I am not good at journaling and I am very visual so I thought I would “draw” the ideas of the Chapters in John. It helps me understand what is going on. I like when it says that we get one blessing after another.
Not sure where to write this but I want to thank all those who sent me a Christmas card. It’s waaayyy more than I have ever received over the years. It was a true blessing. It really makes me feel connected to you all, in spite of the pandemic. Blessings to you all.
Authenticity. Real people sharing life together, and finding hope in Jesus together.
Hi friends. Hoping to start a discussion on this page if that’s ok. There was talk tonight at the vision meeting about people having ministry ideas. I don’t recall if anything was said about who to talk to about our ideas. So I’m posting here. I would love to revisit having a women’s ministry night (or day), maybe once a month. I definitely don’t think I could pull this off on my own but I do think I would be interested in being part of a team of women who would like to get something like this off the ground. And if someone wants to lead, even better! Any interest in this? Please comment below.
Hey all you Jericho Ridge-ites! I am asking for prayer in that the Langley Food Bank is needing more volunteer help for the distribution days. They are short of people and now need to shut down distribution of food etc to the poor and needy on Fridays leaving only Mondays and Wednesday’s. The Food Bank literally has tons of food to give away and not enough volunteers to help! Please pray that the Lord would put a burden on people’s heart to come and volunteer for 5 hours a week. If anyone you know would be interested in this great ministry or if you have any questions please feel to call or message me.
I have a fun volunteer opportunity for those of you itching to get out and serve the community. Around 8 people are needed in Fort Langley on the afternoon of Saturday July 21 to help set up the site for the Prospera Valley GranFondo. I know that everyone at JRCC is super spiritual and would serve out of the purest of motives, but in case people need further inducements… a) You will be supporting (indirectly) the team from CanIL, who are raising awareness of Bible Poverty, as well as scholarships to enable students such as Jesse Workman to graduate debt-free and therefore get to the field sooner. b) It’s a very low-bar serving opportunity. c) There are goodies on offer (T-shirts and other swag) d) There will be a volunteer appreciation event hosted by Trading Post Brewing in the week following the event – date to be announced. You can sign up here:
Friends, family, brothers and sisters in Christ: The Langley Food Bank needs your prayers. Our 3 ton truck which is used to pick up donated foods has lost its engine. The estimate to replace/repair was $20,000 which is just not in our budget. We ask for you to pray to our Lord that he would provide either a new 3 ton truck, new engine or someone willing to repair/rebuild the old one….or whatever else he has in mind for the Food Bank. Please help us reach out in prayer as currently the Food Bank is renting a truck every week and this is also very costly and not in our budget. We know the Lord can provide! We look forward with anticipation to sharing the miracle He has planned for us in continuing His ministry to the poor and needy of the Langleys. Joel Schacter (Board Member)
Katelyn and I are moving on Saturday morning and are looking for some help. If you are willing and able let me know! [email protected]
Very quick stop through town and saw this sign. 👍

Life together in community is both deeply rewarding and deeply challenging. Currently, COVID has created the conditions whereby we are out of the habit of this basic discipline. What does it mean for us as individuals, as a faith community, and as a culture to re-engage in a rhythm of community life together?

Oops! Sorry to those who were watching our brand new Sunday AM live stream option over on Telus Optik TV channel 878. Unfortunately, we set it up to time out at 60 minutes and the gathering lasted a bit longer (you know those pastor-types :)) so you got cut off abruptly at the end. We'll work to resolve that for next weekend. (Other that this, we welcome your feedback on this new initiative).

Some people have a practice of fasting for Lent. What’s the purpose and importance of fasting? Is there a difference between intermittent fasting for my health and fasting for spiritual purposes? Do I have to fast only from food or can I give up other stuff? (like Facebook). Join us for a discussion on what to do and what not to do with regards to this overlooked but dynamic spiritual practice. https://www.jerichoridge.com/sermon/understanding-fasting/

Real People; Real Faith; Real Life

At Jericho Ridge, you will discover a warm group of real people dedicated to following Jesus and making his presence known in our community. It’s pretty hard to describe ourselves succinctly and that’s probably a good thing because we’re not too fond of stereotypes. Perhaps the easiest way to put it is that we’re on a journey and we want to help each other get there. Why don't you join us!
