Just Listen from the Heart
God, bless those who listen, and who care. A friend of mine ministers to street kids. They act tough. They play loud music and strut around to mask their hurting hearts. My friend doesn't look down on them. He listens. He draws them out. Soon, their shallow bravado fades, and they begin to share their true feelings. My friend listens a lot. He hugs a lot. He cares a lot. God, bless him and his ministry to those who so desperately need a strong person who will listen and be their friend. In Jesus' name. Amen.
God, give me perspective
Dear God, I judge myself harshly. I'm on the lookout for every mistake that I might make - a wrong thought, a negative feeling, a bad attitude. And it's no surprise that what I expect, I find. And when I do, I pounce on my wrongdoing and wrestle it to the ground. It's a vicious cycle - expecting, finding, judging, and pounding. Even if my life today were 90% good, I would concentrate on the 10% bad. God, help me to loosen my strangle-hold on myself. Help me to lighten up. Give me perspective. Help me to see myself as You see me - forgiven and redeemed by the blood of Christ. Amen.
God, in ALL times may I serve You.
God, in happy times, may I praise You. In trying times, may I trust You. In quiet times, may I listen to You. In grief-stricken times, may I lean on You. In busy times, may I watch for You. God, in ALL times may I serve You. Through Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen.
Self-seeking at the Wrong Place
Almighty God, I confess that sometimes my heart is proud, my will is self-seeking, and my actions are heartless. I seek meaning in this world, when it is not to be found there. I seek happiness in "getting," when it is not to be found there. I seek answers in myself, when they are not to be found there. God, forgive my feverish searches in the wrong places. Free me to be Your own in everything I do. Through Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen.
Praising and honoring my only one God
Triune God, You are God the Father, the Son of God, and the Spirit of God . . . You are the Beginning and the End, the Great Jehovah, the Creator . . . You are the Almighty, the only wise God, and the Lord of Lords . . . You are the Giver of Life, the Water of Life, the Bread of Life . . . You are the King of Kings and the Light of the World . . . You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life . . . You are the same yesterday and today and forever . . . You are Redeemer and Ruler . . . You are all powerful, all knowing, and ever present . . . God, when I think that I am Yours, my heart sings with joy and praise and thanksgiving! Amen.

A Commandment, A Virtue and Filipino Values to Honor Our Parents
God, as elderly people live much longer, and succumb much later in life to debilitating diseases, I pray not only for them, but also for their children who bear increased burdens. Their middle years are filled with stress - earning a living, raising their own children, and still honoring their father and mother. God, grant them strength, patience, wisdom, and courage. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Caring for Others Replenishes my Soul
God, the parable of the good Samaritan nags at my heart. It makes me feel guilty. But I don't believe the purpose of the parable is to use guilt to motivate compassion. So what could it be? Is it about what's in my heart? Did the Samaritan identify with the man in the ditch because he, too, felt the wounds of being a nobody? If it is, God, use my own wounds and hurts to soften my heart, and to identify with those in other ditches. Teach me that caring for others doesn't deplete my soul - it replenishes my soul. In Jesus' name. Amen.
In The Season Of Advent
Almighty God, in the season of Advent, prepare my heart for a Christmas pilgrimage. Like the shepherds, who were busy at work, I need to hear once again the good tidings of great joy. Like the wise men, I need to follow Your star and bring gifts to Your Son. O God, may the majesty of a simple manger, the joys of a silent night, and the birth of a little baby, fill my heart and show in my life this Christmas, and always. Through Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen
GOD OF EVERY MOMENT
God, when my eyes are on You, every moment is filled with Your grace. Whether the moment brings ease or difficulty . . . whether the moment brings bliss or pain . . . whether the moment brings change or sameness . . . whether the moment brings fulfillment or longing. Whatever the moment brings, whether life or death, I know You are in control. Whatever the moment brings, I know that You use it for good to those who love You, to those who are called according to Your purpose. I praise You, the God of every moment, and of all time! In Jesus' name. Amen.
[11/27/13] HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR BELOVED DEAN, Dr. Milagros Canete! May you have more blessings. :)
Last night right after the Thursday Mass as weekly devotion to Saint Rita of Casia, Fr. Dennis Ruiz exposed the Blessed Sacrament. One of my prayers is the physical healing of my father in the hospital. I would like to commend this initiative of Fr. Dennis because after the exposition of Jesus last night, He answered my prayers. I received a PM in FB this morning from my sister that our papa had been already out from the hospital. Thanks to the intercession of my dear St. Rita of Cassia and St. Philomena. I remembered when the doctor said that my father will be discharged once his blood pressure and sugar become normal and he can eat normally without NGT.
Thanks be to God! It is a living witness that God is near to us always. He will always answer our prayer either yes or no especially if it is good for our soul. Lord thank you so much, you ease my pain. Also, thank you Lord for this opportunity because I became closer and prayerful even spending a minute with you in the Blessed Sacrament before I proceed to the classroom which is sometimes I take for granted since I live here in the seminary. Help me to continue doing this routine and be internalized as a way of life. May this experience would be an inspiration to those who feel the same scenario in life.
To all of my friends, thanks for your prayers. You are one of the sources of my strengths and persevering my vocation. God bless us always especially in time of calamity. We should not lost hope, God is with us.
[11/02/13] God, with my hand in Yours, I am ready to experience whatever lies ahead. I am prepared to trust You. I am prepared to trust Your timing. I am prepared to yield to Your will. God, with my hand in Yours, I know that I will be given sufficient strength to face each day, that I will be delivered, and that I will share in Christ's victory forever. Amen.
[10/30/13] Almighty and everlasting God, You are perfect love, and You are in perfect control of our world. Today, my prayer is simple -- help me to rest in You, without worry and without fear, for perfect love drives out fear. Through Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen.
[10/28/13] O God, when I'm afraid, help me not to lose the perspective that includes Your providence. Calm my anxious heart, and help me to love. When I'm lonely, help me not to lose the perspective that includes Your grace. Help me to feel Your nearness, and help me to love. When I'm overwhelmed, help me not to lose the perspective that includes Your strength. Help me to seek Your guidance, and help me to love. In Jesus' name. Amen.
God, I pray for those who feel betrayed . . . for those who are angry and resentful . . . for those who are keeping score and looking for ways to get even . . . for those who are bitter and bear a grudge . . . for those who are unforgiving and whose heart is a tight fist. God, unwind their knots. Grant them true repentance and forgiveness. Give them Your peace. Fill
their hearts with the love of Christ, Who bore ultimate betrayal, a sham trial, and a painful crucifixion. Yet He bore no anger or bitterness, and He forgave those who persecuted Him! I pray in His wonderful name. Amen.

