Imitate Church

~Imitating Christ by the grace of God We are a church whose heart and passion is enriching people in the knowledge of the Son [ Jesus Christ] - Eph 4:13 We do this by centering our focus to the teaching of the uncompromising WORD.

We also believe that every member is an important part of the body of Christ and so we establish souls in their divine purposes through the five fold ministry. We are wholly devoted to the preaching of the Grace and we believe that Grace is the person of Jesus.

Happy Birthday Baba, Our Pastor Sir🙏🏾

The privilege and blessed opportunity of having you is something we
shall never take for granted. Our knowing of you has brought
everything rewarding in humility, transparency and love!

Thank you for being a father to everyone of us Sir. Thank you for
being patient with us; for being sensitive enough to recognise God’s
hand upon our lives individually and allowing us to grow into that
recognition too. Thank you for never loosing heart for the sake of the
message, even when we gave you every reason to. Thank you for making
us see God’s plan and purpose for our lives; we are better because of
you pastor sir! Thank you for being loud with your convictions; the
message is honoured deeply in our hearts because of that Sir.

In you we have found a pattern to follow; we are glad we can check our
actions with yours in every area and see what you did and didn’t do.
Your life has a grip on us and our observation of it is something to
ponder. You have made following God’s will easier for us. You have
brought us both much sanity in serving God devotedly and ease in the

Our love and honour for you grows in leaps and bounds.

We are forever grateful Sir,

Imitate Church.

📖 Matthew 3:1-3 "In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight."

It's very clear from the scriptures why John the Baptist came on the scene. And it is evident that he stayed on that mission - of preaching the kingdom! We see him on the same mission in the account of John:

📖 John 1:15 "John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me."

This is the same with Jesus; he had the same mission - preaching the kingdom!

📖 Matthew 4:17 "From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

The key question here is, are you preaching the gospel? Where are your 'twelve'? If you have been preaching, where are the people you have preached to? Otherwise if the church doesn't appreciate the fact that the reason for sitting on those chairs is to be responsible and go preach the gospel to others, who will preach to them?

God's desire from the beginning has been the preaching of the Gospel. John came preaching and so did Jesus. So, if the Gospel is to go out, it has to be by preaching. John the Baptist did not come singing or doing drama but he came preaching!

The reason as to why Jesus asked the twelve to follow him was for the same mission; to make fishers of men! That is the reason he told them to follow him!

📖 Matthew 4:19 "And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."

Every believer ought to ask themselves: Why are we in a local church? Why do we come often? Why do we gather at all? Everyone in the local church should be a fisher of men! Jesus told them, 'follow me & I will make you fishers of men'. You ought to have men you have 'fished' to the assembly. That means everyone of us needs to be taught and trained how to fish men.

Another important thing to notice in how Jesus called the Twelve (Matthew 4:18-22) is that the call to make disciples has no convenience! The call to make disciples is actually priority in our lives because that's the mission of our faith. Because we are supposed to serve Jesus Christ, the call of his mission to fish men is priority! Jesus called and trained men to be fishers of men.

📖 Mark 3:14 "And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,"

Another salient question here is, are you preaching the gospel? If so, where are your 'twelve'. Jesus in Mark 3:14 appointed men that he may send them forth to preach. The reason you're here (at church) is so that you are trained and sent out. After sometime , you should have a mindset to go out and preach. We are not here to stay seated. If we don't change that mindset, we won't preach the gospel!

📖 Matthew 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,"

It would be very funny for us to be seated and call ourselves a local church without making disciples. Many people that think church is where we come to get rich and satisfy all our needs e.t.c, have no clue of what salvation really is.

We are here (at church), so that we can be trained to be disciples of Jesus! So that when we go out, we meet people who also teach others to become disciples of Jesus Christ! The emphasis of the gathering of the local church is, therefore, to make fishers of men. The emphasis is to multiply ourselves in other people so that other people may do the same.

Wherever life finds you, preach the gospel!

📖 Acts 1:8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

In your resolutions this year, is the preaching of the gospel included?

PASS IT ON (Sermon Notes 05.01.20)

📖 John 3:16 (KJV)
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

📖 Romans 5:8 (KJV)
“But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

📖 Titus 3:4-6 (KJV)
“But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour”

📖 Ephesians 2:4-6 (KJV)
“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus”

📖 1John 3:16 (KJV)
“Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”

“The body can be trained and subjected. Nobody is born with habits and interests; these are all developed. So, don’t give up on the first knock your body gives you! Refuse to reduce your Christian walk to the comfort of your life because if you do, you will never be fervent. Your walk should not be consumer-based! Don’t reduce your pursuit of God to what is natural, and nothing should suffocate your devotion in prayer and studying of the word. There is a degree of discipline every believer must have!”

A prayerless lifestyle makes a powerless believer. Powerlessness is a direct outcome of a prayerless lifestyle. If you ONLY rely on church prayer meetings to build your prayer life, you are in trouble.

