HAPPY FIESTA!
St. Joseph the Worker.

MAY 1 | MEMORIAL OF ST. JOSEPH THE WORKER

The feast of St. Joseph the Worker was established by Pope Pius XII in 1955 in order to Christianize the concept of labor and give to all workmen a model and a protector. By the daily labor in his shop, offered to God with patience and joy, St. Joseph provided for the necessities of his holy spouse and of the Incarnate Son of God, and thus became an example to all laborers. "Workmen and all those laboring in conditions of poverty will have reasons to rejoice rather than grieve, since they have in common with the Holy Family daily preoccupations and cares" (Leo XIII).

• PRAYER

O God, Creator of all things, who laid down for the human race the law of work, graciously grant that by the example of Saint Joseph and under his patronage we may complete the works you set us to do and attain the rewards you promise. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

ALLELUIA! CHRIST IS RISEN!
HAPPY EASTER!

EASTER CATECHISM by Fr. Dem.
Bakit tayo nagsasagawa ng #Salubong? (Abet-abet)
#EasterSunday #EasterSeason

100% KATOLIKONG PINOY!

😇 Happy Easter!

THINGS TO REMEMBER

The Easter Vigil in the Holy Night

1. The Easter Vigil is the greatest and most noble of all solemnities. There should only be one celebration in each church.

2. The Vigil must take place during the night so that it begins after nightfall and ends before daybreak on Sunday.

3. If there is no Deacon, the Priest Celebrant assumes the role of the Deacon or by a concelebrant.

4. The lights in the church are turned off at the start of the Vigil.

5. Candles should be prepared for all the faithful who will participate in the Vigil.

6. A blazing fire is prepared in a suitable place outside the church. If, however, it is difficult to have it done outside the church, the blessing of fire is adapted to the circumstances.

7. The processional cross and candles are not carried.

8. The Priest and the faithful sign themselves with the Sign of the Cross. Then the Priest greets the assembled people in the usual way and briefly instructs them about the Easter Vigil.

9. When the tracing of the cross on the Paschal candle and of the other signs have been completed and when the five grains of incense have been inserted, the Priest lights the paschal candle from the newly blessed fire.

10. When the paschal candle has been lit, one of the ministers takes burning coals from the fire and places them in the thurible, after which the Priest puts incense into it in the usual way.

11. The thurifer with the smoking thurible precedes the Deacon or another minister who carries the paschal candle.

12. The order of lighting the candles is as follows:

a. After the singing of “The Light of Christ” with the response of the people (“Thanks be to God”), the Priest alone lights his candle from the paschal candle.

b. Only after the second singing are the candles of the people lighted.

13. And after the paschal candle has been placed on the candle stand next to the ambo or in the middle of the sanctuary, the lights throughout the church are lit, except for the altar candles.

14. Incense is used for the Easter Proclamation (Exsultet). The Priest puts incense into the thurible and blesses the incense as at the Gospel at Mass.

15. The Deacon asks for a blessing before doing the Proclamation. However, the blessing is omitted if the Proclamation is made by someone who is not a Deacon.

16. The Deacon, after incensing the book and the paschal candle, proclaims the Easter Proclamation at the ambo or at a lectern, with all standing and holding candles in their hands.

17. If a lay cantor sings the Proclamation, the words “Therefore, dearest friends” up to end of the invitation and the greeting “The Lord be with you” are omitted.

18. Nine readings are provided, namely seven from the Old Testament and two from the New Testament (the Epistle and the Gospel), all of which should be read whenever this can be done.

19. Nevertheless, where more serious pastoral circumstances demand it, the number of readings from the Old Testament may be reduced. At least three readings should be read from the Old Testament, both from the Law and from the Prophets, and their respective Responsorial Psalm should be sung.

20. It is never permitted that the reading from Exodus 14 with its canticle be omitted.

21. The altar candles are lit, after the last reading from the Old Testament with its Responsorial Psalm and its prayer. And if there are dedication candles in the church, they are also lighted.

22. Then the Priest intones the hymn “Gloria in Excelsis Deo” and all church bells are rung. The reading from the epistle of Paul to the Romans follows.

23. Then all stand as the Priest intones the Alleluia three times. The Priest raising his voice by a step each time, with all repeating it. If necessary, the psalmist intones the “Alleluia”.

24. Then the psalmist proclaims Psalm 117 with the people responding Alleluia.

25. The Priest, in the usual way, puts incense in the thurible and blesses the Deacon. The psalm with the alleluia response serves as the gospel acclamation. No other gospel acclamation is sung.

26. Lights are not carried at the Gospel.

27. The Homily is never to be omitted.

28. After the Homily the Baptismal Liturgy begins. The Priest and the ministers goes to the baptismal font, if this can be seen by the faithful. Otherwise a vessel with water is placed in the sanctuary.

29. The Order of the Baptismal Liturgy:

a. Litany of Saints

b. Blessing of the baptismal water and acclamation of the people.

c. The Priest questions the adults and the parents or godparents of the children, as is set out in the respective Rites of the Roman Ritual, in order for them to make the required renunciation.

d. Anointing of the adults with the Oil of Catechumens if it has not taken place beforehand.

e. The Priest questions the adults individually about the faith and, if there are children to be baptized, the Priest request the triple profession of faith from all the parents and godparents.

f. Then the Priest baptizes the adult elect and the children.

g. After the Baptism, the Priest anoints the infants with chrism.

h. Then, a white garment is given to each, whether adults or children.

i. Finally, the candles of the newly baptized are lighted.

30. The Litany is omitted, if there is no one to be baptized and if the Baptismal Font is not to be blessed.

31. The paschal candle may be lowered into the water during the prayer “May the power of the Holy Spirit, O Lord we pray” either once or three times if there is a Baptism or the Baptismal Font is blessed.

32. There is a specific Blessing of Water as prescribed in the Roman Missal if there is no one present to be baptized and the font is not to be blessed. (see no. 54 in the Roman Missal for the text).

33. If adults are to baptized, after their Baptism, the Sacrament of Confirmation is administered as

34. Then follows the Renewal of Baptismal Promises if it did not take place along with those who will be baptized.

35. The Creed is not said.

36. There is a Universal Prayer, in which the newly baptized participates for the first time.

37. It is desirable that the bread and wine be brought by the newly baptized or, if they are children, by their parents or godparents.

38. In the Eucharistic Prayer, a commemoration is made of the baptized and their godparents in accord with the formulas which are found in the Roman Missal and Roman Ritual for each of the Eucharistic Prayers.

39. Before the “Ecce Agnus Dei or Behold the Lamb of God”, the Priest may briefly address the newly baptized adult about receiving their first Communion.

40. It is desirable that the newly baptized receive Holy Communion under both kinds, together with their godparents and spouses, as well as their lay catechists. It is even appropriate that, with the consent of the Diocesan Bishop, that all the faithful be admitted to Holy Communion under both kinds

41. The Dismissal of the people is ended with “Alleluia, alleluia” and this practice is observed through the Octave of Easter.

42. The paschal candle is lit in all the more solemn liturgical celebrations.

“ON THE THIRD DAY" He rose again! ALLELUIA! #HolyWeek2019
