We really appreciate your help
There is a lot of selfless giving going on in the world today. People are donating their time and resources to those who are down and destitute. It warms your heart to see all of the acts of kindness going on. One famous chef provided over three million meals in one week to those who have lost their jobs and are struggling. Jesus told us to show compassion to those who need it. Don't just go through the motions. Show you care. Matthew 9:13 But go and learn what this means: 'I DESIRE COMPASSION, AND NOT SACRIFICE,' for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners. ” https://www.centerofhopechurch-uganda.com/verse-of-the-day/show-compassion/

“The liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free.”

Galatians 5:1

This “liberty” makes us free to heaven’s charter—the Bible. Here is a choice passage, believer, “When thou passest through the rivers, I will be with thee.” You are free to that. Here is another: “The mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed, but my kindness shall not depart from thee”; you are free to that. You are a welcome guest at the table of the promises. Scripture is a never-failing treasury filled with boundless stores of grace. It is the bank of heaven; you may draw from it as much as you please, without let or hindrance. Come in faith and you are welcome to all covenant blessings. There is not a promise in the Word which shall be withheld. In the depths of tribulations let this freedom comfort you; amidst waves of distress let it cheer you; when sorrows surround thee let it be thy solace. This is thy Father’s love-token; thou art free to it at all times. Thou art also free to the throne of grace. It is the believer’s privilege to have access at all times to his heavenly Father. Whatever our desires, our difficulties, our wants, we are at liberty to spread all before him. It matters not how much we may have sinned, we may ask and expect pardon. It signifies nothing how poor we are, we may plead his promise that he will provide all things needful. We have permission to approach his throne at all times in midnight’s darkest hour, or in noontide’s most burning heat. Exercise thy right, O believer, and live up to thy privilege. Thou art free to all that is treasured up in Christ wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. It matters not what thy need is, for there is fulness of supply in Christ, and it is there for thee. O what a “freedom” is thine! freedom from condemnation, freedom to the promises, freedom to the throne of grace, and at last freedom to enter heaven!

Set yourself apart

You set yourself apart by the work that you do. Are you highly valued by your superiors? Would you be greatly missed if you left? That is the example that Daniel set. As Christians, our work ethic should be such that we are indefensible. While it may not go noticed and promotions may not follow we do our work for the glory of God. Each day we seek His guidance and provision to do the work we are given.

Center of hope church - Writing on the wall

Writing on the Wall
By Pastor Steven Hynes K 18th/04/2020

Sometimes you can see the writing on the wall. Our future isn’t written on billboards. Wouldn’t it be nice if it was? As you are driving down the highway a sign lets you know what is coming in your future. That would be nice, but it’s not a reality. God chooses to get our attention in others ways. We see one such instance today in Daniel 5. King Belshazzar receives a message from God in a very abrupt way.

Have you heard the saying the Mighty Have Fallen? Have you ever seen a tree that has fallen? The Oak tree is the sturdiest tree known to man. Its thick wood and deep root system coupled with resistance towards drought enable it to weather almost anything. They can live to be hundreds of years old. So when a mighty oak falls, it is usually to some disease. Humans are similar. We can endure almost anything except for disease. One of the worst conditions is something doctors can’t detect on any test or scan; it’s pride. It eats us from the inside out and leaves us hollow.

Live With Conviction
It takes courage to live with conviction, to guide your life to a higher standard. Daniel was such a man. He wasn’t going to lower his expectations of himself to please other people. We need to live with the same conviction. Choose today to set a high standard for yourself.
Daniel 1:8

Just sitting here pondering and thinking about what Jesus christ went through and these came into my mind.
The crucifixion evokes the injustice latent in humanity, profound pain, the frivolity of those who avow loyality, the strain on all who love us , and how betrayal is always thirty pieces of silver away.
As i think of the passover , the sacrifical lamb of calvary and the egregious infiltration of this serial killing coronavirus, all of them leave us with unavoidable life lessons.
1. There is silver that lines the darkest cloud
2. Purpose will always out wrestle pain
3. The survival of the future masses requires the sacrifice of the present few
4. Politics and tempestuous sway of power are in the narrative of every pursuit to change the world.

Though we will suffer and that pain can make us feel bullied by our past, its on a day like today that we dethrone our egoistic ideology memorialized in the lyrics of the old Negro spiritual , " nobody knows the trouble we have seen! In truth, those intubated on respirators and those grieving families whose loved ones are stored in chillers parked on city streets defy such assertions and remind us that our afflictions are minuscule by comparison to the grief of this Good Friday.

As we Christians reminisce christ agony, lets not fail to see that even in His despair, there lies a message, not just the seven last words. I get the strongest message in his suffering moments of silence amid the sayings. It takes great strength to hang in there even when everything in us wants to get away. In short , let's protect ourselves in the quiet strength and discipline of enduring the pain of this hour or this period.

There is a class even in agony that rewards selfless sacrifice. And i learn that truth and mercy will always bless those who have endured the hardship of life. And it embeds in us the blessed hope if God's mercy, we will emerge despite our human depravity. This window of escape is inbred in our belief , indelibly imprinted in our inner convictions and screams triumphantly,.
Free at last, free at last
Thank God am free at last

Lets pray that all who suffer financially, physically, mentally and emotionally find that window and escape through that passage of grace and emerge stronger than ever .
God bless you all through this Easter period

Its Finished

ITS FINISHED

It’s Good Friday. Why is it called that when Jesus was put to death on the cross? It’s because of the work that was accomplished by Him that day. It appeared terrible for Him, but in reality, it was the whole reason He came to earth, and the end result of what was completed gives Him great joy. Jesus bridged the gap between God and us. He hung on the cross and took all of our sins so that we could be right with His Father. When Jesus uttered the words “It Is Finished,” He was done with that sacred work.

