Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you, Blessed are you among women, and blessed...
For those who have not visited and venerated yet the relic heart of St. Padre Pio, here is the schedule in IC3/IEC Pavilion. St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, pray for us.
http://w2.vatican.va/content/francesco/en/letters/2018/documents/papa-francesco_20180820_lettera-popolo-didio.html

..."It is essential that we, as a Church, be able to acknowledge and condemn, with sorrow and shame, the atrocities perpetrated by consecrated persons, clerics, and all those entrusted with the mission of watching over and caring for those most vulnerable. Let us beg forgiveness for our own sins and the sins of others. An awareness of sin helps us to acknowledge the errors, the crimes and the wounds caused in the past and allows us, in the present, to be more open and committed along a journey of renewed conversion.

Likewise, penance and prayer will help us to open our eyes and our hearts to other people’s sufferings and to overcome the thirst for power and possessions that are so often the root of those evils. May fasting and prayer open our ears to the hushed pain felt by children, young people and the disabled. A fasting that can make us hunger and thirst for justice and impel us to walk in the truth, supporting all the judicial measures that may be necessary. A fasting that shakes us up and leads us to be committed in truth and charity with all men and women of good will, and with society in general, to combatting all forms of the abuse of power, s*xual abuse and the abuse of conscience.

In this way, we can show clearly our calling to be “a sign and instrument of communion with God and of the unity of the entire human race” (Lumen Gentium, 1).

“If one member suffers, all suffer together with it”, said Saint Paul. By an attitude of prayer and penance, we will become attuned as individuals and as a community to this exhortation, so that we may grow in the gift of compassion, in justice, prevention and reparation. Mary chose to stand at the foot of her Son’s cross. She did so unhesitatingly, standing firmly by Jesus’ side. In this way, she reveals the way she lived her entire life. When we experience the desolation caused by these ecclesial wounds, we will do well, with Mary, “to insist more upon prayer”, seeking to grow all the more in love and fidelity to the Church (SAINT IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA, Spiritual Exercises, 319). She, the first of the disciples, teaches all of us as disciples how we are to halt before the sufferings of the innocent, without excuses or cowardice. To look to Mary is to discover the model of a true follower of Christ."

May the Holy Spirit grant us the grace of conversion and the inter

"Since the problem of clergy s*x scandals is inherently spiritual, the solution to it is spiritual. The clergy s*x scandals are, essentially, the failure of the clergy to live consistently with their vocations.

Thus, to respond to these scandals, the laity should examine themselves if they are living unity of life, that is, whether their words, actions, and choices are consistent with their own vocations as lay Christians. Like, choices of entertainment, for example.

The point is not that the laity’s own failures take erring clergymen off the hook. Rather, like good soldiers of Christ, the laity should, as good battle strategy, reinforce the Church’s ranks where there are breaches.

Or rather, the laity – like all Christians – must, as Christ said, be the salt of the earth and preserve the world and the Church from corruption. To do this, they must themselves stay salty and never become insipid.

Furthermore, any reaction of the laity to the clergy s*x scandals, to be meaningful and effective, must be realistic. It must take into account the limitations of the laity, as well as the laity’s specific vocation."

November 24 is Red Wednesday.

While the National Section of our foundation in the Philippines understands that the country and its citizens are in a crucial time of political decisions and affiliations, we would like to underline that the upcoming Catholic celebration, Red Wednesday, is an interreligious cause dedicated for the stand for religious freedom against our persecuted brothers and sisters. At this very moment, somewhere around the world, people are dying, or are forced outside their homes – solely for proclaiming the faith.

As in the past years, the color red means passion, love, martyrdom, and sacrifice. To the participants of the initiative, we humbly plead for a sensible observance of the day of remembrance. We hope and pray that this day of dedication will not be misrepresented and used for any other cause or motive. Because above all, the color red is the color of blood. Blood shed so that we may enjoy 500 years of blessings. Blood shed for our 500 years of graces. This blood is love – the love of St. Lorenzo Ruiz, the love of St. Pedro Calungsod, and the love of all our martyrs.

On November 24, may we all rise to be Red Without Fear. For being Red Without Fear means professing Christ without fear. It is loving without fear.

