As always a pleasure to host another Christ College New Zealand unit.

Great to have a week of teaching from David Cook on preaching!
We've been sent home into lockdown on day 2 of an intensive again but still grateful for the chance to learn via technology.

Congratulations Jason. 'Doctor' Pickard will be teaching on the millennium at GTC later this semester.

Congratulations to Jason Pickard who has successfully completed his PhD. His thesis is titled, ‘A shaky foundation? John Owen and Thomas F. Torrance on Christ's mediation’.

Semester Two at GTC starts this week.
We are introducing a brand new course: Christianity in Aotearoa on Wednesdays @ 7 pm

HT451: Christianity has been in New Zealand for over 200-years now, but most of us are woefully ignorant of our rich and varied history. The course will help you to discover the beginnings of the gospel in Aotearoa, the challenges faced by Maori and Pakeha believers, and the major Christian movements in our country today. This will make us better able to understand our cultural context to be more effective in ministry. (Lecturer: Alex Robinson)

I'm grateful for this GPC pastor in Southland.

Equip Conference 2021

Join us live for the first session of Multiply Advance Conference | Raised Forever 2020.

Join with church leaders from across Aotearoa who are passionate about seeing Christ-centred, missional and biblically rich churches grow. Rory Shiner has spoken and written over a number of years on the topic of the resurrection. We have asked Rory to help us apply the resurrection to the issues and opportunities facing our ministries. We will see that the resurrection stands at the centre of our ministry. We will be refocused on going forward in Christ’s resurrection power, not in our own strength. We will learn from one another how biblically driven practice sees gospel growth.

Advance Conference | Raised Forever is a unique opportunity to refocus our mission. Come and be challenged to engage Aotearoa with the gospel in 2020 and beyond.

Dr. Rory Shiner serves as the senior pastor of Providence City Church, Perth. He has a PhD in church history and has authored two books: One Forever and Raised Forever. He spends a lot of time thinking about the nature of secular culture, and how best to reach our context with the message of Jesus.

You can register to attend Saturday's sessions online at 21/08/2020

Inerrancy and Evangelicals: The Challenge for a New Generation For future generations to carry the torch of inerrancy, evangelicals must understand the history.

GTC feels privileged to be hosting the class. Excited to see a great bunch of students. Very interesting conversations happening in the breaks!

This week, Dr Ian Smith from Christ College, Sydney is teaching New Zealand students about the 'Early New Testament Church', via an online Zoom class.

The purpose of this unit is to enable students to gain an understanding of the New Testament outside the Gospels, with a focus on the theology and mission of the early Church, as they are reflected in the Acts of the Apostles, the New Testament Letters, and the book of Revelation.

Together with the other foundational New Testament & Old Testament units, the 'Early New Testament Church' forms the foundation upon which all further study of the Scriptures builds. Together, these units provide an introduction to biblical theology via a survey of the books of the Bible understood as God’s Word, centred on the gospel of Christ.
