The snow was very heavy during the Christmas that year. After a period of hard work, we brothers and sisters in the choir finally took first place in the town’s choir competition. At the first meeting after Christmas, brothers and sisters were still talking excitedly and endlessly about winning the competition. I recalled the scene of that day, we singing and dancing, which was very lively. But after the holiday I felt empty and there was no spiritual enjoyment. I could not feel the Lord’s presence, but very exhausted. Other brothers and sisters also had the same feeling. I could not figure out what on earth was going on.

We pray for the repose of the soul of Archbishop Emeritus John Bathersby. May he rest in peace.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Archbishop John Bathersby this morning.

Archbishop Bathersby was a long-serving and dedicated servant of the Church in Queensland and will be remembered for his emphasis on prayer, the Eucharist and the centrality of Jesus as well as a commitment to ecumenism and the laity.

May he rest in peace.

Good morning everyone, just a reminder that if you're unable to make it for the memorial mass today for Sri Lanka there'll be a live stream up over on archbne.org/bzt. 🙏🏼

The stream can be viewed on https://youtu.be/1fnKToBx2bo right now.

You’ll find us here today on this amazing day! 😇 #blessed

Over 350 people have died in this horrific attack, and many whilst attending Easter Mass. Please join us and let's pray together for the people of Sri Lanka during this terrible time.

Please join us at The Cathedral of St Stephen on Sunday for a Memorial Mass to pray for the victims of the Sri Lankan terror attacks and to pray for the peace of a grieving nation. Archbishop Mark Coleridge will celebrate the Mass.

Good day, everyone. We trust that you are all looking forward to the upcoming Easter season. The Cathedral will once again be holding Masses during the Paschal Triduum. The Young Adults Ministry of St Stephen's will be participating and helping with the Mass on Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil Mass on Saturday. We hope you can all make it, and if any young adults are interested in helping out at any of the Masses, please let us know.

We would also like to announce an upcoming social event on the 27th of April. Details for this are yet to be finalised, and we will make a facebook event closer to the date. Another event coming up is our first Vine talk of the year. "The Vine" is a formation session for young adults to learn about the faith and gain a deeper understanding. In the past, we had the Vine talk on the first Sunday of the month before the YAM Mass. This year, however, we have made the decision to hold the talk on the fourth Sunday of each month.

We at YAM hope that you have had a holy Lent and wish you a happy Easter Season. God bless!

[04/06/19]   Good morning everyone. Just reminding you that our Lenten program will be continuing today, Saturday at 4pm. Also, tomorrow, Sunday, is the First Sunday of the Month Young Adults Mass for April. We hope to see you there!

[03/08/19]   Hello everyone. Just reminding you all about the YAM Lenten program tomorrow, Saturday in the Francis Rush Centre at 4pm tomorrow. Hope to see you there

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, an important event in our faith - a reminder of our mortality, a call to sacrifice, and opening ourselves to accept that our very lives are a gift from God.

You were made from dust, and unto dust you shall return - but how will you live in that time in-between?

Mass Times:
8am, 10am, 12:30pm and 5:30pm

This Sunday is the YAM Choirs’ first rehearsal for the year for our Young Adult Mass (March 2nd), and we are always on the look out for new voices and musicians! Rehearsal from 3-5pm inside the Cathedral and you’re all welcome to come!

Sing together with our group of vocalists under the direction of Sr Monique and learn more about music and our special ministry in the church. Any questions, please post them below! #yamchoir #music #singpraise #singforjoy
