Who Is The Holy Spirit? Guidance Giver | February 14, 2021

Religion so often is a nasty pile of rules and a burden that can crush the human spirit. That is not the intention of our loving Father God. His plan is that we might know true freedom. He wants us to be free to be all that He created us to be. That doesn’t mean becoming marathon running religionists. It means trusting him and walking in His way as He leads us every day. Let’s look at Galatians 5:13-18 to better understand the wonderful work of the Holy Spirit who leads us into that freedom and fullness.

1 Corinthians 12:1-11 is one of many places in the New Testament where we read about how God displays his power within the church. Many are practiced, some aren't, and there are differing ideas as to what it's meant to accomplish. Join us to hear more about the key reasons why we are given gifts of the Holy Spirit and why they are so vitally important today.

Who Is The Holy Spirit? Freedom Fighter | January 31, 2021

History has shown that for a people to find freedom, there is usually a fight. William Wilberforce headed the parliamentary campaign against the British slave trade for twenty years until the passage of the Slave Trade Act of 1807.

In biblical times, it was the same. When the Israelites were in bondage they needed divine, spectacular intervention by God: plagues, sea parting so they could be delivered from the hands of the Egyptians. It’s the same with the human person, even today. This message is about the Holy Spirit being a freedom fighter.

In our series 'Who is the Holy Spirit?' we've been exploring the beautiful Person He is and the kinds of work He does among us. All thus far have been uplifting. But in this passage, we face a stark reality as Christians. In our age, before the return of Christ, we will need help. The reason is because of the challenges we will all inevitably face as we seek to faithfully follow Jesus. Please join us as we delve in.

Who doesn’t need more wisdom? Scottish author George MacDonald, an inspiration for authors C. S. Lewis and J. R. Tolkein, penned Donal Grant in the late 1800s. In it, a young college grad sets out on a journey to a nearby town where he finds spiritual mentors – the wisest man in town turns out to be the local cobbler. Where does one get true wisdom? Join us as we delve further into the work of the Holy Spirit.

Is it good works mostly? This passage is a continuation of our trek in understanding who the Holy Spirit is. Please join us as we explore further.

Hard Talks: I Have Seen The Lord | November 22, 2020

It is meant to be a conversation stopper. I was chatting with a young guy in a drive-thru of all places and as I was asking him questions about life and faith, he said matter of factly, "I'm a science guy." (mic drop)
In an age of increasing resistance to any claims of the miraculous, how do we engage our world with a faith that is fundamentally a miraculous one? How do we respond to the statement, "I can't believe in miracles"? Come this Sunday and explore with us.

Hard Talks: I Can't Believe In God With All This Suffering | November 15, 2020

It cuts us deep. Our pain or someone else’s. The inevitable query is, “God, how could you let this happen?” Two logical outcomes are that it’s either God’s fault or an outright denial of the existence of God at all. Join us as we address and learn to navigate through the problem of pain and suffering.

He Has Made Him Known | November 8, 2020

Today, to claim that Christianity is true and other belief systems are false is a very offensive thing to say. Because we live in modern pluralism which says there is diversity of beliefs. And you don’t want to disrespect people and be an intolerant person. And while it is true that all people are deserving of respect, not all ideas about life should be on the same level of acceptance and respect. This Sunday we will use the beginning of the gospel of John to answer the common statement, "Christianity can't be the only true religion." Come join us this Sunday to hear more.

Hard Talks: He Loved Them to the End | November 1, 2020

You don't have to look far to find people who have been burned by the church. If you look at the latest polls, there are millions of unchurched adults who are believers of Jesus. There are scores of reasons why people aren't gathering at church, but a prominent one is that they have experienced hurt, conflict, and "difficult people". What would Jesus have to say about this? Join us to find out.

Radiant Kids | November 1, 2020

[10/25/20]   Ever sense when you talk about Jesus with someone, it feels like you’re speaking a different language? You commend the Bible to them but you perceive that there is a huge disconnect. They would say in polite terms that it's irrelevant to them. People today have been shaken up by the pandemic but for the most part, people would say they are content, comfortable with life, they have everything they need, they have enough people around them that approve of them, and they have a good handle on life. What would Jesus say about this?

Hard Talks: Justice and Love | October 18, 2020

If there is one passage from the Bible that is quoted most often from our secular friends, it would be this one - "Do not judge." Most of the skeptical statements we have explored thus far do have a ring of truth to them. The statement we are exploring this weekend has more than a ring, it's a gong - "Why are Christians so judgmental?" What would Jesus have to say about this? Come join us!
