Midweek Service: Preparing for the King

Midweek Service: Preparing for the King (Matt 25:1-13)

Hour of Prayer

“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you." (Matt 5:11-12)

When the bridegroom comes: Are you ready?

“Therefore, keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.” “But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” – Matt 25:13, Amos 5:24

When the bridegroom comes:
Will your lamps be burning bright; will your robes be shining white? Will the sorrows of the past all be changed to joy at last?
Will you join the ransomed host or be found among the lost? When the Lord shall call his own, can you stand before the throne?
Will your wearied heart rejoice at the sound of Jesus voice? Oh, be ready for that day, with your sins all washed away!

Psa 20:7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

Cornerstone Fusion Youth Club- 03/11/2020,

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
(1 Timothy 2:1-2)

Abba Father we thank you for yet another day.
We thank You for the peaceful presidential nominations yesterday .
We surrender today into Your hands and ask for Your peace to reign.

We ask you Lord, to call our leaders and political candidates to a new level of respect and civility.

Amen.

All Saints: By the Blood of the Lamb.

Who are the saints? Are saints the heavenly congregation we read about in Revelation? Or is it the special people that the Pope has beatified and canonized? What do you mean when you confess in the creeds: “I believe in the communion of saints”? Is it true, as Donnie McClurkin sang, that a saint is just a sinner who fell down, and got up?

All Saints: By the Blood of the Lamb (Preacher: Rev. Jaspher Oluge)
"They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence. They shall hunger no more." (Rev. 7:14-16)

The Call of Philip and Nathanel by Tr. Aurthur.

"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matthew 5:3-12)

Great Commandment

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. … Love your neighbour as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matt 22:37-40)

The opportunity for Jesus to teach about the great commandment came when a Pharisee expert in the Law tested him with the question: ‘Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?’ A case of weighing the Law; we will also encounter Jesus and the Law, Love in the Law and Grace for the Law.

In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness; with you, evil people are not welcome. The arrogant cannot stand in your presence. You hate all who do wrong; you destroy those who tell lies. The bloodthirsty and deceitful you, LORD, detest. But I, by your great love, can come into your house; in reverence I bow down toward your holy temple.
(Psalms 5:3-7)

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Abba Father we pray for our young people. Shine your truth into their hearts, O Lord. May they hear you in music, see you in art, and experience you through the love and care of family, friends, and teachers. Build your hope into their lives as they encounter the power of nature, the majesty of the oceans, and the beauty in creation. Sow your wisdom into their minds as they read their bibles, discuss deeper issues of life, or encounter hardships or difficulties. Weave your love into their dreams. Help them find vision in their interests, opportunities for their talents, and aspirations for their abilities. May this new generation of your men and women know, love, and serve you. Amen.

When a lawyer and expert of the law asked Jesus what the most important commandment is, Jesus responded, "To love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind...The second is to love your neighbor as yourself."

Psalm 20

Hour of Prayer

"No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me," declares the LORD.

Show me your Glory.

What is the most powerful prayer that has ever been made? Though this question is subjective, it is worth giving attention. Is it the prayer that caused the lame to walk, or that which drove out some stubborn demon? Or bringing some financial breakthrough?

The most powerful prayer that Moses prayed though He had sorted out impossible challenges through prayer and hearing God, we find in Exodus 33 a unique prayer that he prayed from outside the camp in a special tent: “Now, show me your glory!”
