Welcome to the Bridge Community Church! Please see more information below! Vision: Creating and nurturing spaces of connection with God, each other, and neighbour. The Bridge has always valued the accessibility of the gospel. Good news is meant to be shared. As ambassadors for the kingdom of God (2 Corinthians 5:20) we seek to abide in Christ and abide among our neighbour - each of these opportunities is a gift given to us, and not wanting to squander these gifts, we seek to create and nurture those spaces in which we abide in Christ and abide with neighbour. We realize that beliefs void of practice are weak. And therefore we strive to have corresponding practices with our vision and values. Values: Discipleship: Our purpose is to develop mature Christians - people who know God and His Word, who are united in faith and doctrine, who are aware of their God-given gifts, and who are thoroughly prepared for and engaged in service. Fellowship: In our fellowship we recognize that we are all part of Christ's body. Therefore if one member suffers, we all suffer together; if one member rejoices, we all rejoice together. We care for one another, serving one another in love. Outreach: We seek to live in such a way that all may see the Spirit of God in us. We share the joy of our salvation with our families, friends, neighbours, and coworkers. We actively seek to rescue the lost so that they can see beyond darkness into the light of God's love. Social Action: Recognizing that our God is a God of justice and compassion, we commit ourselves to live justly and compassionately in our world. This involves prayer, political action and practical care for the disadvantaged; those who are hungry, disabled, poor, prisoners, elderly, homeless and others.

Mission: Creating and nurturing spaces of connection with God, each other, and neighbour.

Operating as usual

This Sunday we are blessed to have Natasha Vedder from Fleetwood CRC coming to preach for us! Where do you find yourself in the story of Jesus' resurrection? The Good News of Jesus Christ was and still is life changing news. The challenge for Christians is to communicate that Good News in a way that speaks to our world today. Join us on Sunday as we explore the incredible story of the Resurrection of Jesus and what it means for all of us.

Our online service begins Sunday morning at 10:00am online here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp-29ODT_A2LwhE4yqRcJYg

We often get into trouble in the church when we try to live in the past, when we try to recapture ‘the good ol’ days.’ Paul seems to be dealing with a similar issue in Philippians 3; people trying to control the church by living in the old law. Join us online this Sunday as we reflect on what it means to 'forget what is behind and strain towards what is ahead.’

The fresh coat of paint and re-surfaced parking lot are looking fantastic!!

This Sunday, Council is hosting a Town Hall Meeting in lieu of a Sunday morning service. We request that one member per family make it a priority to participate. We are eager to allow this time and space for a check in and time of connection that we are all desiring at this time.

We ask for those that are attending the meeting in person to please wear a mask, hand sanitize upon arrival, respect social distancing, and arrive on time.

Please email [email protected] for a link to the zoom meeting if you are attending from home.

This Sunday we welcome Pastor Kevin Lobert, Youth Pastor at Immanuel CRC.

Our online service begins Sunday morning at 10:00am online here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp-29ODT_A2LwhE4yqRcJYg

As we continue on in our sermon series on Philippians, we will be looking at one of the core themes of this letter: Unity! Our world is divided by so many things that unity seems a rare commodity. Join us as we reflect on how, as a church, we can become a beacon on unity in our world, and through that be a light for the world around us. Our online service begins Sunday morning at 10:00am online here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp-29ODT_A2LwhE4yqRcJYg

This Sunday we will be celebrating Thanksgiving. What is there to be thankful for this year? Well, if we all think about it there are still many simple and ordinary things which are all daily graces from God and for which we ought to come together (online) to give thanks. If you are not attending in person, the online service begins Sunday morning at 10:00am online here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp-29ODT_A2LwhE4yqRcJYg

This Sunday we are blessed to have Pastor Joan DeVries from TWU joining us to preach and lead us. Joan DeVries is an ordained Christian Reformed pastor, who, after leading several congregations in Ontario, is now a Professor of Worship Arts at Trinity Western University. She and her husband live in Fort Langley.

Pastor Joan will be preaching on Psalm 103: 8-18. In this challenging time, we might wonder who God is and what God is doing. In addition, we might have faulty views of God based on our own experience of a father. Psalm 103 will help reorient us to knowing our God who is loving and good.

This week Pastor George will continue on in his sermon series on Philippians. This Sunday we focus on what is the church’s goal (Phil. 1:12-14, 21-26). This will be an adapted worship service with only the sermon and the celebration of the Lord’s Supper. If you have not signed up to attend church Sunday morning in person, our online service begins Sunday morning at 10:00am online here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp-29ODT_A2LwhE4yqRcJYg

This week Pastor George is beginning a sermon series on the book of Philippians. This in an incredibly pastoral letter written by a pastor (Paul) while he is sitting in a dark prison. This week we will look at the beginning of the letter where Paul speaks of his affection and prayer for the church in Philippi. If you are not attending in person, the online service begins Sunday morning at 10:00am online here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp-29ODT_A2LwhE4yqRcJYg

This Sunday we will be reflecting on what happens when life doesn’t seem to be turning out the way we had hoped. Join us for a time of lament as we seek to place our trust in God.

17 Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.

19 The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to tread on the heights.

For the director of music. On my stringed instruments.

In Mark 3:31-35, Jesus seems to ignore his biological family and state that he has a new family found in his followers. How does Jesus really feel about family, and how should our churches respond?

