On Thursday 14th Dec after receiving input on various topics and a Mass animated by Gulu and Tororo Ecclesiastical Provinces and celebrated by Bishop Francis Aquirinus Kibira of Kasese, today’s (Friday 15th Dec 2017) Mass at the National Youth Convention has been animated by Kampala Ecclesiastical Province with Rt.Rev Lambert Bainomugisha the Bishop Auxiliary of Mbarara being the Main Celebrant. The Chairman of UEC Lay Apostolate, Rt. Rev. Paul Ssemogerere of Kasana- Luweero is also with the youth and a big number of Youth Chaplains and other priests. All the 19 Catholic Dioceses in Uganda are represented, and a delegation from Rwanda and Burundi. A group of People with hearing impairment is also in attendance. More than 4000 youth (more ere expected tomorrow for the closing ceremony) have gathered for this great annual event held on rotational basis according to the four Catholic Ecclesiastical Provinces. The convention has had various activities taking place, among them, including: Catechesis which included an input on the Youth Synod, the talk on economic empowerment by officials from Centenary Bank, a topic on Youth and Sexuality presented by a team from the UEC Uganda Catholic Medical Bureau, and a presentation on the Youth Empowerment Program by officials from the Ministry of Gender. Activities of today will be closed with Net Ball between the defending champions of Kampala and the hosts -Kabale, volley ball, a curtain raiser soccer match between Youth Chaplains and the Youth, followed by a final match between the Defending champions of Jinja playing against Kabale.
