Aldridge Parish Church: Worshipping Wholeheartedly | Growing Whole-Life Disciples | Reaching Out Locally, Regionally and Across the World
Brilliant time celebrating Easter Day- Complete with a John 2:18-22 building challenge involving spaghetti, playing cards, cream cheese hard hats, bricks, marshmallows and high-vis jackets. It was wonderful to be together and joyously celebrate the risen Lord Jesus.
Great fun had at our Kids Easter fun afternoon whilst the adults had ‘An hour at the cross’. If you want to know why a teddy bear was decapitated ask one of the children to tell you what they were thinking about 😊 Thanks to everyone who came and joined in with the songs, crafts and games. Happy Easter, hope to see you at our All Age service on Easter Sunday morning 10.00am.
Epiphany 2019 Lantern Parade
We hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and New year. We are looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow for our Sunday Special Lantern parade on Epiphany Sunday. If you made a lantern in the December Sunday Special come and claim it and if you didn't then don't worry we have spares to parade. All families will be meeting at 10am IN CHURCH then coming down to the centre for a brief time together before parading our lanterns back to church and sharing family communion together. You can take your lantern home after the service. See you tomorrow!
APC was a lovely place to be this morning for our two Christmas Day morning services. Wishing everyone a very blessed Christmastime.

[11/08/18] Anyone is welcome to the vision day at St Thomas led by Lori Arnott Lawlor (daughter of John Arnott) on Evangelism for Everyone. This Saturday 10th Nov 10-4pm. Bring lunch. Lori is an engaging speaker and her team led the successful Spirit Cafe at St T's fun day this summer.
Thanks to all who planned, helped and ran our light party during half term. Let your light shine!
A lovely Carers lunch was held yesterday. Thanks to Karen Leng who spoke brilliantly and with such encouragement and to the team who planned, cooked and welcomed those who came. It was a joy and privilege to spend time with each person who came.
We are delighted to welcome Lucy Earl as our New Wine intern for the next year taking on the baton from Katie Ward. Katie has been an invaluable asset and blessing to our congregation for the last twelve months and I am certain Lucy will be equally so. Lucy has grown up through AYF and has a wonderful story of God directing her to take on this role. She has been very consciously aware of his guiding, providence and provision as she has navigated this decision. Please take the chance to look out for her at Sunday services and as she sticks her heads into various groups to get a feel for the breadth of ministry our church undertakes. Pray for her own spiritual growth and for the year ahead especially with all the changes as a new Rector takes the helm.
Alpha is starting again at Aldridge Parish Church. October 3rd 2018
The Alpha Film Series will take you on an epic journey exploring the basics of the Christian faith. Find an Alpha near you: http://alpha.org/try If you would...
AYF had THE BEST time ever at camp this year... come and relive the fun and see what w got up to at camp slides tomorrow night, or, if you didn’t come with us, then come see what you missed! Bring your families and friends- all welcome. Tomorrow night 7th Sept, 8pm in the church centre. 🤗
Meanwhile, at Sunday special, armed bandits assaulted a man and legged it. Priests and important people walked on by refusing to help but... you know the rest of the story!
A special time was shared on Sunday morning as Grace and Josh brought baby Arabella to be baptised 🎉
On Saturday we held another very lovely and very sunny Carers’ lunch for 40+ people. It was a privilege to welcome and bless those who came from our community and extended church family. Thank you to the team who planned and prepared the event and cooked such a delicious lunch 🙂
A poignant time was spent tonight as our community gathered one year on to mark and remember the death of James Brindley and continue to pray for his family, friends and for our town.
The manager had a tough time selecting the APC seven aside football team during our morning service -with some controversial decisions!
Please continue your prayers for those affected by the storms yesterday and for Tynings Lane Church as they begin to assess the situation following the flooding. Groups and activities cancelled as a result this week.
Unfortunately the heavy rain has caused significant flooding at the church and number 4. This means all groups and services are suspended till further notice. Keep watching for updates for alternative venues. Thank you to everyone who helped tonight
We are pleased to announce that the new Rector of Aldridge will be the Rev Steve Doel, currently Vicar of St John's, Walmley in Sutton Coldfield. Steve is married to Jenny and they have four children, aged from 10-21.
The announcement was made this morning at the Parish church, St Thomas', Tynings Lane and in Steve's own parish of Walmley. The parish reps would like to thank all those who prayed, fasted and supported them in anyway particularly on the day of the interview. All those interviewing feel Steve is the right person to lead us into the future and we look forward to Steve and his family joining us.
The wardens express particular thanks to the reps and those who helped with the interview process, preparing the profile & advert and on the interview day. They also wish to thank the congregation for all their prayer on the day and during the vacancy. Thanks be to God for answered prayer. As a church we can now continue to work and pray together during the remaining months, until and beyond when Steve starts. We do not yet have a date for moving in and licensing but please pray for Steve and his family as they prepare to make this move.
Thanks be to God.
Please do come along to the service at 6.30 this evening. Gavin and some of his team from St Peter’s will be sharing about their work and ministry in Walsall and Gavin will also be leading Communion.
The church weekend! 4-6th May 2018. And what a glorious time it truly was!

[04/21/18] We are looking forward to welcoming you to church tomorrow morning when a lot of new faces will be taking part in the service. For most of them it is their first brave step to serve and to lead worship so come along and encourage them as they step out for God. Not only will you will be encouraged by their faith and stories, but you will be an encouragement to them. And most of all we have the wonderful privilege of being together as family worshipping the Lord we love. Can't wait to see you there!
