A busy morning making prayer bracelets! ❤️

Why Mandritsara — Friends of Mandritsara Trust

Your one-hour countdown to our 10.30am service starts now! 😁

Today, we'll be welcoming Ted and Rachel Watts, our mission partners as doctors at Mandritsara Hospital. You can read more about their amazing work, bringing the good news of Jesus to the people of Madagascar, below. Please stay after the service to share some coffee and cake (... and additional cake would be very welcome!) Madagascar is one of the poorest countries of the world with 70-80% of the population considered to be living below the poverty line. Villages in the Mandritsara district are centres of spiritual darkness and superstition. It is into this context that the light of the Gospel has shined through the G

A rather beautiful thought for the day...

Aldridge Filling Station

A reminder that the second meeting of the Filling Station, a fresh way to experience word, worship, and prayer ministry, takes place tonight at 7.30pm in the Community Centre.

The first FS meeting was a tremendous success - please go along if you can to support this amazing new initiative!

The second Filling Station is this Thursday at Aldridge Community Centre 7.30pm. The speaker is Neil Spencer who has led several Life in the Spirit days at St Thomas. He will be ministering with his wife Ellie. Although there will be a 'closure' to the meeting around 9pm, this is to enable prayer ministry to continue and people are welcome to stay to talk and have fellowship until 9.30.

Our Harvest celebration is 10.30am this morning!

Donations as usual to the wonderful The THOMAS Project foodbank. Please bring packet or tinned foods (but preferably not beans or tomatoes!) ... and please NO fresh fruit or vegetables etc. Toiletries are always welcome.

You can also drop donations into the Church Office during the week (Monday-Thursday 9am-12pm) or at next week's service!

We may be 50 years and 2 weeks old, but we'll never stop singing this like it's the first time ... 😍

"You have no rival, You have no equal;
Now and forever, God, You reign"

Morning Service, 10.30am, today.

CMM Choir: When our God came to Earth

We hope you agree it’s been a wonderful long weekend of fitting celebration! From the launch of the innovative Filling Station on Thursday, to Steve Legg wowing us on Friday, the fun-packed Community Day on Saturday, anniversary service and picnic/BBQ/play earlier today, we’ve been royally entertained and, most importantly, praised God for His work through our church over the last 50 years, and long into the future.

We’ve one final delight for you; the Christian Music Minsteries’ From Pharoah to Freedom, a free and exciting musical telling the Jewish Passover story. The show starts at 6.30pm, so there’s still time to get along!

It may be a little unseasonal, but here’s a sneak preview of the wonderful tones to expect from the CMM Choir 😄

The carol 'When our God came to Earth' by Roger Jones. Performed by the CMM Choir at Hagley Retirement Village on Sunday 29th November 2015. Backing track by...

Another slice of St. T’s nostalgia to remind you, whichever form of transport you prefer... ! - please join our 50th Anniversary Communion Service, with the Bishop of Wolverhampton, at 10.30am Sunday, and raise your voices in praise to God for 50 years of evangelism at the heart of our community ❤️

We’ll follow the service with a bring-and-share picnic and BBQ, with toys and games, so please, stay and chat a while!

And to conclude our fabulous birthday weekend, we’ll be entertained by the Christian Music Ministries Choir performing from 6.30pm 😄

Phew! A splendid afternoon and wonderful to see so many friends and families joining in the fun. It was great to be visited by Wendy Morton MP too, and the second photo gives us extra reason to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who helped, and especially our very own Janet - it takes many people to make the event such a success, but we wouldn't even get started without Janet cheerfully masterminding the whole thing! God Bless you! 😁 x

We'll be back later with another trip down memory lane to whet your appetite for our 50th birthday service tomorrow, with the Bishop of Wolverhampton....

Fire engines, face painting, crafts and gifts, a BBQ, bouncy castles and inflatables... What more could you ask on a gorgeous sunny afternoon! The music runs until 3pm and we'll be open till 4pm. Come down and join us!

It's a glorious day for it! 🌞🌞🌞

What a fabulous time at the St Thomas Church Community Fun Day 🌞🍦🍔

We are off at 1.00 pm, but the Fun Day continues on until 4.00 pm ... enjoy 😊

So, last night our big anniversary weekend kicked off in style with celebrity magician and evangelist Steve Legg. Here’s Steve in action with some willing volunteers!

