If anyone wants to get into the storage underneath St Andrews Give me a call on 0276022626 ( Nick) or 0275439569 ( Verdun ), we have changed the combination on the padlock as it was once again left wide open Saturday night 😞there is a lot of expensive gear in there and it's not really good enough.
A beautiful moment as 3 of Roberts pilots honoured him with a flyover. They then circled and returned single file dipping their wings in salute to a friend, mentor and boss.
an impressive photo of an Air New Zealand plane taking off over St Margarets. They do look wonderful but can be very disruptive to worship and conversation. Looking forward to being further away on the 5 Mile in due course.
here's something we can all get behind
Hi there,

Firstly, apologies for the 'spam'! I would like to tell you about Virtuoso Strings and our Free, Fun, Family concerts in Wanaka and Arrowtown this month:
– Wanaka: 7:30pm on Monday the 16th of July at the Lake Wanaka Centre
– Arrowtown: 7:30pm on Tuesday the 17th of July at the Athenaeum Hall

The Virtuoso Strings Orchestra is run on a volunteer basis, and provides free lessons, instruments, uniforms, food, transport, tours, concerts, etc. etc. to students in the low-decile Eastern suburbs of Porirua, who would not otherwise have the chance to learn to play a string instrument.

After operating for only five years, we usually have over 100 kids at our weekly rehearsals, and several students have already achieved their Grade 8 Trinity College exams.

Around 45 performers from the Virtuoso Strings are embarking on an eight-day, six-concert tour of the South Island, starting with a concert in The Piano in Christchurch on Friday the 13th of July at 7pm.

Entry is free, but a Koha is much appreciated! The tour is free to the students from Porirua, and we rely on Grants and Donations to fund it.

Music in the concert ranges from Vivaldi's Spring and Elgar's Cello Concerto to Tangos, Beatles tunes, and even a Shostakovich string quartet! Families welcome! The longest piece is around eight minutes, and there is an MC to keep things interesting and fun!

Also, we would really appreciate it if you could forward this poster (and the associated blurb, above) to as many people as you can. It is guaranteed to be an entertaining concert, and the kids are much better musicians than you might expect!

Many thanks,
Cheers,
Craig

Vital planning meeting for Pasta Cafe at St Margaret's.

Come along tonight and help make Pasta Cafe great.

Hasta Memorial School- we give thanks and celebrate.

Building a school is far more than bricks and mortar. Behind the scenes there are many bureaucratic hurdles to overcome. The last of these is official recognition of the school and the authority to now operate as a school.

This authority was received yesterday. Therefore there is now no impediment to the school opening as soon as construction is complete.

We give thanks to God who has enabled this. And I give thanks to the many members of the Church who have contributed to this vital project so far.

Attached is a message from Anjali as she also wants to say thank you.

Ngāti Torehina's encounter with God.

How did the Gospel come to this land? Here is a testimony from tangata whenua - the people of this land - that gives history that predates Samuel Marsden.

What do you think about this?

The Hasta Memorial School continues to develop, brick by brick. Recently the local authority gave permission for a third floor, and now you can see it taking shape. We will soon have 10 classrooms complete, the top floor is going to be just 2 classrooms for now.

Hey Church family the party is in full swing. See the photos.

Clean up however still has to happen. 8pm at St Margaret’s - your help will be appreciated. Thank you

25/06/2021

Tomorrow we do this. So looking forward to it. Remember to be involved. More help is still needed. Contact Clay or simply arrive early and ask where you are needed.

Many hands will be required at 8pm for pack down. So please Church let's do this together.

Spread the word, St Margaret’s looks amazing and the food on offer will delight, all at very low prices. The silent auction also looks incredible, so be here, bring lots of cash to spend, and a serving attitude.

Huge thank you to the many who have worked tirelessly to put this together.

Hasta School Scholarship Programme – now receiving donations

It has been shown that the best way to fight against human trafficking is prevention.

Prevention starts with education. This is the basic motivation behind the Hasta memorial School; we do not want more girls and young woman to be trapped in the terrible nightmare of human trafficking.

You can make a difference in a child’s life and reduce the chances of their being trafficked. The cost of a scholarship is $45 per month or $540 per year. This pays the school fees and supplies for one child.

The more people who contribute to the scholarship program, the more children and adolescents will have the opportunity to study, reducing their likelihood of being trafficked. Even if you cannot afford $45, any amount will make a difference, especially if that is on a regular basis. All money received from scholarships will be pooled to ensure as many as possible have access to education.

Payments can be made at any time to:

Chilling weather fails to dampen procession

It was great to have many of the Church taking part in this annual Walk of the Cross yesterday. As we left St Joseph's the weather was atrocious however thankfully it eased after we sheltered at St Andrew's for longer than planned. It was good to declare love for Jesus in the company of brothers and sisters in Christ.

Chilling weather fails to dampen procession More than 50 members of four Queenstown churches shrugged off rain and wind to take part in a multi-denominational Easter Walk of the Cross...
