Imitate Church

~Revealing Christ by teaching the gospel and equipping the saints for the work of ministry. Our goal is to present every man perfect in Christ Jesus and so, our labors are to reconcile the lost back to God, establish and ground believers in the faith.

As a local church, we congregate around the person of Christ. We believe and teach that Christ is the message of the Bible. The approach of what we preach and teach is in the light of what He has done by faith through grace, in His life, burial, death, resurrection and ascension. Our main gatherings are:
1. Mid-week evening service (Wednesdays at 5pm)
2. Sunday meetings in our house churches located in three different areas (Ntinda, Kungu and Kiwatule) on Sundays at 8am.

Operating as usual

“He is called the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God. There can’t be revelation where there is no knowledge!”

Tomorrow 5pm,
We have an opportunity to grow in the knowledge of God. As we continue with the series ‘The Humanity of God in Jesus' determine that you will receive all that God has for you.

In not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, believers are provoked (stimulated and encouraged) unto love and good works. We have so learnt that we were not saved into isolation and as such, maintaining company with fellow believers is very fundamental to our growth!

Tomorrow 5pm,
We are presented with such an opportunity. Stir up your expectation knowing that in giving yourself to a gathering, your life is progressively changing for good!

See you there!

If many of us who are attending the Bible Seminar would speak the glory of God, the work of Christ, before the meeting together as we pray, it will be so full of God's glory and the Spirit of God will be in so great demonstration in the meeting.

Say these words as we approach the day!

I allow the Spirit of God demonstrate Himself through me.
When I come amongst believers, I receive the ministration of the Spirit.

[01/11/21]   Utterance given on 19th June 2019

No promise of mine is without ability to find fulfillment. No word shall proceed, or no word has proceeded from my Father and has come back void and this won’t be the first.

Nothing I have said will come back to me void. Receive my words! Receive my words!
Guard them jealously
Meditate on them
Speak them
Say them

For when they seem far, they are actually near. Or when it seems impossible, lift your head up because I do it.
I do not work as man works.
I do not work in the seasons of man.
I work within the power of my word.
My word is power.

Hearken to my word!
Listen to my word. Listen to my word. Listen to my word.
My words are light,
You see darkness because you have rejected my words.

But keep my words on your mouth and you will see.
Keep my words to your mind
You will see possibilities
As I say it, it is performing
As you see it, it is performing
Keep those words, they will light your path
Keep those words, they will direct you!

In you we have found a pattern to follow; we are glad we can check our
actions with yours in every area and see what you did and didn’t do.

📖 Matthew 3:1-3 "In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight."

It's very clear from the scriptures why John the Baptist came on the scene. And it is evident that he stayed on that mission - of preaching the kingdom! We see him on the same mission in the account of John:

📖 John 1:15 "John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me."

This is the same with Jesus; he had the same mission - preaching the kingdom!

📖 Matthew 4:17 "From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

The key question here is, are you preaching the gospel? Where are your 'twelve'? If you have been preaching, where are the people you have preached to? Otherwise if the church doesn't appreciate the fact that the reason for sitting on those chairs is to be responsible and go preach the gospel to others, who will preach to them?

God's desire from the beginning has been the preaching of the Gospel. John came preaching and so did Jesus. So, if the Gospel is to go out, it has to be by preaching. John the Baptist did not come singing or doing drama but he came preaching!

The reason as to why Jesus asked the twelve to follow him was for the same mission; to make fishers of men! That is the reason he told them to follow him!

📖 Matthew 4:19 "And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."

Every believer ought to ask themselves: Why are we in a local church? Why do we come often? Why do we gather at all? Everyone in the local church should be a fisher of men! Jesus told them, 'follow me & I will make you fishers of men'. You ought to have men you have 'fished' to the assembly. That means everyone of us needs to be taught and trained how to fish men.

Another important thing to notice in how Jesus called the Twelve (Matthew 4:18-22) is that the call to make disciples has no convenience! The call to make disciples is actually priority in our lives because that's the mission of our faith. Because we are supposed to serve Jesus Christ, the call of his mission to fish men is priority! Jesus called and trained men to be fishers of men.

📖 Mark 3:14 "And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,"

Another salient question here is, are you preaching the gospel? If so, where are your 'twelve'. Jesus in Mark 3:14 appointed men that he may send them forth to preach. The reason you're here (at church) is so that you are trained and sent out. After sometime , you should have a mindset to go out and preach. We are not here to stay seated. If we don't change that mindset, we won't preach the gospel!

📖 Matthew 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,"

It would be very funny for us to be seated and call ourselves a local church without making disciples. Many people that think church is where we come to get rich and satisfy all our needs e.t.c, have no clue of what salvation really is.

We are here (at church), so that we can be trained to be disciples of Jesus! So that when we go out, we meet people who also teach others to become disciples of Jesus Christ! The emphasis of the gathering of the local church is, therefore, to make fishers of men. The emphasis is to multiply ourselves in other people so that other people may do the same.

Wherever life finds you, preach the gospel!

📖 Acts 1:8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

In your resolutions this year, is the preaching of the gospel included?

PASS IT ON (Sermon Notes 05.01.20)

📖 John 3:16 (KJV)
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

📖 Romans 5:8 (KJV)
“But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

📖 Titus 3:4-6 (KJV)
“But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour”

📖 Ephesians 2:4-6 (KJV)
“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus”

📖 1John 3:16 (KJV)
“Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”

“The body can be trained and subjected. Nobody is born with habits and interests; these are all developed. So, don’t give up on the first knock your body gives you! Refuse to reduce your Christian walk to the comfort of your life because if you do, you will never be fervent. Your walk should not be consumer-based! Don’t reduce your pursuit of God to what is natural, and nothing should suffocate your devotion in prayer and studying of the word. There is a degree of discipline every believer must have!”

©️ Imitate Church

A prayerless lifestyle makes a powerless believer. Powerlessness is a direct outcome of a prayerless lifestyle. If you ONLY rely on church prayer meetings to build your prayer life, you are in trouble.

📖 Matthew 6:6 (KJV)
“But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father which is in secret; and your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly.”

The scripture in view says, ‘when you pray’ and not ‘if you pray’. This implies that prayer is not a suggestion. The believer MUST pray; not sometimes but ALWAYS! You must invest in your prayer life.

Prayer helps and changes you:
✔️Boldness and capacity are built in prayer.
✔️Prayer changes your heart and attitudes.
✔️In prayer, compassion for men and souls is stirred up.
✔️Staying in prayer keeps you from walking in the flesh.

You have to consistently cultivate a lifestyle of prayer such that it becomes your custom. Aggressively spend time in prayer!
