All Saints' Cathedral, Kampala

Celebrated 100 years in 2012, in the NEW CATHEDRAL Building All Saints started as a Chapel and has gone through the ages. We are now building a 4000 seater Sanctuary and the Lord has done great things that have been marvelous in our eyes.

Mission: Vision: “Christians Rooted in Christ, Growing in Faith and Abounding in Fruitfulness” Mission: Glorify God by; worshiping God, participating in the fulfilment of the Great Commission, nurturing the saints, caring for the diverse community, and developing committed leaders” Below are the norms, traits and values that we cherish and shall exhibit as we execute our duties and responsibilities. ASCK Core Values Holiness & Integrity Living sanctified lives, walking uprightly we keep our consciences clear before God and man (Acts 24:16, Ps 24:25, 1 Chron.31:18, 1 Cor.9:26-27) Commitment We demonstrate resolve and willingness to give ourselves and our resources in advancing the Kingdom of God (Rev.2:2-3) Compassion We touch lives through Christ by delivering the oppressed, healing the sick, releasing the captives, binding up the broken hearted and comforting those who mourn. (Isaiah 61:1-3) Excellence Whatever we do, we do it with all our might. Our resolve is to accomplish distinguished and exceptional performance and being efficient in achieving results in the ministry of Christ, (2 Cor. 8:7, Eccl.9:10, Matt.25:23, Phil.4:8 and Phil 1:9-10). Christ- Centered All we do as Church revolves around the person of Jesus Christ who is God the Son; and so we put Christ before everything, (1Cor.2:1-2); (1 Cor.1:23-24); (Col.1:15-17). Stewardship Our purpose in the world as assigned by God who gives us strength is to take care of His creation (Philippians 4:13). We identify God as the owner and ourselves as the managers of His creation. We are Gods fellow workers and Gods field (1 Cor. 3-9). Loving We obey God’s greatest commandment through our total devotion to Him and our concern for one another. (John 13:34, 1 Cor.13:4-7.) We value people We no longer regard anyone from a worldly perspective (2 Cor.5:16). We regard and treat each person that comes to our Church irrespective of their status as important; appreciate their unique gifts and talents and facilitate each person to contribute to the building of the body of Christ. (Luke 12:6-7).

DAY BREAK DEVOTIONAL
Saturday, 16th January 2021.

An obvious plot to kill Nehemiah is snuffed out, and the wall is completed;
Text: Nehemiah 6:1-19

Several times the enemies of God’s people try to persuade Nehemiah to
meet with them. Their plan was to kill him at that meeting. He knew they had no interest in the city, and he was aware of their plot, so he refused to go.

Nehemiah was not intimidated by their threats, and he continued the good
work. In fifty two days the wall was completed. Now the enemies were the
ones intimidated (v.16).

Jesus, the perfect Kingdom builder, was constantly confronted by opposition, and the enemies of truth were frequently looking for opportunities to kill Him.
But Jesus was never intimidated, their threats had no effect, and He continued the work of His earthly ministry. It was impossible to thwart His eternal plan of salvation, including His death on the cross, according to His pre-determined time. We are a blessed people to belong to such a King. Put your hand to the work, in confidence, in spite of opposition.

Meditate on verse 3. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, give me the understanding that serving You is a great work, and therefore I should not be side-tracked. Amen.

DAY BREAK DEVOTIONAL
Friday, 15th January 2021.
Nehemiah gives justice and protection to the poor;
Text: Nehemiah 5:1-19

The wall is not yet finished, but Nehemiah learned that some of the wealthy people were mistreating the poor, lending them money and imposing high rates on interest of them, and even taking property and children as payment!

Yahweh said through Moses that His people should freely loan to the poor
and charge no interest (Lev.25:35-37). Walls cannot protect a corrupt Kingdom.

