Presentation of the Lord in the Temple

"We pray for the grace to see Jesus especially in the needy.................…. "

Today, Mother Church gives us the feast of the presentation of the Lord. In the Gospel, there are different people presented; Jesus, Mary, Joseph, Simeon, Anne, and scribes and Pharisees.

Which Character among those who were present are you? The scribes and Pharisees didn't see anything special and therefore missed to encounter the Lord Jesus who was presented in the temple.

What made Simeon special? We are told that Simeon was righteous and devort. Anne too was special as she never left the temple all her life. These two were able to recognise the Messiah.

When we have piety and are devort, we shall encounter Jesus. We pray for the grace to see Jesus especially in the needy. Whatever we do to the very least of these we do it to Jesus.

We pray to our Mother Mary to always lead us to her son Jesus Christ.

PRAYER TO START THE WEEK

Father, I come against every arrow and trap that anyone or the devil has set to destroy my life or distort my plans and the blessings of God for my life in name of Jesus.

And I come against every accusation of the devil and every decree, every voice and every word that has been spoken against my destiny and I overcome them by the blood of Jesus.

Father, let your glory shine upon my life, my career, my marriage, my family, my academics, my business,. in Jesus name. Father, bless the works of my hands, let everything I lay my hands upon prosper and cause this land to be fruitful to me.

Let me eat and enjoy the good of this land in the name of Jesus. Lord, I commit all my plans into your mighty hands and I have confidence and trust that you will help me to establish them in name of Jesus. Nothing I lay my hands upon shall be impossible for me because I can do all things through Christ who is my strength.

God, I know and believe that you are able to do beyond what I am seeking or asking for, and even beyond anything I can imagine in the name of Jesus. I come against every form of worry in my life. Even though things may seem impossible but I trust and believe that with God nothing shall be impossible.

I have confidence in God that I will be victorious at the end in the name of Jesus.

Faith in whatever we do moves mountains.

A blessed day Good people.

OUR CATHEDRAL

The towering House of God, St. Mary’s and Sacred Heart Cathedral, Lubaga, stands on top of one of the original seven hills that make up the city of Kampala. Visible from all angles, especially in Kampala, St Mary's and Sacred Heart Cathedral Rubaga, is indeed a city landmark hardly missed by visitors coming to the Pearl of Africa. Kampala has been blessed to host three Pontiffs in this Cathedral: Pope Paul VI in 1969, Pope John Paul II in 1993 and Pope Francis in 2015.