Hello, I’d like to share this notification from the Chancery of the Cebu Archdiocese which is addressed not only to the clergy but also to all…

BRETHREN!
Good Morning !

Tomorrow, November 9, is an important day in the canonization process of Archbishop Teofilo Camomot.

Our dear Archbishop, Jose S. Palma, is requesting to disseminate among the clergy his request:

“To ask all priests, religious and lay faithful to pray for the Meeting of Theologians regarding our Positio on Archbishop Teofilo Camomot, proving his heroic virtues.”

We include this particular intention and pray for a positive request on this concern in our celebration of the Holy Masses tomorrow.

Also, we remind everyone, especially our lay faithful, NOT TO INVOKE YET the intentions of Archbishop Teofilo Camomot, like:
"Teofilo Camomot, pray for us," as if, he is already canonized as a saint.

Thank you 🙏🙏🙏

Blessed All Saints' Day!

The Church is larger and more alive than we think. Among her members are the living and the deceased (whether they are still undergoing a process of purification or are already in the glory of God), individuals known and unknown, great saints and inconspicuous persons. We can help one another even beyond the grave. We can call on our patrons and favorite saints, but also our departed relatives and friends whom we believe are already with God. (YOUCAT 146) For those who are united with God even beyond this world are fully alive. Happy All Saints' Day!

HAPPY FEAST DAY! | Guardian Angels
October 2

The Story of the Feast of the Guardian Angels
Perhaps no aspect of Catholic piety is as comforting to parents as the belief that an angel protects their little ones from dangers real and imagined. Yet guardian angels are not only for children. Their role is to represent individuals before God, to watch over them always, to aid their prayer, and to present their souls to God at death.

The concept of an angel assigned to guide and nurture each human being is a development of Catholic doctrine and piety based on Scripture but not directly drawn from it. Jesus’ words in Matthew 18:10 best support the belief: “See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father.”

Devotion to the angels began to develop with the birth of the monastic tradition. Saint Benedict gave it impetus and Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, the great 12th-century reformer, was such an eloquent spokesman for the guardian angels that angelic devotion assumed its current form in his day.

A feast in honor of the guardian angels was first observed in the 16th century. In 1615, Pope Paul V added it to the Roman calendar.

Reflection
Devotion to the angels is, at base, an expression of faith in God’s enduring love and providential care extended to each person day in and day out.

Life OnLine (LOL): Praying the Rosary

Why do we pray the Rosary?

11/09/2021

A very timely reflection from Malolos Bishop, Dennis Villarojo. Truly, our faith and devotion to the Eucharist must shape our morals. Bishop Dennis pointed out that what is political should be moral.

"If the Eucharist is the mode of being that passes from Jesus into us, let us not be enablers of those who have no respect for human life; of those who have no respect at all for anyone, alive or dead; those who malign even the dead and kill the living."

- Most Rev. Dennis Villarojo on his talk on the theme of the 52nd IEC during the Philippines' Virtual Conference on the Eucharist (11 September 2021)

PRAYER FOR THE ANNIVERSARY OF AUGUSTINIAN PRESENCE IN THE PHILIPPINES*
Almighty Father, as we remember and celebrate the 456th anniversary of the arrival in the Philippines of our Augustinian forebears, we look back with gratitude to the past centuries that You filled with Your guidance and providence. We also look forward to the future with hearts brimming with hope. We implore You to send Your Spirit to form us into living witnesses of Your gospel in the present.

You sent us those valiant Augustinian missionaries to instruct us in the Holy Name of Your Son, our Lord Jesus through the image of Señor Santo Niño. Wholeheartedly, we accepted and embraced their teachings; to them we owe our Christian faith. May You send us in turn today, O Lord, to continue spreading the Good News of your salvation to all men and women.

May our celebration of this milestone in the history of our Order strengthen and deepen our faith in Christ, the Holy Child, the Savior of the world. Make your light within us shine to all nations, so that at all times, in all places, we may sing Your praises and glorify Your Holy Name. At the end of our earthly journey, may we be like our father, Saint Augustine, who found peace and serenity of heart in Your loving embrace. Grant all these through Christ our Lord. Amen.

*Edited version of the Prayer for the 450th Anniversary of Augustinian Presence in the Philippines (2015).
