Level 2 - We are working out what this means for return to play, given the recent changes made to this level.

Making a masterpiece takes a lot of thought, inventiveness and organisation. Really good things take time. Tomorrow a detailed letter will be emailed with our plans for starting back to school in Level 2 delta. I know it’s a bit tricky with school being closed til Thursday and the rest of Tauranga Moana moving to Level 2 on Wednesday. That’s one of the items the letter will cover. In the meantime Bubble School will continue tomorrow so teachers and our teacher assistants will be working on line keeping the routines going on. Take care, God Bless, St Thomas More.

You deserve a cold one outside soaking up the sunshine. Have a great weekend in paradise- sun, sea and takeaways. Thank you teachers for your consistent efforts and that famous sense of humour. Kina 3 started an experiment at their Google meet to see if they could make an egg bounce. Each day in their Google Meet they have been checking on the progress of the egg to see what is occurring. Some of the Kina 3 students have decided to try this themselves in their bubbles. Take a look at these experiments.

Bubble school started today. We have 14 children booked in to attend and two bubbles set up. Year 1-2 are with Mrs Foster in the P**i space and Year 3-6 are in the staff room, using breakout rooms to conference on line with their teachers. Year 3-6 are being supervised by Miss Joblin and Liam, our teaching assistant.
It’s not the same without the whole school here but we are trying our best so Mums and Dads can deliver the essential services that we all need in Alert 3.
Fingers crossed for Alert 2 at the end of next week??

Paula Farrell sent out the sports update and summer sports registration forms today as well. Sorry to bombard you with info- we’re getting ready for tomorrow when Alert 4 goes to Alert 3. God bless.

Kia ora koutou, good morning everyone. I hope you had an opportunity to enjoy some of the weekend sunshine- walking and biking. Bishop Steve live streams Daily mass at 9.00 each day and you are invited to tune in if you can.
Our staff have just ended our Monday morning staff meeting and the Year 5+6 team has started their regular classroom meet up.
Talking about Wednesday- and what that might look like at school.
We have surveyed everyone to find out who is going back to work and therefore who needs supervision provided at school because there aren’t any friends or relatives around to mind the kids……Thank you to families who are able to supervise their children around work commitments- we realise it is very stressful juggling work and kids on line….on our staff there are three teachers in the same situation. The guidelines from the Ministry of Health / Education are that we should limit the sizes of our bubbles, that everyone needs to maintain 2 metre distance between bubbles, and that singing can only happen outside( they specifically said).
If Alert 3 starts on Wednesday as planned, we will set the school staff room up with six tables, 2 metres apart. Each family bubble will be required to stay together at their table and only play in their designated areas. The adventure playground will be fenced off and only the courts will be available to play on. We will set up a box of sports equipment for each bubble- each chair, table and set of equipment will need to be wiped down at the end of each day. There will be one teacher available for Bubble school each day while other teachers will continue online school from home keeping their own bubbles safe.
We will be in contact directly with families who have replied to our survey about start and finish times and what to bring to school.
I’ll sign off for now- there will be emails and information sent to you from teachers over the next week to give you more details. Thank you and God Bless, Kath Joblin.

Ata marie, good morning whanau.
This afternoon the PM will let us know what is planned for us all in the coming week.
If we do move to Alert 3, with Delta, it will be even more important to stay in our bubbles for as long as we can.
We have had @home learning happening this week and the comments on our survey yesterday indicate that teachers are structuring the activities and tasks to support learning- and most families are feeling comfortable, not pressured, which is what we are aiming to do.
Please take a moment to reflect and pray that we will reach the best normal we can in as short a time as possible. Give the worry over to Jesus and embrace the calm- it’s hard to do but will help immensely.
