Quick Questionnaire: 1. What practical skillset(s) do you wish you learned before ministry? (i.e. changing brakes, carpentry, etc) 2. How do you feel you could have been better prepared for what ministry really looks like? 3. Do you feel you've responded more to a job opportunity than to a true calling from God Himself? These can be hard to answer honestly, so please feel free to PM me if you wish...no judgement here...just collecting info and stories to confirm what God's been laying on my heart :) Thank you so much
We are so thankful for social media that enables us to stay connected especially because of self-imposed isolation and we are grateful and say thank you for your ongoing prayers as we call on God for his help through this pandemic. These are critical days for many of our friends and so we would ask you to continue to pray for: - Bert and Shirley Liira - both have contracted the coronavirus. Both are in critical condition. - Dell Caan - she needs open heart surgery ASAP - The families of Mary Hunter and Catherine Upton both have been promoted to glory. Thank you, Les and Pat Markham
You may be aware of Max Lucado's book, ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING, (Finding calm in a chaotic world). Max himself says, "Feed your faith not your fears. If you feed your faith, your fears will starve,". Isaiah 41:10 NIV. "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Les and I continue to pray with you for God's help.
Happy Birthday to Darwin Pichette's wife Barb! I hope she has a blessed day!

The Ministry Investors Group assists smaller and pioneer assemblies with the purchase of property and the construction or renovation of church buildings. It is a creative plan that allows us the privilege of investing in and having a share in God’s work in many communities without actually living there. Our current project is to assist Houston Pentecostal Church in Houston, BC. Click on the link below to read more and how to support. May God bless you as you consider to be a part of improving the Lord’s house in Houston. Thank you immensely for your heart of generosity.

As we celebrate the birth of our nation on Canada Day (July 1), may God pour out His Spirit in a fresh and powerful way, touching hearts and changing lives across Canada. Pray that many Canadians will encounter God and the gospel in new ways and decide to follow Jesus, and that they will be empowered by His Spirit. Pray that neighbourhoods will be transformed as people celebrate and care for one another. Pray also for our federal, provincial and municipal leaders as they work together and make decisions for the benefit of the country. Source: @thepaoc Everyday Prayer

From Our General Superintendent: Pray With Me for Canada

This Canada Day, we take the time to express our thanksgiving to the Lord for all He has done and continues to do for us as a nation. We acknowledge that God has generously provided for us and given us freedom to worship and to embrace our faith in Jesus, in whom we can take comfort during these challenging times. July 1, 2020 finds us in a unique season with a multitude of needs that call for focused prayer. With that in mind, please join me in praying for Canada in the following areas:

• For the Lord’s intervention in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic
- As of June 29, Canada’s case count stood at 103,918. We mourn for at least 8,566 people who have died, including some of our very own credential holders, and pray for God’s continued comfort and peace for their loved ones.
- We pray for healing for those who are still in the process of recovery, and ask that God will spare their lives.
- While we are thankful for God’s help for Canada in “flattening the curve,” we want to continue to pray for His intervention in limiting the spread of the coronavirus.
- We ask God for the grace to not grow weary in honouring restrictions that have been put in place by our governing authorities. We also pray for wisdom for those authorities as they lead.
- We ask Him for strength and encouragement for individuals and families all across our nation grappling with the effects of isolation and disrupted work and schooling schedules.
- We pray for continued strength, wisdom, perseverance and provision for our health care and front line workers, and that our health care systems will function smoothly.

• For our churches
- As our churches resume in-person services with restrictions, we pray for wisdom for our pastors, leaders and congregation members.
- We pray for protection for those preparing and caring for the meeting facilities and for those in attendance.
- We pray for strength and encouragement for our pastors as they lead in a challenging season.
- We pray for lives to be transformed by God’s Spirit as worship and the ministry of the Word takes place both onsite and online through the ministries of our churches.
- We pray for ongoing wisdom for our pastors and leaders as they continue searching for ways to serve their communities in the midst of the pandemic.

• For our ongoing work in pursuing racial reconciliation
- We pray that our leaders and churches will embrace and implement biblical principles of racial reconciliation, justice, and equity within our spheres of influence.
- We pray that we will work together toward the eradication of poverty.
- We pray for ongoing wisdom as we pursue short- medium- and long-term conversations and plans for implementation towards these goals.
- We pray for healing and unity in line with Jesus’ prayer for us (John 17:20-23).

In closing, I invite you to view this short message and join in singing our national anthem: https://youtu.be/16x4-bwWRnw

Wherever you are, we ask for God’s blessing on you and your household this Canada Day. May God continue to keep our land glorious and free.

David Wells,
General Superintendent of The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada

Today, on June 21, Father’s Day will be celebrated by most families in the Western world. It’s a time when many set aside at least a few hours (and dollars) to show appreciation for the first and primary male leader in their lives. It’s a good time to reflect and offer gratitude and to acknowledge the blessing of having this source of guidance and love. Although it’s regrettable that some of us are unable to tap into memories or the living reality of a positive relationship with a biological father, for many, the symbolism and heritage is spiritually and emotionally meaningful. Father God, however, avails Himself for all. Matthew 6:9—“This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.” Fathers - We honour you! A Call for Unity in North America

The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada stands in solidarity with our brothers and sisters within the member fellowships of the Pentecostal Charismatic Churches of North America (PCCNA) in their stand against racism and injustice. We pray for peace in the aftermath of the murder of George Floyd and for genuine solutions to emerge as we work with others towards racial reconciliation, biblical justice and mercy. The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, in conjunction with the PCCNA racial reconciliation and unity commission, is now providing a comprehensive communiqué to highlight redemptive attitudes and actions needed at this time.

[The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada has been a member of the Pentecostal Charismatic Churches of North America (PCCNA) from its inception under the Pentecostal Fellowship of North America (PFNA). PCCNA provides an active network of 47 denominations and ministries in which the PAOC connects for shared initiatives and resources. This includes a number of Canadian fellowships and churches, including the PAOC.]

Pentecost Sunday 2020

As pastors and ministry leaders, there are dates on the church calendar which hold great significance and shape the messages we share. They also influence what we pray and believe for, as we seek to align our work with that of the Spirit. With Pentecost Sunday soon approaching, we encourage you to challenge your congregation to a deeper walk with the Spirit. The Spirit is at work all across our nation, and around the world. Let’s prepare ourselves in anticipation of a powerful move of the Spirit in our local congregations, today and every day. As we live lives that are fully and actively engaged with the Spirit, may those around us not only see and hear but also experience what it means to live a Spirit-empowered life.

Len DenBraber shares:
During the pandemic, our staff have been encouraged to work from home, but Wednesday was one of those coincidences where most of us were in the office for one reason or another. Knowing that Premier Horgan and Dr. Bonnie Henry (why does everyone use both her names?) were updating the province on the plans to start lifting the restrictions imposed due to the pandemic, we gathered around a TV (practicing social distancing, of course!) to hear what they would say.
We all gasped when Premier Horgan announced that the ban on gathering in groups over 50 would remain in place through the summer and maybe even into the fall.
