[02/28/20]   "Believe Not Every Spirit"

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world (1 John 4:1)

In 2 Chronicles 18:21, the Bible tells us that a lying spirit was in the mouths of the prophets to cause them to utter lies. That spirit hasn't died, and because what he did worked, there're other spirits who do the same today. They take over people and make them utter lies without restraint.

That's why it's important that you test every spirit; don't just believe everything; believe only that which is true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous, and praise-worthy. Don't believe a rumour; like some would say, "In every rumour, there's an element of truth". How could there be an element of truth in a rumour founded on falsehood? What element of truth was there when they lied against Jesus? The Bible says they hated Him without a cause, and lied against Him (Matthew 26:59).

Such things still happen today! There're still lying spirits. It's the same devil; he has no new tricks. His strategies are the same. If he could be a lying spirit in the mouths of prophets in the Old Testament, you can imagine what he could be in, and do with, those who let him.

He can be a lying spirit in the mouth of children against their parents, or vice versa. He could be a lying spirit in the mouth of a friend or family member against another friend or other family members. He's just that way; he's Satan; the deceiver and manipulator. However, we're not ignorant of his devices.

Follow God's Word, and allow the Holy Spirit guide you in all things; He's the Spirit of truth, and He alone can guide you in the path of truth always.

Speak The Word...Speak Wisdom!

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual (1 Corinthians 2:12-13).

Part of the ministry of the Holy Spirit in your life is to help you discover your heritage and inheritance in Christ Jesus. Then, as He unveils them to you, you're expected to speak them: "...Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth". Notice that it didn't say, "which things also we speak of"; rather, it says we speak them. Just like it says in 1 Corinthians 2:6, "Howbeit we speak wisdom"; we don't talk about wisdom; we speak wisdom, and wisdom is the Word of God.

There're many who "speak of" wisdom, but don't speak wisdom; they can write books on wisdom, but they don't speak wisdom. Speaking wisdom is speaking the Word. For example, the Word says you're a partaker of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4); that's the wisdom of God. Therefore, when you, on the basis of that scripture, declare, "I'm an associate of the God-kind; a partaker of His grace, glory, and expression of His righteousness", you're speaking wisdom.

When you declare, "All my needs are supplied according to God's riches in glory by Christ Jesus", despite inflation, recession, and global economic meltdown, you're speaking the wisdom of God. When you say, "I have the life of God in me; I live in divine health twenty-four hours a day", in spite of the pain you may be feeling, you're speaking wisdom.
People may jeer or mock at you for speaking the wisdom of God, but always remember that the wisdom of God is incongruous with the world's system. When you make it a practice to always speak the wisdom of God, you'll be misunderstood by many, especially those who are ruled by the senses, but don't let it deter you. Declare what the Word says concerning you, irrespective of the situation.
Declare your righteousness, health, dominion, and oneness with the Lord with boldness. Speak the wisdom of God always and your life will glorify God.

The Effects Of Grace

WHO, WHEN HE CAME, AND HAD SEEN THE GRACE OF GOD, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord (Acts 11:23).

Luke, by the inspiration of the Spirit, explains in the verse above, how Barnabas and Paul went to visit the brethren, and they saw the grace of God. What does it mean to "See the grace of God?"

"Grace" is from the Greek word "charis"; it refers to the divine influence on the heart reflected in the life of a man. It's the outward expression, or the outworking of an inward divine influence in your heart.

Simply put, it's the inner working of the glory and the power of God in your life that radiates, shines, and reflects on the outside. So, what these Apostles saw was an outer reflection of the inner working of the power, and life, and nature of God in them - they saw the effects of that grace.

You only see the outworking of the grace of God. It's like saying "We saw the wind blowing". You really don't see the wind; what you see are the effects of the wind. The effects could be moving objects or the branches of a tree moving to and fro; then you can immediately decipher that it's a strong wind. You don't see the wind; what you see are the effects!

It's the same way with the description in the opening verse. The grace of God on its own can't be seen until you see what it produces. So, the Lord impresses on your heart, through His Word and the Holy Spirit, and whatever is deposited by that influence, is seen on the outside; it shows or reveals itself on the outside. Then we can say, just like the early Church, "We saw the grace of God on them".

That's why it's important to grow in grace. 2 Peter 3:18 tells us, "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ...." The word "grow" is taken from the Greek word "auxano"; it means "to give increase to". To grow in grace is to increase in the workings of the power of God in your life. And as you grow in grace, more of the glory of God shines, radiates, and is seen through you. Halleluiah!

Glorified!

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified (Romans 8:29-30).

The latter part of our opening scripture doesn't say, "...whom he justified, them shall he glorify"; rather, it says, "...them he also glorified"; He's already done it. There're Christians who are reaching out for the glory, always praying and asking for the glory of God to come down. Sometimes, in a service, a singer could even be called to sing, in order "to bring the glory down". They fail to realize that the one who's born again is born into the glory of God.

We're the Church of Jesus Christ, and the Lord Jesus has given us the glory: "And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one" (John 17:22). So, you don't need anyone to bring the glory down. You've been glorified.

Imagine you were in a room or outside somewhere, and someone said, "Let's bring air into this place"; that wouldn't make sense. However, some people may start looking out for where the air is going to come in through, but the truth is, they had been breathing the air all the while, even though they might not have been conscious of it.

