7.30 tonight (Wednesday 1st May) at The Salvation Army hall on Moreton Road in Buckingham.

Jesus is Risen! Happy Easter. We made a cross by painting on the situations of death and despair, and praying for resurrection new life power to come in our lives and world. And then we had an egg hunt and BBQ. #salvationarmybuckingham #jesusisrisen #bbq #easteregghunt

A Roman centurion shared his experience at the crucifixion, as we commemorated Good Friday with Buckingham churches. #salvationarmybuckingham

Jesus is risen! Death is not the end of the story. Life is not meaningless struggle. There is purpose and hope. Jesus came back to life, so everything he taught and did matters like nothing ever has. Happy Easter!

Thanks to you we were able to give toys to over 95 children in Buckingham and surrounding area this Christmas.

From our church distribution centres to the homes of families in need: thank you for helping us bring joy to families in need across the UK this Christmas. Due to your generous donations of toys and presents there are children who will have presents to unwrap on Christmas Day rather than nothing at all.

We are overwhelmed and so grateful by the outpouring of generosity from Buckingham community for our Christmas toy appeal. Can't wait to bless the families these beautiful gifts will be going to tomorrow! Thank you, thank you, thank you! @ Buckingham

A Prayer for the UK

β€œIn this time of turmoil...

We pray for the Prime Minister and Party Leaders as they negotiate the political future of our nation:
Father, give them your wisdom and vision.

We pray for all in Parliament as they represent their communities:
Jesus, give them your humility and strength.

We pray for the media as they interpret events for the nation:
Holy Spirit, give them your truth and compassion.

We pray for ourselves, your Church, as we show your love to our neighbours:
Would we speak hope, embody courage and model unity in diversity.

Almighty God, we place our trust in you:
For yours is the kingdom the power and the glory, now and forever, Amen.”

Happy 70th birthday to the NHS! We're so grateful for all that we benefit from the passionate and dedicated service of so many gifted and committed people.

A prayer for the 70th anniversary of the NHS written by Bishop of London Sarah Mullally, former Chief Nursing Officer for England:

Lord of life,
send your Spirit upon those who work in the NHS
and upon those for whom they care.
May those who are sick be enabled
to lift their hearts in thanksgiving,
and may those who care for them be given strength
to pour out the unfailing oil of your healing love.
May your saving power be brought to the world
through the great physician and nurse of our souls, Christ your Son,
in whom alone is eternal life, true peace,
and the fullness of health.

What a beautiful bunch of people! It's really exciting to meet together every other Sunday to worship, etc me share life.
In the summer we'll be upping it to meeting every Sunday as Xander and Vanessa and the kids move to town and are around full time! Come and join us on Sundays from 10:30 (3rd and 17th June, 1st, 15th and 29th July).
3rd June is Tabea's last Sunday with us before she goes back to Switzerland, so you'll want to be there! #lovebuckingham #friendslikefamily

This Sunday we'll be farewelling the lovely Tabea Ratti with a bring-and-share lunch after the Meeting.
So come along at 10.30am for worship and stay for lunch afterwards.
It also happens to be 'Candidates Sunday', where we pray for those God might be calling to full time ministry as Salvation Army Officers. We'll be taking up a collection to support those in training for this ministry.

Please pray for these leaders from across The Salvation Army world as they gather together to choose our new General.

General AndrΓ© Cox has asked us to stand together in prayer as we anticipate the start of the High Council:

β€˜As the High Council convenes in May, The Salvation Army’s leaders from around the world will be tasked with electing the next General, the 21st leader of our global Army. Friends, would you join me in praying – very simply – that God’s will be done? Many column inches, tweets, Facebook posts and blogs will be written – of that I have no doubt – but it boils down to this: Listening to God’s still, small voice. And then acting decisively on it.

β€˜So pray for the members of the High Council. Pray, too, for the man or woman who will take on the leadership of The Salvation Army as General in August. But as you pray, ensure that – as you pause today – you also listen for God’s still, small voice. Is the Holy Spirit gently nudging you to do something? Perhaps to speak to or offer a helping hand to a friend, colleague or neighbour? Is God calling you to take a more radical step in your discipleship journey?’

The High Council members are pictured here by region: Africa, Americas & Caribbean, Europe, IHQ, South Asia and South Pacific & East Asia.

A High Council comprises all active Salvation Army commissioners, territorial commanders and territorial presidents of women’s ministries.

Best lunch with the best people

Road trip today to visit some wonderful, inspiring people in a place where God is up to super exciting things. And a bonus visit to the birth place of one of The Salvation Army's founders, William Booth.

We're very sad that on Thursday we'll be saying goodbye to Veronica, who is moving back to Italy! We've loved sharing life with you over the past 8 months @vero_nikla We're so grateful for all you've added to our life together, and were praying for your next steps to be life giving, fulfilling and inspiring!

Excited to have had this excellent bunch of young people showing God's love in Buckingham with us yesterday! Thanks for all your help!

A great day with these legends on our final Transformers weekend! They've been prayer walking, praying the Bible and giving out Easter eggs and praying with members of the public in Buckingham. We recharged our batteries in Costa before experiencing evensong at Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford (including shout out from the clergy) and celebrated with a meal at Pizza Hut. #Transformers #spiritualgiants

[03/11/18]   Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mothers and amazing mother figures in our lives! We are who we are because of who loves us.
A prayer for those women today, from the Northumbria Community:

May you always be a strong arm to the weak;

And may you always be a comfort to the crying;

A smile to the lonely, a blessing to the grieving;

And may you always be a haven for the anxious.

May your life be full of Jesus and His love;

May you be God-driven by the Father and the Spirit;

And may you be His hands and smile,

And be His arms of comfort.

And may you always be His blessing to the world.

A morning of celebration today as we welcomed 2 new adherent members and look forward to Xander and Vanessa Coleman moving to Buckingham in the summer! Roast dinner and chocolate cake went down a treat too.
