Village Hope International

Village Hope International is a Ugandan based NGO that promotes and provides accessibility to Health and Educational services for Vulnerable Children.

One of every five children in Uganda is in especially difficult circumstances and most are between 6 and 15 years of age. In Uganda culture, family and community have always traditionally taken care of such children. However, the crisis has now overburdened households. Many communities are finding it too difficult to give the care and support they need. With the added burdens of poverty, HIV/AIDS and domestic violence, many communities are facing a crisis situation. There is need to help households meet the financial, social psychological, educational and health needs of the children in especially difficult circumstances. On the other hand, natural resources constitute the primary source of livelihood for the majority of Ugandans. Indeed, the economy of Uganda depends on exploiting of the natural resources and will remain so for the foreseeable future. Management of these natural resources is therefore important and critical to Uganda`s long term development. The main strength of Uganda in the environment sector is that it is richly endowed with the bounties of nature – good soils and biodiversity, simple vegetation cover, attractive climate and abundant water resources. In some areas, these gifts of nature still remain intact, thereby availing the opportunity to utilize them sustainably. However, climate change which has started manifesting itself through increased frequency of extreme weather events such as droughts, floods and landslides, is posing a serious threat to Uganda`s natural resources, social and economic development. Climate change has already impacted on a number of communities making them more vulnerable hence the need for effective ecological adaptation. Triggered by the above, Village Hope International (VHI), a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) has positioned itself to empower communities in Generation Care and Ecological Adaptation through Synergies.

Mission: Empowering communities in Generation Care and Ecological Adaptation through Synergies

It requires endless research, team work and zeal to serve to promote children's rights to modern Healthcare and Education services.

Good nutrition boosts a child's immune System, promotes brain development and a powerful factor in a child's general body growth.

aljazeera.com Up to 34 killed after a river in eastern Uganda burst its banks, sending thick sludge and rocks through villages.

Our presence in the hard-to-reach Villages of Africa is the meaning embedded in our Name and mission. Our determination is to continue serving the far and hardly thought of communities in Uganda.

Every one calls it Art and Craft, we call it; a Resilient livelihood practice.
Care givers of VHI supported children are celebrating the successful completion of a short course in Art and Craft development.
Through art and Crafts development, vulnerable families can raise an extra income to support their children's health and educational needs.

Maternal Health is part of our Health Care program.

Preventive Care and immunization promotes healthy growth and development of children.
Thank you doctor Ellen and your entire team for being part of Village Hope International in implementing this project.

We support them with scholastic materials to keep them in school.
In this, we have always scored double; prevented early marriages and eradicated illeteracy.
Thank you Dr. Ellen for your support.

[11/25/16]   This is the time for every African tongue to say "NO" to Inhuman African cultural Rituals, Traditions and Practices that violate the Rights of women and Children.
Together, we can stop the practice of Human Sacrifice. African Women are as Equally vulnerable to the vice as the children. Lets join hands and protect women and Children from Ritual murders. Human Sacrifice is a symble of lack of respect for the inherent value and worth of a human life.
Traditional Healers have become Traditional Killers.
Human Sacrifice does not in any way yield wealth. It is backwardness and a crime in any society on Earth. Village Hope International condemns it.
Together, we can stop loosing again any other life of a woman or a child to Ritual murders.
Rest in Peace Aisha.

Malaria is a leading life threatening disease of the blood caused by a parasite, which is transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected female mosquito. Thousands of children and adults in Sub- Saharan Africa suffer bouts of malaria every year. Children are particularly vulnerable to malaria than adults with thousands of deaths recorded each year in each country. 25th April is the World Malaria day, Village Hope International is joining the rest of the International community in recognizing this day by increasing malaria awareness in rural communities, strengthening both preventive and treatment measures for this child killer disease.
