We welcome you to join us in discovering new life in Jesus Christ. Our services are held every Sunday at 10:30 at Webster's Corners Elementary School located at 25554 Dewdney Trunk Rd, Maple Ridge, BC. Please visit our website to learn more about our values, view our online service, or get information about events and activities.
Operating as usual
How was your thanksgiving celebration? This past Sunday we explored the way Paul’s letters to the 1st Century churches were filled with celebration. He felt a special obligation to give thanks to God for the faith journey of Christians. In relationship with Jesus we always have reason to celebrate. And when we do, it is another indication that we are living life with thankfulness. You can view the sermon “The Evidence of Celebration” at cornerstoneneighbourhood.com / sermons.
"Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever." (Psalm 106:1)
How much money does one have to give to be considered generous? When the Apostle Paul was helping the Christians in Corinth to kickstart a relief project, he did not advise an arbitrary amount. Instead, he taught them that true generosity is linked to thanksgiving. A thankful person lives to give the way Jesus gave Himself to us. This calls the giver to be cheerful, intentional, and sacrificial, and empowered by God to be generous. You can listen to “The Evidence of Generosity” at cornerstoneneighbourhood.com/sermons.
Hey! There is only three more sleeps until Cornerstone begins meeting at Webster's Corners Elementary School. If you plan to attend our worship service at WCES on October 4, please RSVP at our website - we are adhering to COVID-19 gathering guidelines.
In our current series of sermons called “Thankful” we are trying to get beyond superficial gratitude. We are looking for solid proof in the life of the Jesus follower that thankfulness is present…and authentic. This past Sunday we looked at the evidence of submission. As William Temple said about worship (which includes thanksgiving), we must "devote our the will to the purpose of God." You can view this sermon at cornerstoneneighbourhood.com / sermons.
We are on the move! Starting on October 4 our worship services will be held in the gym at Webster's Corners Elementary School, 10:30 am. You are welcomed to join us, however you will need to RSVP at cornerstoneneighbourhood.com as we are following COVID-19 gathering requirements.
Sunday, September 27, is a day in which International Justice Mission asks churches around the globe to pray for the 40 million people who are held in slavery. Currently, IJM is the largest international anti-slavery organization in the world with a vision to rescue millions, protect half a billion people, and make justice for the poor unstoppable. IJM has rescued more than 49,000 people from oppression. Today, they are helping local justice systems protect more than 150 million people from violence around the world. Visit www.ijm.ca to learn more.
ijm.ca You can help us rescue children, women and men who are trapped in slavery and being trafficked. Join us in the fight to end slavery in our lifetime.
The letters Paul sent to 1st Century churches are saturated with examples and exhortations to give thanks. In fact, if we conduct a “CSI: Gratitude” so to speak, we discover that there should be clear evidence of thankfulness in the lives of Jesus’ followers. You can view the first message in this series - “The Evidence of Joy” - go to cornerstoneneighbourhood.com / sermons.
How do we navigate the road ahead? This past Sunday we explored the fine art of letting go and the fine line of reaching forward. The Apostle Paul’s honest confession in Philippians 3:12-14 explains these two essential actions which lead to a life of spiritual transformation and progression. You can view this sermon at cornerstoneneighbourhood.com / sermons.
Sometimes we can be tempted to hold onto what has happened in the past, whether great or terrible, but Ps Brent outlines what it takes to have faith in Jesus in order to move forward. This isn't always easy, but as we look to Jesus for direction and put our trust in Him, we will discover the fresh new future at work in our lives.

Many Christians remain tragically unaware of the spiritual riches that belong to them because of their relationship with Jesus Christ. In his letter to the Ephesian church, the apostle Paul offered a passionate prayer that every follower of Jesus would appreciate and appropriate their inheritance in Christ. You can view the message, “You’re Richer Than You Think” at cornerstoneneighbourhood.com / sermons
As some of us are enjoying meeting at the picnic the rest of us will enjoy todays service from the comfort of home.
Ps Brent tells a story of how a bank tried to make their customers feel good while unintentionally providing a great topic for study: "You're Richer Than You Think". We hope you are blessed by this message.

