Blessings and lotsa love to my Goshen family from Pastor David and Linda Stead and family! One day we shall drop in to reconnect (strawberry social, anyone!).
Shared from a Pastor friend of mine, Paulo. I literally laughed loud and hard about this! :)
Here is a wonderful video that shows part 1 of our trip to Israel back in April created by & Joan Wettlaufer - thanks guys!
This is a post from my friend Leanne who is a Pastor in Hamilton and had the privilege of baptizing her son on Easter (last Sunday). She shared some insights that I will never have, but many that I also share. Hope you enjoy!
Join us this Sunday at 9:15 for some fun Christmas games during our Fun & Fellowship time! Bring your most creative Christmas team name, and we will be playing:

2 Truths and a Lie - Christmas Edition

Each person shares about 3 gifts - 2 they actually received, and one that they have made up. The goal of the game is to stump others, and the gifts that you talk about can be amazing, terrible, funny, or unbelievable!

The Christmas Spirit

Each person will earn points for their team by their response to 20 different categories that evaluate just how much Christmas spirit they actually have!

Christmas Song Pictionary

Each person will show off their artistic skills as they try to draw ideas that help their team discover what Christmas Song they are trying to show. The team then has to sing that song!

There will be coffee, tea and perhaps even some Christmas goodies (especially if YOU bring some!)

If you don't want to play the games, then come along anyways and be a spectator - half the fun is watching others play too - and also bring your friends!

See you then!
One more reminder to set your clocks back for Sunday! :)
Hi friends! I am under the weather today - I presently have a low grade fever - and I am sure no one else wants this.

We are cancelling Bible study today - sorry everyone! We will hope to resume next week.
Here's a great little article that was a good reminder to me about how to check our attitudes in light of how we react to some everyday situations. Hopefully it's helpful for you too. :)

Hi friends!

It has been a great summer and this week we are winding down our series: "7 Love Notes" about the letters Jesus wrote to the 7 churches of Revelation. This week is "Change Your Ways."

On Sunday September 2nd, we will be having Stephen Neal return to share a message with us and we also will be having him return for our Anniversary Service on October 14th!

I am excited to reveal to you all our sermon series that came from a request to speak about the 10 Commandments. Here it is!

Looking forward to seeing you all soon. Peace and blessings,
Hey friends - sorry when some weeks are like this. :)
Don't forget friends that Daylight Savings Time happens this Sunday. I am telling you this today so that this doesn't have to happen... ;)

We Are Called - April 18, 2021

In the first week of "8 Things You Need to Know" Romans 1 reveals that we are called to belong, called to be holy and called to call others. Here's where to start.

[04/16/21]   It's normal for me (Pastor Carl) to chat about the message and service when I get home on Sunday. Last Sunday, I "discovered" that some people prefer to receive texts.

Expect a text from me soon! 😃

Liminal Spaces - Apr. 11, 2021

Liminal spaces are like being on the threshold - waiting between places. We have done a lot of that in the past year, but the book of James shows us that this is a place for patience, perseverance, perspective shift and preparing.

04/08/2021

What does it mean to wait in the "in-between"?

How can we make the best use of our time in these "liminal spaces" - when we are on the threshold, neither really in one space or the next?

Join us Sunday at 10:30am as we look into what the Bible says in James 5:7-18.

Where is Jesus? - April 4, 2021

In the early morning, women went to the tomb looking for Jesus, but did not find him. Ever since that day, people have looked for Jesus among the dead, the disciples or the divine. Where is Jesus?

[04/01/21]   Hi friends, we have a prayer request from Larry & Joyce.

Their granddaughter Abby had a 3 hour surgery yesterday morning for a jaw realignment.

The doctor said that everything went well, but Abby yesterday she was sick to her stomach and couldn't get out of bed yet.

It will be 2 weeks before she can have soft food and 2 months before she can have hard food. Please keep her and her parents John and Nicole in your prayers.

Touching the Unclean - March 14, 2021

We need to reach out the ways that Jesus reached out and to the ones Jesus reached out to. Who is Jesus calling you to reach out to? Also, what part of your own life needs the touch of Jesus?

Hope Against Hope - March 7, 2021

We need to reach out to God and to others - just like Jesus did. But there may be a huge leap of faith that you need to make as well in reaching out to him.

Welcome Back!

Hi friends!

I am excited to let you know that we are back to in-person worship this week - but that's not all - here's what's happening!

SUNDAY WORSHIP - March 7, 10:30 AM

As we gather this week, we need to remember to continue to be motivated by love, consideration and respect for one another. We are still capped at 30% capacity so please email us if you will be attending. Here are the regulations we need to continue to observe:

Please clean your hands. We have sanitizer as soon as you come into the church, but feel free to use your own if you prefer.

Please wear a mask inside the building at all times. This is for your safety as well as the safety and peace of mind for everyone else.

Please physically distance wherever possible. Although things are improving we still need to do our part by keeping 6 feet from one another at all times. This means no hugging or handshakes (I know, I miss them too!)

Please sit in the designated areas - you may sit with members of your household or family unit.

Please do not sing along - but you can hum really, REALLY loudly!

Also, if you are feeling unwell, or have been exposed to someone with COVID, we would ask you to please worship from home. If you are within a mile radius from the church, you can listen live on 100.1 FM, you can watch live on Facebook, or you can watch or listen to the service later on YouTube or our podcast.

While these are important regulations, remember that they are also a way to show care and kindness to one another. As it says in 1 Timothy 1:5: "The goal of this command is love..."

As it is the first Sunday of the month, we will be taking part in Communion. While normally we would ask you to bring your own, the single use packets we purchased last year need to be used before they expire (still weeks away), so this week we encourage you to use ours! They will be set out so that you can pick them up on your way in.

If you are worshipping from home, please remember to pick up your red juice and bread so that you can join us as we remember the Lord's Supper together.

This week's message is: "Reaching Out: Hope Against Hope" reflecting on Mark 5:22-36 - the raising of Jairus' 12 year-old daughter and the healing of the woman who had been bleeding for 12 years, as we grapple with what it means to reach out to Jesus in desperate situations.

Remember that if you are joining us from home, you can also find the lyrics to our songs on our website.

After lunch, we would love to have you join us on Zoom at 1 PM for a half hour of fellowship and visiting with one another online!

LOOKING AHEAD

Lenten Service - Wednesday March 10, YouTube
This week, Andre DeDecker from St. Mary's will bring the message on behalf of the Tillsonburg Christian Ministerial Association helping us to prepare for Easter as we continue the theme of "My Hope is Built..." The video will be uploaded at 9 AM to the Tillsonburg Christian Ministerial Association YouTube page and is available to watch any time after that.

Bible Study - Thursday March 11, 10 AM
This week we will resume our study "What Does It Mean to be a Baptist?” and you can join us in person, or through Zoom! Notes and link is on our website, too!

I will be away on vacation the following week (March 18), but when I return (March 25), we will take 3 weeks to wrap up our study on the Gospel of John.

Christian Education & Outreach Meeting - Thursday March 11, 7 PM
This meeting will be held on Zoom as we plan for upcoming events in the life of the church.

Annual Meeting - Sunday April 11, 1 PM (Zoom)
Our annual meeting will take place on Sunday April 11th at 1 PM. Annual reports will be distributed by the Deacons soon - watch for your copy!
