Y.E.S Centre Nsambya

Youth Encounter the Savior Center Nsambya. The vision of the Centre is to see Catholic youth and children spearheading the development in the church while exhibiting exemplary lives to rest of the population.

Youth Encounter the Saviour (YES) is a Roman Catholic Programme, founded by a Jesuit Priest in 1989. The main focus of the YES Programme was to have the youth encounter Jesus at Retreats that were organised over 3-4 days at various locations all over the country. Following the departure of the Jesuit Priest, Rev. Fr. Champagne Roland (a White Father of Missions of Africa) took over the Programme and was granted some buildings at Nsambya Parish. The buildings were opened up to provide library services and to hold Sunday mass for the youth in Nsambya Parish at what is now called the YES Centre. When Fr. Champagne left, the White Fathers could not continue to run the programme and it was handed over to the Archdiocesan Youth Office and Fr. Joseph Luzindana who has been running the YES Centre for two (2) years now. The principles and reason for the establishment YES Centre are still relevant and critical in the development of the children and youth today.

Mission: The vision of the Centre is to see Catholic youth and children spearheading the development in the church while exhibiting exemplary lives to rest of the population. Our mission is to use the Word of God to transform the youth spiritually, emotionally, intellectually and physically so that they can become the people God intended them to be. Philippians 4: 13 contains the words of Paul to Timothy ‘his son’, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”

Merry Christmas from our Chaplain..

[12/16/19]   This page has been too silent... Let's get it going by wishing our dear Fr. Joseph Luzindana a happy birthday!!!

Fr Luzindana: From street boy to priest

monitor.co.ug Life at university was fun but Fr Luzindana somehow, found time to say the rosary in hiding. “My friends did not consider being spiritual as fun. So, I would go to the bushes on River Nile to pray. One day, as I was praying I suddenly got a strong call from Mother Mary.”

[12/16/15]   Sending Happy Birthday greetings to our dearest Fr. Joseph Luzindana... Please take a moment to pray for him, that the Lord will continue to bless his Ministry, and give him a call to wish him a lovely day.

Mathew 6:16

[11/14/12]   A minister parked his car in a no-parking zone in a round kampala streets because he was short of time and couldn't find a space with a meter. So he put a note under the windshield wiper that read: "I have circled the street 100 times. If I don't park here, I'll miss my appointment. FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES."
When he returned, he found a citation from a traffic officer along with this note. "I've circled this Street for 10 years. If I don't give you a ticket, I'll lose my job. LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION."
