Lovely to see every one this morning over coffee
Same time next week on a sofa near you .....
I'm a member of Stoke St Michael's and Mothering Sunday is a difficult time for me and my family, 3 years ago my nephew, Isaac, died at 7 days old.
@TheLilyMaeFoundation have been supporting us from day 1, initially providing a memory box so we could take hand and foot prints and access to a professional photographer with the skills to edit the photos to remove the damage done to his delicate skin from the wires and tubes he wore during those 7 days.

Since then they have provided support groups, counselling and memorial services that have blessed us and helped us meet others walking a similar path.
They continue to raise awareness around still birth and neonatal death – some of you may have seen the founders on the BBC's Victoria Derbyshire programme this week sharing their tale of loss and the campaign for coroners to be allowed to investigate still births. There are 15 babies per day in the UK who will be still born or die shortly after birth.

This is why, next Sunday, the 7th April I will be participating in the 22nd A Coventry Way Challenge, walking 40miles in a circular route around Coventry. Starting at 530am, I’m hoping to have completed by 630pm – that’s 13 hours during in which approximately 8 devastated families will have had a permanent hole torn in their lives and hearts.

The evening is a theatre performance in University Square, featuring sound, light and choreography. The dusk brings a moment of reflection for Little Amal; she remembers how far she’s come from her home and how much she’s learned. Amal remembers her hometown and is reminded that she will always have a place in Coventry.

[Trigger Warnings: Please note, the performance contains flashing lights, haze, pyrotechnics, bombing effects and loud noises.]

We're back & we can't wait to see you - so let the party begin with our Best Ever Show!

May we once again invite you to a truly spectacular show here on our 'home' stage as a highlight in the preparations for your Christmas Festivities.
Rehearsals are well underway to produce a kaleidoscope of musical variety in a programme carefully designed to include so many styles. Our musical 'journey' will take you from the authentic 'big-band' sounds of Glenn Miller, via Blockbuster Movie Themes, Swedish 'super-group' Abba, Elvis Presley, through to the orchestral genre of Andre Rieu - and of course always including our genuine tribute to the magnificent arrangements of James Last. Our in-house arranger, Ian, has once again produced a fine selection of lively pieces which, with the accompaniment of stunning visual effects - a veritable 'son et lumiere' - will raise your spirits, culminating in a fantastic party atmosphere as we look both 'forward' and 'upward' toward 2022 and beyond!

Thank you!

Because of generous donors, we’ve taken 36 brand new scooters to refugee children living in hotels in Coventry.

Most of these have been donated via our Amazon Wishlist.

It’s so lovely to see all the children playing on them, when they have so little these have brought so much joy this summer, so thank you all!

Welcome new friends and hello old friends!

Thanks for all your support of Carriers of Hope and Clothing Coventry. We have been overwhelmed by the interest and generosity so many people have shown!

This picture is our Warehouse at the moment - as you can see it is full!

We're working really hard at getting some additional storage space but in the meantime we're asking people to hold on to donations if they can at all.

Most needed at the moment are trainers in sizes 5/6/7/8; suitcases/holdalls/large backpacks; sanitary products; nappies and wipes; and phones/laptops/tablets. Please bring these items to our Warehouse at Unit 4b, Lythalls Lane Industrial Estate on Thursdays and Fridays between 10 and 1.

Our Amazon wishlist has all our most needed items on if you can’t donate and would like to buy:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/2442HXB7REOX1?ref_=wl_share

Clothing Coventry also need some more clothing rails, clothes hangers and shoe racks, which can be purchased via our Amazon wishlist.

We'll post an update here as soon as we're fully open for donations.

We desperately need to organise our Warehouse! If you want to help us sort and distribute what we've received please join our Carriers Of Hope Volunteers page to see when and where you can do that.

Thank you for your support, which enables us to help refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants in Coventry - whether they have just arrived here or whether they are settling here longer term. This truly is a City of Sanctuary!

Our Story

Holy Cross Church is a small and friendly modern church in the Parish of Caludon. We are an inclusive church which does not discriminate, on any level, on grounds of economic power, gender, mental health, physical ability, race or sexuality. We welcome and serve all people in the name of Jesus Christ.

Normally we would be holding church services on Sundays and Mondays as well as a number of social events and celebrations. However, due to COVID-19 we are now meeting online using the Zoom software. The Government has now allowed churches to open for private prayer but our Parish Church Council has decided that, sadly for us, this is not safe or feasible at the moment.

Everyone is very welcome to join us online. Please contact Revd Liz Harris on 07526 249094 or [email protected] for further details about Zoom or for information about which churches are open for private prayer.

Please know that we continue to pray for all in our community in these strange and difficult times. God bless, and may you and all those whom you love stay safe and well.

General information

Everyone is very welcome at any of our services or social events. We are an inclusive church which does not discriminate, on any level, on grounds of economic power, gender, mental health, physical ability, race or sexuality. We welcome and serve all people in the name of Jesus Christ. Each Sunday morning we hold a service at 9.20 am that includes hymns, prayers and communion. Children are very welcome to join us and toys and play rugs are on hand. On the 3rd Sunday of the month at 9.20 am we have Sunday Worship with Communion. Most Mondays at 7 pm there is a short (half-hour) silent meditative service where we reflect upon God's word or other Bible-based writings. On the first Monday of the month we use an Anglican form of the Rosary to focus our hearts and minds on God. At Christmas and Easter we have extra services that reflect the season and we also have various Bible study courses each year. On Wednesday mornings in term-time from 10-11.30am we have a parent and toddler group called "Chattertots". This is a friendly group for parents/carers and preschool children and babies which meets to play, laugh, make friends and have fun. We also have various social events throughout the year that anyone is welcome to join. These include our monthly coffee mornings, quizzes, talks and musical evenings.
