Operating as usual

[11/24/20]   Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far. We are continuing with our collection of non-perishable goods for the Buckingham Food Bank . Many of you may not be aware that the food collections in the Buckingham supermarkets are not distributed to local families. We would therefore like to help them during these difficult times. There are boxes in the porch at the church for donations. They were so grateful for the enormous donation that we gave them following our Harvest collection, that we have decided to carry on and be a collection point for the village. Please help us to help them. Thank you.

A message from our new Vicar

The Reverend Paula Smith introduces herself to the West Buckingham Benefice, of which we at Tingewick are one of her parishes.

[11/07/20]   Now that we are sadly entering another period of lockdown we wanted to update you on the plans for the coming 28 days.

The Remembrance service on Sunday 8th at the war memorial in Tingewick cemetery will go ahead as planned, starting at 10.45am. Everyone is welcome to attend as strict social distancing measures will be in place. Please wear a mask and also bring your own hand sanitiser. There will be a service sheet that can be picked up on the way in and then placed in a box when leaving.

All other services that are scheduled during the lockdown will not be taking place, including the Thursday Morning Prayer services.

[10/31/20]   'Monday 2 November is All Souls Day when the Church traditionally remembers loved ones who have died in recent times and their names are often read aloud. Revd Paula, our new vicar has said "it will be an honour for me to light a candle and read aloud any names given to me during my morning prayer on Monday." Please email [email protected] or call her on 01280 701631'

We would love to welcome you to our service on Sunday at 10.30am for our Benefice Holy Communion. The usual Covid measures will be in place. We look forward to seeing you.
Paula, our new vicar, will be in the church every Thursday morning until the end of November to meet members of the church and the local community. Morning Prayer will take place between 9.30am and 10am on these mornings. Please pop along and say hello.

[10/27/20]   Following our hugely successful produce collection in lieu of our normal Harvest sale, we have today delivered the goods to the Buckingham Food Bank. They were absolutely delighted and have asked me to pass on their thanks to the village.
As our collection was such a success, we have decided to continue with this and be a drop off point for the village to donate to the Food Bank going forward. From Monday 2nd November we will leave the boxes in the porch for any donations that villagers would like to make to this worthwhile, local charity. Some of you may not know that the food collections in Tesco and Waitrose go to a national charity rather than our local Food Bank, so we would like to help local people at this difficult time. Please help us to help them. Thank you.

WOW!! What a fantastic village effort! Thank you so much to everyone who so kindly donated produce to our collection for Buckingham Food Bank. As you can see from the photos, we have a wonderful array of items to pass on to this local charity which is so necessary, particularly in these uncertain times. We were also given some lovely fresh produce to decorate with, and the church looked beautiful today.
It was lovely to see some new faces in church today for Paula's first service, and we look forward to welcoming you all again in the coming weeks. Thank you again.

We would love to welcome you to our service this morning which will have a Harvest theme. It will be the first service to be led by our new vicar, Paula Smith, so it would be lovely to see as many as we can to welcome her to our parish. The usual Covid measures will be in place. We look forward to seeing you.

[10/23/20]   As many of you will know, the church holds an extremely successful Harvest Supper and Sale of Produce every year, with the proceeds going to local charities. As Covid restrictions prevent us from holding this hugely successful event, we have decided to support a local charity in another way.
During the day, from Monday 19th to Saturday 24th October we will be placing boxes in the porch of the church to receive donations of non-perishable foods, which will then be donated to Buckingham Food Bank. This extremely worthwhile charity is a lifeline to many people, especially in these difficult times. Please help us to help them. Many thanks.
