We are here to help you plan the best night possible.

Tomorrow we are going to talk through the basics of pulling off an amazing event. We will also spend time answering your questions!

Dear HistoryMaker participant,

This week the Leadership Team of HistoryMaker 2020 held an important meeting (via zoom) to discuss the cancellation of our annual youth conference this coming May 22-24 (in both locations of Chilliwack and Nanaimo).
Please understand, this was not an easy conversation. Our deliberations included the government’s strict restrictions around mass gatherings and social distancing, coupled with several pre-existing cancellation notices we received from our conference hotels, primary and secondary break-out venues, airlines (for ministry guests), catering companies, and other conference services.

The Lead Team’s unanimous recommendation to cancel this year’s HistoryMaker conferences was later evaluated by our District Leadership Team and a difficult decision was made to cancel this year’s conference and concentrate our efforts on making HistoryMaker 2021 an epic event.

Please join us in standing strong together, and shining BRIGHTER during this dark and uncertain time in History. Let’s make history together.

We are very aware of the concerns surrounding the COVID-19 virus and encourage all of our Historymaker Family to follow the guidelines suggested by Canada’s Public Health Agency on their website. We are continuing to monitor the situation in conjunction with our venues as well as the leadership of our PAOC District Network Office.

At this point, we are continuing to plan and prepare for the weekend while taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our attendees, staff and guests.
We will be following the Canadian Public Health Agency’s best practices as we prepare for Historymaker Weekend 2020. In the event of needing to cancel or postpone the weekend, our team will communicate these changes as soon as possible.

Thank you for your ongoing prayers for HM2020 and for continuing to join us in prayer for those being impacted nationally and internationally by COVID-19.

Hello Historymaker Family!

Please welcome Allen de Jong as our new Historymaker Director!

Allen and Bernine have been involved in ministry with youth and young adults for over 12 years now. They spent their first 8.5 years of ministry in Airdrie, Alberta, serving at the same church they both grew up in (Living Springs Christian Fellowship). Following their time in Airdrie, they took a later-in-life gap year and spent some time overseas doing missions, teaching English, and seeing some incredible sights! Shortly after returning to Canada, they found themselves on the move once again, heading to Vancouver Island to serve at Northgate Foursquare Church. They have absolutely loved living on the West (or ‘Wet’) Coast and are excited that even though they’re moving to the Lower Mainland, the beaches of Tofino will only be a short ferry ride— and a 2-hour drive— away!

While they don’t yet have any children, they have two pets, which they love just as much as children: Lennon (cocker spaniel) and Dublyn (not-so-miniature pig). No, that was not a typo. And yes, they own a pig. In their free time, the de Jongs love getting out to their favourite coffee shop and playing a rousing game of cribbage. They will humbly welcome all challengers to a game anytime. Allen and Bernine are excited to join the Next Gen team and can’t wait to see what God is going to do in the lives of the young people of this district! They look forward to meeting you at Historymaker Weekend in May!
