The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,[a] 2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, 3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.

Mission: Changing and Equipping Lives

Operating as usual

For thought

Yesterday after church, I took my family on a lake cruise experience as a part of testing the business we would like to start with the boat.

As we were cruising, my wife says I NOW SEE WHERE YOU ARE HEADED!! Why, I ask? She responds saying that she is an end result believer!! That means she believes after seeing.

Next month on the 27th, we will make 14yrs of marriage and like I have said before, at times its easier running a business when compared to marriage. Marriage is a union of 2 imperfect humans from 2 different walks of life and it can be challenging even if you belong to same tribe, same village, same christian background, etc.

Marriage is a real bed of roses (roses have thorns) but even with the thorns the fight to make it work is worthy.

My wife was a missionary when we got married and yes, yours truly was and is still a business man. Generally speaking, an average missionary has a very different opinion about making money and business in general. Our challenges in marriage have nothing to do with color but has everything to do with our beliefs as humans. I never look at my wife in terms of color.....its the outsiders who do!!

Am a communicative businessman which means I think aloud (I speak about ideas and possibilities all the time). In the beginning my wife thought I was going to excute every idea that I spoke about. That worried her a lot.

With my wife being an end result believer, I have had to prove to her through results. I still realize the game of proving isn't over yet and this not because she undermines my abilities but purely because that is who she is.

Many men, not everybody that I have spoken to, tend to assume women are always the problem (I dont speak to the personal things of women often, so I do not assume to know). Even the fairly lazy chaps still blame women though most ladies will believe if they see results.

When your spouse sees results, they believe more in your abilities and hence allow you to adventure in your business pursuits.

Got to run......

The biggest secrets for turning your small business into a big business (Part 2)
__Our ultimate objective as entrepreneurs is to turn our businesses into institutions.

All around us are businesses that have been around for decades, and some even for hundreds of years. The entrepreneurs who built these businesses are long gone, yet the companies continue to innovate by generating new products and services, sometimes expanding into humongous organizations.

Many of the founders would be totally astounded if they were ever to return and see what they started!

How do these companies survive and thrive without their founders?

__These companies have been able to re-invent themselves continuously and find new entrepreneurial leadership to take them forward.

As an exercise, why don't you draw a list of companies that you deal with, or know that have been there for a long time. Ask yourself, "Who started this company?"

All these great companies were once started by young entrepreneurs just like you are right now. Long before they became global economic powerhouses, young entrepreneurs toiled for years to get capital, to hire people... Well, to deal with all the challenges YOU are dealing with right now!

Have you ever stopped to imagine just how much profit companies like Coca-Cola, Barclays Bank, Boeing, Mercedes-Benz, and many others have generated since their founders died?

___Where do those profits go now, since some of their founders no longer even have heirs to the great wealth machines they created?

These giant companies are listed on stock exchanges in the country of their founders, as well as other global exchanges. Their shares are now mostly owned by pension funds, and insurance companies, as well as private individuals. You might even be enjoying some of the profits through your pension fund, or insurance policy!

You'll often hear politicians from the countries where these companies come from talk proudly refer to "our" companies or "our" national assets, or "our" champions... and let me tell you, those politicians will go out and fight for those companies to ensure they're successful, because they know they bring lasting prosperity and national prestige back to the mother country.

__Africa has to build its own, just like China, India, Brazil and many others are now doing. We have to build and support our own wealth creation machines -- companies that will fight in the global market place for us, even after the founder has long gone. And we have to do this without protectionism and xenophobia.

There are a number of simple things we have to do. Here are just a few:

#1. The entrepreneurs who build these companies must build them for the LONG term. This means we (as entrepreneurs) must first allow the business to become separate from us (as I said in Part One of this series). Then allow the business to become an institution that could function effectively without us (as founding entrepreneurs).

#2. We must allow our businesses to hire professionals (some of whom will be entrepreneurs themselves).

#3. We must ensure the company has an institutional DNA that allows it to grow even without us as founders.

This calls for citizens to see beyond the entrepreneurs who set them up. This isn't easy in Africa, because our historical experience was from multinational companies that we saw as belonging to others.

__It calls for a change of mindset towards our own companies, particularly by policy makers.

For example, you might not like the flamboyant guy who runs around with a flashy car, but what if he leaves behind your country's own Apple? (There were a lot of people who thought Steve Jobs was arrogant and anti-social when he was alive, but let me tell you, the American economy is oiled by billions generated today by the company he left them).

We must think beyond the individual who sets up and runs a business (even if we don't like their lifestyle or political views). Our common "wealth" will come from our ability to support the institutional development of our own African companies!

At the national level, we must start looking at the businesses created by our entrepreneurs, irrespective of their size today, as "national enterprises." There should be no difference between so called "private" enterprise and a state-owned company. They are both national enterprises, even if they are foreign owned (100%).

(I don't teach politics; I teach economic national prosperity.)

As an exercise today, I would like you to list some national and pan-African businesses that you believe are or will become our future African champions. I want to see a minimum of 10 such companies from you!

One day you will be as proud of an African company as China is proud of Huawei and America is of Coca-Cola.

To be continued. . .

My dear friends, with our tongues we speak both praises and curses. We praise our Lord and Father, and we curse people who were created to be like God, and this isn't right.

[09/28/14]   What has God done in your life that you grateful for this month?? Go a head and share it with someone here

[09/08/14]   Hello there, Zpc sends you greetings and praying that you have a blessed today. Just a thought for the day to Christ' loved ones. What I sharing happened to me last week , as a church we have been on time of seeking God for Among other things reaching out to the lost souls with creativity of course. On Thursday as I was arriving at church for a meeting I bumped into a beautiful young lady who had just run mad. She seemingly was in her mid twenties and like most of is would do, the first reaction would be running for your life or else she pounces on you, in my spirit I sensed I was to do something about it and as many of us would do is to first say a prayer for your protection, secondly, thanking God that you are not in a state like hers then thirdly would be God, by your power and might touch and deliver her. I said a prayer that she be delivered. Friday morning as I was leaving home for the market "my weekly routine" bumped into this very lady time just a distance of about 100 meters from my home and I did the same thing "say a prayer for her not to get to me or I get bitten then at a distance prayed for her deliverence. As I quickly bypassed her, I heard her sat in English "young man, please come and help carry carry my luggage so thAt I can go to your fathers home" I had moved a distance not too far to notice what the what was going on . In shock I saw the young boy help lift the luggage to the lady's head . Instantly I knew that the reason this lady came my was twice was an opportunity for me to reach out to her. Iost it and I knew that I was the one God wanted to reach out to her which could have possibly brought about God's deliverance if I touched her as I prayed. She actually caused no harm to the school boy who helped her lift her luggage to her head. Lessons to learn, we need not wait for an "opportune time to reach out for the time is always now, we do not need to have a destined place for is to meet ,we meet people in need every where, we do not need to lean on our own understanding of event but to involve God in all our ways. Jesus healed by touching them that needed to to ministered to ,we have the power to Arest the enemy as we and do the same, we are not given a spirit of fear........... Church begins in your heart not a building. So, the opportunity is now. Don't shun it for you have all it takes, win souls for the kingdom start now and start there . Love you all readers andGod bless.
