Hi everyone, we are looking to find a home church close to where we live. We are on the 200 st and 68 Avenue so we are looking for something around there or somewhere close to the school or where the main church is. Is someone getting together? Thank you!
My daughter Natalia is looking for a skateboard to use that somebody would like to sell in good conditions!!! Let us know please !!!!
I am offering FREE handmade face masks. They have nose wire and pocket for filter. Please private message me if interested in getting some for yourself, family or friends.
My Parents who are in their 80s have a one bedroom basement suite in the Guild area, which they would like to rent to a quit clean single person or a couple. No pets No smoking
Preferably someone who would be willing to shovel the snow in the winter and perhaps help with lawn mowing in the summer.
Its a small one bedroom, good for one or two people. Kitchen with 24 inch 1 yr old stove, 24 inch fridge 1 yr old, double sink. Small eating area enough room for small table 2 -3 chairs.
Floor to ceiling onyx fireplace which really looks good but because its for wood we do not want it to be used. Bedroom perhaps abt 10 by 11, with fairly big closet. Full bath room with tub with shower.
Private entrance, walk through utility room.
With rent get use of washer dryer, cable with PVR Box, and Internet.
Parking for one car.
Each room has a thermostatic control electric heating.
Rent is $700. ( this is a reduced rate for the snow removal and occasional help with the lawn)
Bus stop is about 1/4 block walk to Surrey Place to catch Skytrain.
Or a 4 block walk to Surrey Central Sky Train.
Also, they have a love seat and a couch which pulls down for a bed, in the living room area which they would leave if someone wants to use it. Can enjoy the shared yard in the summer, which has big trees for shade and nicely landscaped

I believe that the Holy Spirit has the ability to speak intense words of encouragement to you through this song - this is because I have been encouraged to the point of physically "jumping for joy" in thankfulness for what our God has done for us!!!
----------------------------------------------------------------
After watching-listening to this video/song, I felt so compelled by the Spirit to share it for your benefit too..and according to this songs lyrics, here is what I have compiled to say to you:

My Brothers and Sisters, In this time of desperation, when all we know is doubt and fear, We should fear no more because there is only one foundation:
We ALL believe in God the Father, we believe in Jesus Christ, we believe in the Holy Spirit, so we believe that He overcame death and still does overcome it!!
Even in the midst of this pandemic of the Coronavirus, let the lost be found! In the here and now - during this time of persecution from the enemy - this Coronavirus, let LOVE invade!!
LET THE CHURCH "LIVE LOVE" TOWARDS OTHERS!
The gates of hell will not prevail my Brothers and Sisters!!
For the power of God, has torn the vail!!

TIME TO TAKE A STAND AND LIVE OUT GOD'S LOVE TO OTHERS, AND DECLARE THE JESUS THE HOPE FOR ALL NATIONS!!!!

Some encouraging breaking news from CBC regarding BC and covid-19. The Ministry of Health believes the steps we have taken are working and we are starting to see the much anticipated “flattening of the curve”, according to Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry:

"I'm trying not to over-call it, but I do believe we've seen a flattening, a falling-off of that curve," Henry said, referring to the growth of new COVID-19 patients. We think that we've reduced that quite dramatically. What we need, though, is for everybody to continue to pay attention to these measures so we can continue to prevent transmissions in our communities ... for the coming weeks."

In addition, if we look at worst case scenario models, we have the hospital capacity to deal with this.

Very good news, but its early days and the Minister has stressed that we need to stay on this track in order to win the battle.

Yes & Amen, Yes & Amen, YES & AMEN!!👏🙏✝️❤️
The info stated below comes straight from the Prime Minister's himself via CBC live news:

Trudeau just banned flights from other countries that are coming to Canada.

Trudeau is calling out to all Canadians abroad - that it's time to come home. They must come home.

Trudeau says that American Citizens, diplomats, & flight crews are ALLOWED to enter Canada but residents from other countries are NOT allowed to be let in.