Pray for encouragement and perseverance for missionaries ministering in areas of the world that are strictly restricted by COVID-19, like Spain, for example. Ministry is difficult for them given the increasing limitations on contact with friends. Pray that they would be strengthened and empowered by the Holy Spirit, and that they would be creative in this new ministry climate.

As we have studied the story of Nehemiah we have seen a man who was joyfully available for God’s Kingdom and passionate in prayer. His work to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem was fueled by deliberate dependence upon God. What is more, he left the final results of his service up to God. You can view the final sermon “Unto The Lord” at cornerstoneneighbourhood.com
“There is no experience in our Christian life, no matter how exhilarating or triumphant, which imparts to us strength for the future. It leaves us just as poor and helpless and needy as before, but for the grace of God and the power of the blood of Jesus.”
Alan Redpath (Victorious Christian Service)
Houston we are ready for launch! We will be launching our year of Youth Group with a special evening filled with games, food, and a campfire. Bring your friends and come have some fun as we explore what God has in store for us this coming year!
For the time being, we will be having a Youth Bible Study every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. Every 1st and 3rd Tuesday we will be having a Youth Jam Night where the youth can feel free to bring an instrument or play one provided.
Due to the small nature and musical talent within our current Youth Group we are striving to be highly relational and discipleship focused as we bring up the next generation of pastors, ministry leaders, and worship musicians. Our hope this year is for the Youth to grow in their understanding of worshipping our Heavenly Father and the importance of being in Christ's Church.

Looking for an opportunity to love on your city? We have something super exciting coming up that we need your help with!
On Saturday, September 12th we are planning a Serve Maple Ridge Day- a day to make it known to our community that we as the church care deeply for them, and we want to show it in a really practical way!
We are proudly partnering with our local government and a few local organizations to determine improvement projects around the city that we can partake in on this day. Our hope is to scatter groups of volunteers all across the city to work on these projects and spread joy to everyone we come into contact with!
Matthew 20:28 "just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Correction lines were used by the Dominion Land Survey to keep prairie land parcels equal in size. Sometimes God brings “correction lines” into our lives to realign us with His will. This past Sunday we considered Nehemiah 9:6-37 which is a comprehensive confession by God’s people. Having been convicted about their sin, they desired a new start with God. Their prayer contains a deep understanding of how God restores all who seek His mercy and forgiveness. You can listen at cornerstoneneighbourhood.com/sermons.
As some from the church are enjoying the Church Campout this weekend we're continuing our look through Nehemiah. Brent is talking about Correction Lines, times where God adjusts our perspectives and circumstances to help realign us on Himself. Spiritual revivals produce fresh encounters with Jesus. Acts 2 records the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit produced a powerful vibrancy within 1st Century followers of Jesus. As a result the infant church found flexible but intentional ways of being the church in a challenging context - which led to incredible growth. The same Spirit-led structure can help us to pivot in this pandemic. Listen to “Comprehending Christian Community” at cornerstoneneighbourhood.com/sermons.
Today as we gather in person and online we are reflecting on Acts 2:36-47. Looking at ‘Comprehending Christian Community’ it is a great opportunity to learn what “links” us together as the body of Christ. What a privilege it is to worship our creator together and to have a Spiritual family to “go the distance” with.

This Sunday evening please join us for "park & prayer". We'll meet at Webster's Corners Park at 6 pm. Bring a coffee or tea and a lawn chair for a relaxed, socially distant time of fellowship and prayer.
Our focus on God’s Word this past Sunday centered on a wonderful praise song. Psalm 116 is a powerful, personal testimony to the goodness and grace of God which was shared “in the presence of all His people.” This psalm was significant for our Sunday of reconnecting in person after 17 weeks without a worship service. What is more, Psalm 116 reveals the components of a “Kingdom Dream”. Visit cornerstoneneighbourhood.com/sermons for a video of the worship service and video.
Good morning everyone! As we kick July off with our Reconnection Plan at Maple Woods, we are still putting service videos out for those of you who cannot join us in person this morning.