This week we welcome Dena Nicolai, a Chaplain and Refugee Support Mobilizer in Vancouver. Continuing on with scripture passages drawn from the Lectionary, this week we'll be looking at the end of Romans 8. Here, Paul reminds our suffering world that life through the Spirit is life with Jesus, who loved us enough to suffer for us and who still suffers with us. In the midst of this, Paul calls us to grief and lament, asking us to first name the brokenness around us so that we can then work together with God as he conquers evil and renews all things.

This week we finish up our mini sermon-series from Matthew 10, focusing on how Jesus send us out into his mission. We previously looked at the themes of Compassion and Courage, and this week we will be looking at the theme of Character. What does Jesus say about our character when we choose to follow him and interact with the world around us?

This week we'll be looking at the second of a mini three-part sermon series from Matthew 10, which outlines the first steps of discipleship and mission into the world. Last week we looked at the call to Compassion, this week we look at the call to Courage.

This week Pastor George is going to begin preaching from the lectionary. In the church calendar we find ourselves in what is known as “Ordinary Time,” but I think we can agree there seems to be nothing “ordinary” about this time. Join us this week as we look at Jesus' response to the crowds of people he encounters on his journeys.

This Sunday we are going to begin our partial reopening of the church on Sunday mornings! You will also need to abide by our Safety Protocols which will be sent to you. Please email the church for more info: [email protected]

This Sunday is Pentecost, the day in which we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit! As Christians we often have a pretty good idea of who God (the Father) is, who Jesus is and what he did, but we can sometimes be a bit fuzzy on the role of the Holy Spirit. Join us online this Sunday as we reflect on the person and role of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Our online service begins Sunday morning at 10:00am online here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp-29ODT_A2LwhE4yqRcJYg?fbclid=IwAR1PvZ9v7cB25ZZUgcdE7klmXfqemkw2DJTmZva3vN0E0NO5CA_eyjoHhDQ

This week we will be celebrating the Ascension of Jesus. What is the Ascension all about? Does it matter, why is it significant, what does it mean for us today? These are some of the questions we will be reflecting on as we look at Acts. 1:1-11 together. Join us once again for our online service beginning Sunday morning at 10:00am online here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp-29ODT_A2LwhE4yqRcJYg

This week we come to the end of our 31-week sermon series from The Story. To conclude our series we are going to be looking at Jesus’ claim, “I am the beginning and the end.” We will also be reflecting on what the book of Revelation is actually trying to communicate to us. Join us for our live-stream service beginning Sunday morning at 10:00am online here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp-29ODT_A2LwhE4yqRcJYg

This Sunday is our second-to-last sermon from The Story! We will be looking at one of the main themes which we have seen throughout the Bible: Covenant. We will be reflecting on how the whole story of Scripture is really a story of Covenant, and how that continues on today! Join us once again online!

Our live-stream service will begin Sunday morning at 10:00am online here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp-29ODT_A2LwhE4yqRcJYg?fbclid=IwAR1PvZ9v7cB25ZZUgcdE7klmXfqemkw2DJTmZva3vN0E0NO5CA_eyjoHhDQ

Throughout God’s story of Scripture there has been a key plot-line building: Mission. This theme really breaks out of the background of Scripture in the coming of Christ and is key to the rest of the New Testement. But what is our role in this mission? In what capacity are we called into this building project? Join us online this Sunday as we reflect on this key to God’s story!

Participate with us Sunday morning at 10:00am online here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp-29ODT_A2LwhE4yqRcJYg?fbclid=IwAR1PvZ9v7cB25ZZUgcdE7klmXfqemkw2DJTmZva3vN0E0NO5CA_eyjoHhDQ

This Sunday we will begin our look into the book of Acts, reflecting on the essence of the church and what the result of the coming of the Holy Spirit was. How do we be church in this time of physical distancing? Join us this week as we reflect on this early summary (Acts 2:42-47) of what church really is!

Join us online once again this week as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord! This will an Easter like no other, and yet it may very well be one that brings us closest to that very first Easter morning when Jesus was raised from the dead. We hope you can participate with us! He has risen!

This Sunday is Palm Sunday and we begin our journey to the cross and resurrection! This Sunday we will be looking at the story of Jesus washing his disciples feet and how this story encompasses so much of what God has been doing throughout all of Scripture, and of course, will do on the cross. Join us on our live-stream at 10am! Our Youtube Channel can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp-29ODT_A2LwhE4yqRcJYg

Join us for our live-streamed service again this Sunday at 10am as we worship and reflect on God’s word once again. We will be reflecting on the story of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead, found in John 11.

Well somehow this Sunday we are going to focus on Christmas, Epiphany, and Lent all in one! With our sermon series from The Story now shifting to the New Testament, we are looking this Sunday at how Jesus comes to earth as king. What does Jesus Christ as “king” have to do with our everyday stories and God’s wider story in history?

Join us this week as we witness two baptisms, the first Sunday of Lent, and also have some Soup and Buns after the service! Pastor George will be preaching on Malachi 3:1-2, bringing to a close the Old Testament portion of The Story as we begin preparing ourselves for the fulfillment of God’s covenant in Christ!

Do you ever feel like your faith is dried up? Do you feel starved for something more than just going through the motions? In the middle of the exile the prophet Ezekiel is given a vision of dried up dead bones, yet they don’t stay dead for long! Join us this week as we look at the dry life of exile but the promise of life given in the Spirit!
This Sunday’s scripture (Ezekiel 37: 1-14) is available to read online here: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ezekiel%2037%3A1-14&version=NIV

This week we welcome Pastor Len Batterink to lead us in God’s word. We will be looking at the story of the fall of Jerusalem. Jerusalem fell when its king and its people were unfaithful. Christians follow the eternal king (of David's line) and are called to be faithful to him.
