanks to the generosity of many supporters, women from Wakisa have now moved into their new accommodation. The new centre promises to revolutionise the care that Wakisa is able to provide, as the extra space means Wakisa will now have the ability for over 50 women to stay for up to 3 months, rather than the previous 2-week limit.
The relocation had its challenges because it's the wet season in Uganda and the roads were very slippery, so we praise God that the relocation was a huge success and was completed safely!
Grateful for The Hope Venture with whom we continue to educate and care for young mothers.
Throughout the month of November, we're wanting to highlight each of our partners overseas and express our thankfulness for them. They're our "boots on the ground" and there's no way we would be able to do what we do without them!
First up, Vivian! Vivian is our Uganda coordinator and she oversees the Wakisa Ministries, and through that, also our Uganda student sponsorships. She has a genuine heart to care for young pregnant moms and wants to help empower them. We trust her dearly, have eaten in her home, and call her friend. She is one special woman and we are so, so thankful for her!
We have moved to Buyera, Wakiso
Wakisa Ministries, a safe space for pregnant and parenting teens.
Sending you good energy and God's blessings as the month comes to an end.

Working together to provide a safe and inclusive environment for young mothers in Uganda
The COVID-19 pandemic and the ensuing lockdown on life as we know it have created a multitude of problems in society, one of which has been an increase in teenage pregnancies across the country. However, it is still one of the least responded to issues inspite of the fact that teenage pregnancy poses a threat to the health, emotional and mental well-being being of the girl affected.
We need creative local solutions so as to save a generation. Will these pregnant teens go back to school? Are they accessing health care? What is the future of the girls?
Today @The Remnant Generation hosted partners from Children at Risk Action Network, Wakisa Ministries and Set Her Free for a Teenage Mothers' Working Group meeting to find solutions to the problem and discuss interventions that need to be implemented by crisis pregnancy centres in order to reduce and respond to teenage pregnancy.
The meeting developed a clear response action plan on stakeholder engagement, collaborations, policy issues, resource mobilization, beneficiaries, and child protection.

Today's Infant Care class by aunt Marion is about bathing the baby.
The two most important things are;
1. Warm clean water
2. Prepare the baby towel and clothes before the bath
Don't forget to breast feed so the baby can stay warm.
We begin the day with prayer and exercise. How do you begin your day?
This is heart breaking.