St. Thomas’ has seen many performances over 50 years, and quite a few of them involved silly headwear.... here’s some more blasts from the past 😄

Hope to see lots of you at our Fun Day later this morning!

One hour until our first anniversary event!

Of course, big birthday celebrations are a good excuse for feeling a little misty-eyed and nostalgic... We’ve always been creative in find new ways to spread the Word! 😄

Our very special 50th anniversary weekend is here!

Join us to celebrate our big birthday with a weekend full of fabulous events, marking 50 glorious years of sharing God’s love in the heart of our community! ❤️

Just over an hour to go!

The Filling Station Aldridge is exciting new venture jointly organised between St. Thomas' and our fellow Parish churches. It would be wonderful to see the Community Centre packed out and celebrating the loving presence of Jesus 😁

The Filling Station at Aldridge Communuty Centre launches tomorrow Thursday 7.30! Hellie Brunt our speaker comes from Bristol, was associate pastor in Cheltenham and is now a speaker and leadership training, speaking at New Wine.

And finally...

Parting words from Mark, and typically wise advice on why we must make Jesus the centre of our vision, our passion, and our witness!

What a wonderful send-off our Church family gave Mark, Clare and Charlotte at their Leaving Service! A packed church and so many warm wishes on FB and in person. It was a beautiful occasion, thank you to everyone who was part of it - and God Bless the Castleton family.

We shall miss you all! ❤️

St Thomas' Playgroup - Aldridge

Welcome back to everybody at [email protected]'. We hope you enjoy our garden with it's new Forest School and gardening area. Please feel free to give us a call to come and look and see what fun we have at [email protected]'.

So. With much love and excitement for God having called them to start a new adventure together - but tinged with sadness at saying farewell - it’s time to celebrate Mark, Clare and Charlotte’s time with us, and send them on their journey with love and blessings!

Our Leaving Service is 10.30 tomorrow, and it’s the final one of our ‘Summer Together’ services too.

Please join us ❤️

Today at 10.30am, we're starting our exciting 'Summer Together' series, services for ALL the family which continue our teaching on life lessons from the lives of Old Testament heroes.

Hope to see you there!

So, seeing as it's #TBT (ThrowBackThursday for the uninitiated!), and we have a *very big birthday* coming up later this year, does anyone have memories to share of St. T's over the years?!

Obviously, the more embarrassing the better, starting with the cutting edge hairstyles of circa 1989... 😁

[07/18/19]   As you'll see, we've been very busy creating news about some truly wonderful events coming up in the next couple of months!

However, sadly we also need to note that Messy Church won't be happening this Sunday after all - unfortunately we've had to cancel this one due to unforeseen circumstances. Our morning and evening services at 10.30am and 6.30pm are running as usual though - we'd love to see you there!

[06/04/19]   Hope you have all had a good half term break.
Just a reminder that at our Tom's Toddlers and Footprints sessions tomorrow, a lady called Sharon Walker, who is the 'Sufficiency Officer' within Children's services Department at Walsall Council, will be with us to share some of the funding availability for childcare for our little ones, that is available to each of us. For example, how to apply for tax free childcare, etc. It should be helpful and worthwhile to us all, if you are able to join us.
All the usual activities will be available too of course.
Hope to see you tomorrow. Hannah and the teams. x

At Sunday's morning service, these little candles reminded us to bear witness to Jesus and help bring others into His love! ❤️❤️

We'll be asking for help today with our new, improved Fellowship group!

Fancy getting involved, and finding new ways of bringing us all together in faith and fun? Simply be ready to sign up and help! 😁

The Filling Station

And now for something a little different...!

Next Thursday, 16th May at 7:30 p.m. in the Church Lounge, we'll meet to discuss the potential for setting up a Filling Station in Aldridge. This may not be quite what you think!
Intrigued? For more information, please visit the website and find out more...

All are welcome to attend this meeting, and if visiting the website inspires you to consider the possibility of being part of a team to facilitate this ministry then it would be even better if you could make it along on the evening! Using monthly mid-week evening ‘celebration’ meetings held in non-church venues we have seen Christian communities grow in depth & numbers where a Filling Station has been opened. The Filling Station offers high quality speakers and teachers, contemporary sung worship and powerful, accessible pr...
