Hi, I am wondering if you (or the Church) are still the owners of 41 Piano Flat Road Waikaia. I used to holiday there many many years ago and I would like to know if you own it and if you rent it out?
Congratulations to these 26 beautiful kids who received their First Holy Communion on Sunday. Thanks to all those involved for a great celebration!
A big congratulations to the ST PETERS staff and students who took the Sat Night Mass to an other level. It was amazing...great to see the young members of our Parish involved and the music!! They had all the "oldies" singing...swaying....and clapping ....thank you and do it all again soon.

Catholic bishops deplore Auckland terrorist attack

The Catholic Bishops of Aotearoa New Zealand deplore the terrorist attack on innocent people in the supermarket in New Lynn, Auckland, yesterday.

To those who have been injured, we hold you in our prayers and pray for your recovery. We are deeply saddened, and our hearts go out to you, your whānau, and the wider affected communities.

We are conscious that perpetrators of such terror attacks always seek to divide communities as much as to inflict direct violence on individuals. We know that the actions of this one extremist are his crimes alone.

The Catholic community of Aotearoa New Zealand stands with people of all faiths and alongside people who profess no faith, as a people united against violence in every form.

[11/25/20]   Message from Fr. Damian Hello everyone,
As of this weekend the schedule of mass times in the Gore parish is changed. The changes have been necessitated by the fact that Fr Ciprian is no longer available to help in Gore (he has been sent to Oamaru to relieve Fr Wayne Healey who has to undergo surgery and will be 'out of action' for a while). This means that there will be only one priest available to say masses in the several churches in our parish. The new weekend timetable is now:
Saturday vigil mass in Gore: 7.00 p.m.
Sunday mass in Gore: 9.00 a.m.
Sunday mass in Balfour: 11.00 a.m.
On the first and third weekends of December there will also be a vigil mass in Tapanui at 5.00 p.m.
No doubt some will find the changes difficult or disappointing, but I hope you will understand why they are necessary.
With my best wishes,
Fr Damian.

[08/27/20]   Sacramental Programme 2020: Unfortunately the date for Confirmation/First Communion has had to be changed because of Covid Restrictions. At present we are aiming to celebrate this occasion at the 10.00 a.m. Mass in Gore on Sunday 13th. September. In the meantime parents please help the children with their workbooks at home. Fr. Damian will have a practise session with the children in the Gore Church of Blessed Sacrament on Wednesday 9th. September at 1.30 p.m. It would be great if the children not at St. Mary's school could be at this practise, however this may not be possible so if that is the case will have to have a quick briefing before the Mass on Sunday 13th. so please come early if you can. We are trying to keep everyone informed of changes in this trying time so hope and pray that those concerned have all the information they need for this to be a special happy and memorable day for the children.

[08/14/20]   Sacramental Programme
Our lesson this week will be completed at home by you (the family) due to the Level 2 restrictions and the Church not being able to take more than 100 people at a time.
Can you please finish the Baptism pages 11, 12 & 13.
Read through the Confirmation pages 14, 15 & 16 and learn about how Confirmation confirms baptism and is one of the 3 steps on our journey into the Christian community. At Confirmation, we are filled and strengthened with the Holy Spirit.
This weekend take time to choose the name of the Saint who you want to be like.
Fill out page 24 which includes naming 3 inspiring things about the Saint and why you chose the Saint's name.
Any questions please feel free to contact me on [email protected]
Thank you 😊

In past few days, we have journeyed with Our Lord Jesus Christ to the Calvary and experienced his pain and suffering. Today, let us rejoice and be glad. Let us go to the Empty Tomb to see and have Faith and Hope in the Risen Lord, especially in this difficult and uncertain time. For Him, death is not the end, but it is Hope, Love and Joy. Happy Easter to you all. Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