📖 Matthew 6:6 (KJV)
“But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father which is in secret; and your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly.”

The scripture in view says, ‘when you pray’ and not ‘if you pray’. This implies that prayer is not a suggestion. The believer MUST pray; not sometimes but ALWAYS! You must invest in your prayer life.

Prayer helps and changes you:
✔️Boldness and capacity are built in prayer.
✔️Prayer changes your heart and attitudes.
✔️In prayer, compassion for men and souls is stirred up.
✔️Staying in prayer keeps you from walking in the flesh.

You have to consistently cultivate a lifestyle of prayer such that it becomes your custom. Aggressively spend time in prayer!

A very happy birthday to you Sir.
What a gift you are to us as a local church and the whole body of Christ!

Thank you for setting us on a course that we must follow; for aligning our pursuits and focus in this gospel Sir.
As a function of the training we have and continue to receive from your ministry Sir, we can attest to the fact that we have not been left the same! We have seen and continue to see lives changed, many things learnt and unlearnt, many attitudes corrected, numerous unnecessary habits dropped; and yet we are better for it Sir.
We are forever grateful!

Because age is on your side, we pray that;
✔️Good health abounds towards you
✔️Your burden for the gospel remains His and His yours
✔️Your focus remains unwavering, constant in all seasons!

“We gather at church so that we can be trained to be disciples of Jesus. The emphasis of the gathering of the local church is therefore, to make disciples of men!” ~ Pr. Godwin Ssesazi 📌

We embrace the new by giving ourselves wholly and devotedly as students to men entrusted to us by God! Join us tomorrow as we gather with fellow brethren and continue to receive training and instructions that will shape us into becoming fishers of men wherever life finds us.

See you at 8am!

[03/10/20]   📖 CHRISTO ACADEMY : You can have what you say!

“Christianity is called the great confession; our faith is a speaking faith. Therefore, we don’t tolerate mountains. Rather, we speak to them because our words give direction to the power of God! The believer must make use of his authority in the name of Jesus and keep affirming that which he/she believes in order to see it!”

Tomorrow 5pm,
We continue to delve into how a believer can change circumstances around them by making use of what they say! We further investigate:
✔️Do the words we say have an impact in our lives?
✔️What should a believer’s confession look like?
✔️How can I change circumstances around me?
✔️Does a believer have a faith problem?

All this and more!

See you there.

Hebrews 10:25 (KJV)
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together,as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

1 Corinthians 14:26 (KJV)
How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

When we gather we not only focus on being blessed but also being a blessing. As you prepare for tomorrow, pray for the minister, for yourselves that you may understand and determine to participate in the service unto edification.

Our attitude towards the reality of the word determines much in how we grow.
As we gather around the study of the word tomorrow, ensure that you maintain godly attitudes of reverence, honor and a teachable spirit!
You can determine that you will receive all that God has for you by;
✔️Praying for order throughout the meeting

“Our faith finds its perfect and complete expression when you have an accurate knowledge and understanding of every good thing in you in Christ Jesus!”

Tomorrow 5pm,
We continue with the series “What Now?”, in which we investigate and grow progressively in the knowledge of those realities every believer ought to become aware of in their walk.
All this through proper and systematic explanation of the scriptures. You, therefore, will do well to prepare your mind to learn and heart to receive of the same.

Carry your bible, notebook and pen (we are ardent students of the scriptures, and so we must act as such).

See you there!

Sunday service; 8:00am

1Timothy 2:3-4
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

The next thing after receiving Christ is being taught of, learning and there by growing in the knowledge of God. The amplified Bible reads...
1 Timothy 2:4
[4]Who wishes all men to be saved and [increasingly] to perceive and recognize and discern and know precisely and correctly the [divine] Truth.

This is God's wisdom for us. It is what makes the sharing of our faith effectual as Paul writes to Philemon.
Philemon 1:6 KJV
That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

Join us tomorrow as we assemble around His word. We'll edified and we'll minister to one another.

Carry your Bible, pen and notebook. Call someone or even pick them up.

Prayers start at 8:00am

See you then

[02/05/20]   CHRISTO ACADEMY! 📢

Today we explore a series that is fundamental in our faith walk.
Every believer has the responsibility to find out the realities in Him in Christ Jesus.
This envelopes his/her growth in the knowledge of God.
What did God do through Jesus Christ? What have we received in and through Christ?
What facts about salvation should remain our realities?
What next do I have to do after salvation?
This will be the core of our studies!

It’s yet another opportunity for Christ to be explained in simplicity and clarity,His Spirit given a free course and for believers to be edified!

See you at 5pm!

“The ability of God to save is in the gospel only. There can be no salvation outside the gospel of Christ!”

Tomorrow 8am,
We continue in the new series “NOW WHAT?” We will explore the realities of our salvation more with the knowledge that, our daily living is founded on these!

See you there!