Now that we're used to certain things, like air, it doesn't mean we should no longer be conscious of their reality. But blessed be God! The glory of God in us isn't such that we can ignore. That glory is in our spirit; it increases as we pray, study, and meditate on the Word of God. You've been glorified. Therefore, walk in the glory; live in the consciousness of who you are in Christ!

Love's Call, The Greatest Call!

And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13).

I once listened to a dear minister of God preach and during the course of her teaching, she made a statement that has stayed with me for so long. She said, "Lord Jesus, I have nothing to give you but my love". I thought, "What could be better than that?" What else could we give Him, but our love!

In Proverbs 23:26, the Lord said, "My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways." That's what He's asking for; nothing could be better to give Him, than your love. This is so important, because it's all you need to do His work. Your love for Him will propel you to live for Him and fulfil His call on your life. The question is, "Do you love Jesus?" If you do, whether or not you heard a voice "calling" you into the ministry, makes no difference. What will count with God is how much you love Him, and what that love propels you to do to the glory of His name.

If you preach the Gospel, for example, and you feel you aren't "called" into the ministry, look into your heart; do you love the Lord? If you do, then it means you already heeded love's call, and that's the greatest call. If the devil tries to make you feel you're not called, you declare, "I love the Lord, and I follow Him, because I love Him". That will paralyze Satan right away, because he can't stand love.

You can never love Him and fail. It's not possible. Your love for the Master is guaranteed to always win. Practise loving Jesus. Protect your love for Him and keep it aflame all the time. Love can be quenched; so make sure you stir your love and passion for Him in a way that nothing and no one can dissipate it.

Prayer: Dear Lord, I love you with all my heart, and I thank you for the privilege and blessing of serving you and living for you! Nothing compares to the extraordinary love-union and oneness that I share with you, and for this, I'm eternally grateful! I'm propelled and compelled by your love to keep establishing your righteousness in the earth, and in the hearts of men, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Enjoy His Goodness!

The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods (Psalm 24:1-2).

As God's children, we're the seed of Abraham, and that makes us heirs according to the promise: "And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise" (Galatians 3:29). We're heirs of God; and if the earth belongs to Him, then it belongs to us too, since we're joint heirs with Christ: "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ..." (Romans 8:17). So, you see, the world belongs to us; it's ours to enjoy.

The Bible says the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord (Psalm 33:5). This is so wonderful! Think about it: in spite of the terrible things we hear happening in the world, the earth is still full of God's goodness. Notice it doesn't say "The earth has God's goodness", but that it's "full of His goodness". The goodness of God in the earth is enough for everyone to enjoy.

Read the words of the Master, as He emphasised in very clear-cut terms the reason He came: "I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)" (John 10:10 AMP). He didn't just come for us to have life, but that we may enjoy it also. You have to learn to enjoy whatever God gives you, because it shows your appreciation. If you don't enjoy them, you can't really appreciate them, and therefore, can't be truly thankful.

Start from where you are - with what you have - and what you do! Enjoy your work, your phone, your house, your clothes, your food! You owe it to yourself to enjoy your life! Be happy about yourself. Laugh more. Celebrate God's goodness and excellence in your life.

Confession: The Lord has made my life beautiful; I rejoice in His infinite grace and boundless love, for He has caused me to dwell in prosperity in Christ Jesus! I'm living triumphantly, every day, enjoying my life, and celebrating the greatness of God in me. Halleluiah!

What is grace? Grace means more than unmerited favor; it refers to the divine influence on the human spirit. It’s the outworking or outward reflection of the beauty, power, perfection, excellence, virtue and glory of divinity in your human spirit. It’s a supernatural endowment that causes you to flourish and excel in all you do.

Grace ... be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord 2 Peter 1:2

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ...... 2 Peter 3:18

Join us this Sunday 10 as we dig more into this Years Prophetic Word | Great Great. Acts 4:33 Come discover how to multiply the Grace on Your Life

You’re Above All Things!

And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church (Ephesians 1:22).

1 Corinthians 15:25, talking about the Lord Jesus, says, “For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.” This isn’t about Jesus reigning in heaven; rather, it’s about Him reigning in the earth. Legally, God has put all things under the feet of Jesus (Ephesians 1:22). Isaiah 9:6 says, “…and the government shall be upon his shoulder….” This is so powerful, because it introduces our connection to it. If He had said, “and the government shall be upon His head,” that would have meant the Lord Jesus, because He’s the head, and we’re His body.

Therefore, the government being upon His shoulders means His reign, His rulership and authority, is upon the Church; its borne by us. Halleluiah! This means even if you were the least in the Church—the last little toe of the foot—you’re still above all things, because all things have been placed under the feet of Jesus. This is a settled fact in heaven. God already said so, and nothing can change it. The Lord Jesus, through the Church, must reign over all things.

What this means is that in these last days, you’re expected to arise, take up the arms of faith, and be strengthened in the things of God. Speak the Word with boldness and see it come to pass. The world and the fullness thereof has been given to you. Therefore, be bold to possess the earth, because the rulership is in your hands. Exercise dominion and take charge of your life; command every contrary storm to be calm in the Name of Jesus! This 2020 Refuse to be sick, poor, or defeated. Rule over circumstances.

Confession...
I’m what God says I am. Christ in me is my victory and glory in this life! I’m a member of His body, of His flesh and of His bones, ruling, reigning, and prevailing with Christ over the world and circumstances! Greater is He that’s in me than he that’s in the world.
