This is a note from a local slopitch league. Bethel is not a part of this league but some Bethel people might be interested:
Langley Church Slopitch 2016 season will be starting on April 1 and I wanted to get the word out that we are looking for new teams to join our league. We play exclusively in Langley at 2 home fields we have had for over 20 years, so there is no travel involved. We have a recreational division for newer teams just looking to play some fun ball and also have a competitive division for the more advanced teams. You may also have members of your congregation who may be looking to play ball and need a team. We always have teams looking to add a player or 2.

But I gave up those THINGS that were so important to me for Christ. Even more than that, I think of everything as worth NOTHING. It is so much better to KNOW Christ Jesus MY LORD. I have lost everything for HIM. And I think of these things as worth nothing so that I can HAVE CHRIST. I want to be as one with Him. I could not BE RIGHT with God by what the Law said I MUST DO. I was made right with God by FAITH IN CHRIST. I want to KNOW Him. I want to have the same power in MY LIFE that raised Jesus from the dead. I want to UNDERSTAND and have a share in His SUFFERINGS and be like Christ in His death. Then I may be raised up from among the dead.

"Healing through Forgiveness" is the testimony that John & Eloise Bergen will be sharing at Bethel on Good Friday. John and Eloise were missionaries in Kenya, attacked and brutally beaten for their faith in 2008. Come and hear their moving story on April 3rd at 7 pm at Bethel's Good Friday Communion Service.
ctvnews.ca A missionary working for a Canadian organization had only one thing on her mind when thugs armed with machetes and clubs broke into her home in Kenya: She had to find a way to save her husband.
"My brothers and sisters, have you learned what is the first and the greatest thing you have to do every day? Nothing less and nothing greater than to seek this God, to meet Him, to worship Him, to live for Him and for His glory... to consider fellowship with God every day as the chief end of life."
"...[Bethel] shall not we too give ourselves no rest until we have found a place for the Mighty One in our hearts and yielded ourselves to the great work of intercession for so many after whom the desires of God are going out."
"...I have called you friends..." (John 15:15) True friendship is rare on earth. It means identifying with someone in thought, heart, and spirit. The whole experience of life is designed to enable us to enter into this closest relationship with Jesus Christ. We receive His blessings and know His Word, but do we really know Him?