I Want You to Know by Marcelino A. Rapayla Jr.
I want you to know that I grew up in a place which the people are conservative with traditional values. That is why I have difficulty in initiating a discussion about an organ donation. Most are not even comfortable discussing funeral arrangements openly, so the subject of organ donation is an even more sensitive matter. Filipinos are a compassionate bunch and would always welcome doing a good deed but because of cultural apprehensions, misinformation or lack of information, they are driven to believe the misconceptions and thus stay off the topic as much as possible.
I want you to know that donating an organ is a major decision. As an altruistic person, it is an important that I should fully understand how donating an organ will affect me and my family. But I haven’t a second thought about this decision. I made an arrangement with God that if I pass all the medical laboratories including the Bioethics Committee panel interview. I heartily believe that He permit me to be your organ donor.
I want you to know that I will not forget the moment when it happens because many souls will sing praises to God. At that moment, we’re giving hope and inspiration to others. At the same time, we are giving a deeper meaning of the Gospel saying, “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.” I was reminded of His word, “Whatever you do to the least of your brothers, which you do unto me.” Furthermore, “It is Jesus Christ who comes to us first, making us His neighbor, to succor us, heal us and save us,” Indeed, in this teaching, Jesus tells us that our relationship with our fellow men is inseparable from our relationship with God. Love of God and love of our neighbors are two aspects of the same calling.
I want you to know that I have voluntarily offered my organ to you who are depending on a machine to exist from week to week and may you experience life again. I’m doing this for the greater glory of God and praying that others may inspire to do the act by actuating the Gospel.
I want you to know that I am also open to whatever possibly happens. At a certain moment a doctor will determine that my brain is ceasing to function and that, for all intents and purposes, my life will stop. I am not afraid of it. I want you to know that death is not the end of life. It is far from it. It is only the beginning of real life, the ultimate reality. Death is simply the door through which we enter the real, true eternal life. Words will be inadequate to describe this eternal bliss to come immediately upon death. This is why we need not to fear death at all. If, by chance, you wish to remember me, do it with a kind deed or word to someone who needs you. If you do all I have asked, I will live forever because you’re my kidney brother.
[10/16/13] Sometime struggle is what we need to shape our lives to a better figure. Like the metaphorical story of a cocoon, the moth should push-through his body with a small hole, just to squeeze his body and purge the liquid on it, so that when it passed through the hole, the new butterfly able to spread out his wings and fly.
[10/08/13] God, I know a lot of people who would like to have less pressure in their job. They don't want to be responsible for so many things. They long to be a specialist again. They no longer want to be responsible for what other people do, or for the "bottom line." They long for more time with their family. But changing jobs is not an option for many of them because they bear heavy financial burdens. Others are afraid of failing if they try to start over. God, I pray that they can redefine success in accordance with Your will. And I pray that they will trust in You to be the Boss. In Jesus' name. Amen.

[09/23/13] God, widen the horizon of my understanding to understand the person that its hard handle. Lord, I am helpless to handle it. I need your touch to comfort my soul. Give me the virtue to accept and learn to forget. I know that you have the reasons that it happened.
[09/23/13] A joyful and grateful person is happy person. Happiness is a gift and initiative act by God. Freedom is also a gift from God and choosing to be happy is an action both God and man. Therefore, I am a happy person because God dwells in me.