John 19:30
When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished,” and He bowed his head and gave up His spirit.

[03/24/20]   So many times we say that we can't serve God because we aren't whatever is needed. We're not talented enough or smart enough or whatever. But if you are in covenant with Jesus Christ, He is responsible for covering your weaknesses, for being your strength. He will give you His abilities for your disabilities!

We don't serve God to gain His acceptance; we are accepted so we serve God. We don't follow Him in order to be loved; we are loved so we follow Him.
Thanks Pastor Paul

Jepheth Was a son of a harlot, Rejected and disrespected by all the family members of the gideonites and all the elders of the children of Israel , No one wanted him to the extent of him being chased away from home to the land of Tob ( the land of the barbarians) . But God never looked at his background instead he looked at his devotion and submission to God ,
God built and established him in that land, and latter he who was rejected became the captain and the leader of the children of Israel in the war against the children of the ammonites . (Judges 10 )

The rehected stone that the people dispersed later became the corner stone, just like the way Jesus was rejected by his own people in the Book of Luke .

There is a wave of change positively that God is directing towards you , regardless of what people know about you , soon enough Things are changing and your life wont be the same again.

Make Your Mouth a Means of Grace

Let no rotten word come out of your mouth, but if something is good for the upbuilding of a need, (let that come out of your mouth) in order that it might give grace to those who hear.
I remember one time as a child that my mother actually washed my mouth out with soap. She took me to the bathroom sink, rubbed the bar of soap around in my mouth, and then rinsed it out and made me go to my room. Do you know what I had said? I think I had said, "Shut up!" to my sister.

The Battle for Purity of Mouth Starts in the Heart
Now why should my mother wash my mouth out with soap for saying, "Shut up!" to my sister? She did it because she believed Jesus when he said, "It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a man, but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man" (Matthew 15:11).

I had made myself dirty by saying, "Shut up," to my sister, and my mother had a white-hot zeal for my purity. So she used an unforgettable object lesson. I think she did right and I have risen up to call her blessed even this past week on her birthday.

"But really!" someone will say, "What's the big deal with saying, 'Shut up,' to your sister? It's not swearing. It's not taking the name of the Lord in vain. It's not a dirty word. Why get so worked up? What's really so bad about it?"

Have you ever been into a conflict and you can't get out of it.
Luke 12:11-12
When conflict occurs, the natural reaction is to blame someone else and defend yourself. But believers must respond differently. Once, I was publicly chastised for a wrong I had not committed. Thankfully, the Lord enabled me to remain calm rather than react angrily. Praying before doing anything else is the best response in a crisis. When we do, God supernaturally provides that which we can’t muster up ourselves.

Spiritual discernment. The Lord, who perfectly understands the source of every problem, can give us insight beyond our limited perspective. Perhaps there’s been a communication breakdown, a feeling of jealousy on the other person’s part, or a mistake we unknowingly made. The Holy Spirit can show us how to approach our accuser and see beyond hurtful words or actions.

A quiet spirit. Our human nature wants to react quickly so that we can defend ourselves. That’s why we must first deliberately focus our attention on the Lord and experience the inward peace He alone makes available to us (John 14:27).

Wisdom. Jesus told His disciples the Holy Spirit would give them wise words to say when they faced hostile authorities. He’ll do the same for you. Ask Him to put a seal on your lips until He shows you what to say and when (Psalm 141:3).
We don’t have to react to criticism with anger and self-protection the way the world does. Instead, we are called to represent Christ in every situation by depending on Him. In responding as He directs, we bring Him glory and cause unbelievers to want to know the source of our strength.

The Bible says , Come unto the lord in his courts with praise and melodies , Psalms 100.

Where does true deliverance come from? Only from God. Deliverance is found in God through deep reverential respect for his holiness and might, through living in covenant relationship with him, and through maintaining our focus on him. Any other roads to deliverance are false and ultimately prove themselves to be a snare. Like the tight rope walker whose eyes are not on the ground or the surroundings, but on the rope in front of him where he will walk, so too our eyes must be on the Lord. Only by looking to him will he lead us to safety.
Psalm 25:14-15

Let the young ones come to me for the kingdom of heaven is theirs , Mathew 19:14 www.stevenhynes.org www.wdfuganda.org

While it is naive, on one hand, to think that trusting in God makes all of our problems go away ,Christians have many of the same problems that unbelievers do because they share the same mortal flesh, on the other hand it's true. If we trust in God, we believe our work stands or falls in his hands and that ultimately we will share in his victorious and glorious presence. It means our lives will not be lived in vain. That's not just confidence; it's the foundation of true peace life lived to its fullest and richest, knowing that every moment of life matters and we don't need to be anxious about its results when we rest our life in the hands of the LORD.

let us seek ye first the presence of the Lord and the rest shall be added unto us , Mathew 6:33 .
All the problems and the worries will fade . i urge you today also to make God your priority

The requirements of morality and holiness are not temporary or fleeting because they reflect the nature of our Holy God who is eternal. They don't shift with the wishes of culture, but are true across cultures and times and wishes. We do not adapt God's will to our times, but we redeem our times by adapting our wills to his truth.