Trudeau says thatTrade organizations' personnel are also allowed entry to Canada in order to keep the flow of ESSENTIAL supplies, active.

Trudeau has urged that we practice "Social distancing measures" domestically, but He also emphasizes tha we continue to keep contact with friends and family via phone call or video chatting.

My friends,

....stay safe...stay sanitized...stay sane.

REMEMBER, GOD IS IN CONTROL OVER ALL OF THIS!
DO NOT FEAR!

The Gentleness of Jesus

The new After Sunday podcast is out!

“The Gentleness of Jesus”
This is our fifth podcast within our Shalom series. In this episode we chat about the New Testament and its teaching on gentleness. We acknowledge that the church has a gentleness problem, that there has been a dangerous lack of teaching on gentleness, and we discuss how gentleness is actually the power of Christ- a power that can bring healing to our relationships. Also in this episode- we chat about Frankenstein, the Social Dilemma, Ravi Zacharias, our love for Waco Texas, preachers that yell, and the fact that Chris Tomlin's parents are really really nice people.

This is our fourth podcast within our Shalom series. In this episode, we are joined by our special guest: Tim McCarthy!

Following up from his Sunday sermon we chat with him about brain science, about living as the faithful presence of Jesus amidst a polarized age, and we chat about the Biblical images of salt, mustard seeds, and yeast.

Also in this episode- we chat about the Super Bowl, Tim being Cory's "super fan", Matthew and Cory both forgetting Tim's job title, and Cory 'kind of' apologizes for sharing a debunked coronavirus theory.

This is our third podcast within our Shalom series. In this episode, Matthew and Cory chat about what the Apostle Paul meant in Romans 14 when he uses the phrase “disputable issues”. are there issues that Christians can agree to disagree on? If so, how does that work? We look at same-sex marriage as a case study. Also, we chat about some riveting details regarding Cory’s lunch, the truth about the Wuhan Street market, and licking chimpanzees.

Happy Monday NLCC! Say hello to the Warneke’s!

“We started attending NLCC in the summer of 1996 when the church was still meeting at James Kennedy Elementary. We have 3 kids who have attended NLCC with us too. Calvin would tell you that he is a professional problem solver with a financial focus, in other words he’s a certified financial planner. Suzie plays with preschoolers most days as she teaches at Wind and Tide and also helps with their social media accounts.

One of our favourite things to do together is serve at Living Well. A place where conversations about mental health are the norm and where it’s okay to be having a bad day, but hopefully the hope of Jesus will provide the needed light.

We would love pray as we continue to find ways to support, encourage and educate others as they live with or care for someone with a mental illness. We’d also love prayer for our family as we walk alongside Cal’s mom who recently had a life-changing stroke.”

Life Together is the best way to get connected into Life Group’s here at NLCC! Here is an encouraging testimony from our friend, Gisele: “I am brand new to NLCC... I joined the Life Together Course and the Alpha Course right from the get go", last Fall (Sept. 2020), as I wanted to "test the waters" and see if NLCC was where I was to become planted.

Both courses have been a wonderful way to connect with people (and the on-line experience has Not hindered that process whatsoever.) :) Being in a Life Group especially, has been (and continues to be), an excellent experience for me. Community is so invaluable, especially during these unique times. I am grateful for NLCC and our Life Group. We are thriving and gelling together as a Life Group! It's AWEsome!) God is sooooo Faithful." :)

Blessings to all... :)” #nlccfriends

NEW After Sunday Podcast episode "Argument Culture"

In this first episode of the new year, Matthew & Cory talk about our recent Shalom series where we are learning to follow Jesus in an angry, anxious, and polarized world. We look specifically at "argument culture" and discuss more humble ways to engage in dialogue with each other. Also in this episode- we chat about Avalon's incredible Christian hit "Testify to Love", whether a backbone is the same thing as a spine, Cory's powerful quote in the Globe and Mail: 'there were sniffles and stuff...", and their ongoing disagreement about Santa Claus.