Nehemiah became very angry with the nobles, and he demanded that they
stop the “usury” and return all that was taken unjustly (v.11). He reminded
them that they were slaves. Should they now enslave their brethren?
We who belong to Christ are spiritual descendants of Abraham and Moses, and this command is for us, as well. When we advance loans to fellow believers, we should not add interest. Should a poor believer repay what he borrowed? Yes, of course. But the giver should not add interest. Everything we have is given to us by God, and Jesus gave us His life. Therefore, we must be quick to give freely and gladly to our brethren in need. Worldly kingdoms are built on injustice, oppression, corruption, etc. The Kingdom of Christ is built on justice, mercy, righteousness, etc. –LOVE !

Meditate on verse 12. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, forgive me where I have cheated
others and help me make good on my debts. Amen.

DAY BREAK DEVOTIONAL
Thursday, 14th January 2021.
The builders are mocked, threatened, and discouraged;
Text: Nehemiah 4:1-23

As the people of God are re-building the walls, the enemies became very angry and visited the construction site. The enemies mocked the builders, saying the work was impossible to do, and what they did was weak. However, the project continued; and it was later learned that the enemies were going to come and attack them. Understandably the people became discouraged (v.5). It was decided that the workers would also carry weapons and have guards at night.

God was frustrating the plans of the enemies’ (v.15).
If a person can be discouraged when building a wall, how much more
discouraged will he be when he is mocked for working at something seen only by faith! Jesus was mocked for the friends He had and for the work He did. Even when they murdered Him, they mocked while He was dying. Kingdom work will always be opposed somehow. We, too, will be mocked, as it is for many of our brethren around the world. Many of them are even killed. Discouragement is understandable, but let us persevere! Our weapons are not swords or guns.

Our weapons are spiritual (2 Cor.10:3-5) – prayer and the Bible’s message of God’s grace in Jesus Christ. Jesus has already won this war. Press on, brethren!

One day all of this seemingly difficulty work will be finished.
Meditate on verse 4. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Heavenly Father, the Lord of heaven and earth, silence and frustrate the plans of our enemies. Amen.

The names of those who worked at rebuilding the wall;
Text: Nehemiah 3:1-32

Nehemiah examined the damage around Jerusalem (2:13), he knew what had to be done, and he called the people to the task. This chapter is a list of those participating in the re-building of the Jerusalem wall. The priests helped (v.1), some of the skilled craftsmen worked (v.31), etc., but sadly some of the so called “important” people refused (v.5). Generally, all those living in Jerusalem were eager to contribute to the effort.

Jesus Christ is calling His people to work at building His Kingdom. Of course, Jesus could do it all by Himself just by speaking the Word, but He chooses to use His people. There are a few Christians who are important persons in society, but almost all of us are ordinary people. God gives each of us different abilities/ gifts to contribute to the building of His Church. There used to be apostles and prophets, however, such offices are now no more. Some are evangelists, pastors, teachers, deacons, some are praying, cleaning the chapel, visiting the sick, etc. We all are members of the Body of Christ (1 Cor.12), and we all have work to do in His Kingdom. Whatever the Lord assigns you, do it for His glory and for the good of His people (Col.3:23).

Meditate on verse 5. What are you learning from this verse?
Heavenly Father, help me to be humble before You and all the people. Help me participate in fulfilling the Great Commission in my generation. Amen.

Our Story

All Saints’ Cathedral Kampala (ASCK) is a city Parish of Kampala Diocese and is the seat of the Bishop of the Diocese of Kampala who is also the Archbishop of the Province of the Church of Uganda.

The parish was founded in 1912 as a chaplaincy of a European colonial hospital and has grown and attained the status of Cathedral for the Archbishop of Church of Uganda.

The Cathedral is governed by the Canons of Church of Uganda and the ASCK Constitution. The Cathedral is managed by the Provost who is assisted by a team of clergy and non-ordained staff. Members of the Cathedral parish participate in various ministries and fellowships in addition to the worship services.

We are now building a 5,000 seater Sanctuary and the Lord has done great things that have been marvelous in our eyes.
